Thank you for your visiting to korea~^^ and At Korean restaurants...If you want more side dishes(반찬) ... you can get it for free anywhere. That is the rule of korean restaurant^^ so when you need some more side dishes, ask to the master freely ^^ and there is no 'tip culture' in korea...so you needn't give tip to any employees ^^ good luck~~

You always struggle to pronounce Seoul hahaha you can just pronounce it the same way as soul. The native sound is a bit different but almost same

Haha. I always find it interesting when its pronounced that way. Im no english pronunciation writing expert but the korean way of saying it is suh-ool. As in rhymes with uh and wool. But just blends the vowels a bit instead of clearly distinct syllables. So in the end the closest word is what the user earlier stated “soul”.

Hello, I am a Korean living in Seoul. To be honest, Nami Island is not a place for European or American people to visit. It is a good place for Southeast Asian tropical people to go to see autumn leaves or snow falling in winter. There are many mountains near Seoul. There are mountains and rivers 10 minutes away from my house. Rather, visit the mountains around Seoul and the Han River. There are many beautiful places around the Han River. There are many parks around the whole river in Seoul. If you visit Bukak Mountain or Acha Mountain, you can see beautiful Seoul. I guess you are disappointed that Nami Island has nothing special. haha,

      한강도 좋지만 남이섬은 다른매력이 있지요.
좋고 안 좋고는 방문하는 사람마다의 개인취향입니다. 일반화하지 마세요.

Not a place for European or American people to visit

Hi, Dan and Beth, If you've been to Nami Island and if you are British loving gardening, :) you must visit the "Morning Calm Garden" nearby. When it comes to the weird statues on Nami Island, given Nami Island has a history of transforming a trash island into a tourist resource, and they created sculptures to represent that historical background. There are many symbolic sculptures with the message of upcycling.

3:08 Let me give you some tips about public transportation in Korea.
Use public transportation with the T Money Card. Once you recharge this card, you can use it on buses, subways, and even taxis. Korea has a good transfer system, so you can use public transportation very cheaply. Additionally, the T Money Card and recharge amount will be refunded at the end of the trip.
T Money recharging is available at convenience stores and subways.

Please, foreigners in Korea should not ride public transportation while eating or drinking. If you spill a drink on public transportation, who will clean it up? Please make sure to follow the instructions as it may cause harm to others. Do not drink while walking on the street. Many foreigners secretly throw away their beverage cups on the street after they finish drinking because the trash cans are not easily visible. Don't forget

a long story short, Nami Island is privately owned. there's a controversy that a japan conspirator bought the island with the fortune he made during the japan occupation period. another story is that the government encouraged the family to own the island and make it a tourists' destination. basically, it's a cashcow.
