Please connect with Wambui …your DESIGN rocks … THESE ARE ADORABLE!,,, teaching is difficult, patience, repetition, and detailI bet your style and Wambui’s tutorial style would ROCK!!!! I am just so frustrated I have frog at least six little baby sneakers and I am so determined
I had a very easy time following this, I didn't find it too fast. If there was something I got a little confused on I'd just check the pattern. I ended up not doing the laces by crochet and just did them by sewing. I loved the end product. I love your tutorials. So easy and helpful.
If you guys go to settings and put the speed down as low as you can, it helps a lot to see better whay pegs she is decreasing and when she's doing it. Hope this helps.😁
Scratch the comment I put up top I figured it out by knowing that I sewed the sole the wrong way for the tongue and back of the bootie to line up so thank you for a wonderful intermediate loom project I am enjoying this video
Thanks Scarlett, I was falling apart with frustration last night lol. I worked so hard and was so proud of myself for making it so far, and then I got to something that looked so easy for you, and I lost it. Thank you and sorry.
I have to agree with most people, camera over your shoulder would have been better, better terminology, slow down when you explain things, and so on. They are adorable but I'm sure with your experience you could make a much better video with some of the hints that are listed here and from the others who ask you to do it a different way to help all of those others who have a bit of trouble with following you. Thank you.
These are so cute! I'm going to try to make them for my youngest son. Also, they're some pretty negative comments that I've read below, one from, desperate grandmother or something like that, I just want to say, if you can't follow this video, go take a class some where that you could pay for, this woman is taking her time to post this and give other people patterns FOR FREE, instead of telling her what she did wrong, maybe you could say thank you!! Jeeze, some people have no respect.
Courtney Brunelle It’s not disrespect. If multiple people are saying they can’t see because of the camera angle and she’s going too fast. They are not lying. What is the purpose of doing a tutorial if more than half the people is confused. It is the instructions. You have your opinion they have theirs.
How do u do the crocheting to make the holes, urban so far away from the camera I can't figure this part out, I don't crochet so I'm completely lost... any hints on this instead of crochet one pull thru both hoops suddenly please.... thanks
is it possible to make these as slippers for toddlers? would doing the same thing on the next largest loom work to make them bigger? Thank you for your videos! They are amazing!!
Katie Gannon I would suggest E-Wrap and extra couple of rows at the very beginning, and then go about E-Wrapping the top section rather than a flat knit should enlarge it to a toddler size. The next loom up I think would be too big. Hope this helps.
I loved the video. I'm somewhat new to looming. How can I convert this to an adult size? Someone has asked me to make them a pair and I can't figure out how to do it. Thank you in advance.
OMG!! I think I might have to set this down. I got all the way through the loom knitting and tried to "tighten the cast on." I am now cross-eyed and need stronger glasses. 😂 Going to frog it and try again. 😬 I officially cannot stand the term "toss over"
very wonderful job i did two of them in deffirent colors and every body loves it its so cute on my baby's foot.. just wanna ask if i want to make one on older size like for 12 months old baby do i have to use the bigger loom?!! and the same pattern?!! Thanks
+Maya Raad 12 months, have been thinking about how to go in and do this and it isn't coming to me on how to change up the size. I have plans in the future to revisit this pattern and adjust it to make sizing more versitile but will change how it is made entirely.
Very hard when you started decreasing, it is impossible to move to the next peg, it seems like I’m missing something there. Have started over 3 times with no improvement.😢 you make it look so easy.
It would help if you'd slow down when doing the back side of the bootie. I got lost and couldn't see where you stopped, in order to go the other direction. I'm referring to when you are doing the back side. The decreasing part is hard to see because of the angle. Please make a slower version with better angles, of this video. I was on a roll and had to take my work apart.
i need help with the decrease. The video moves too fast, is there anyway to zoom in and slow it down for a more clear step by step? i would appreciate greatly. i watched the same part over and over and i cant do it.
Liz Carbo I have a techniques video that shows decreasing slower and up close. This is one of my older videos and can be hard to see. Also sometimes if it is a common technique you can type it into the youtube search engine and there are others who show how to decrease as well.
I have done a bit of looming but this is hard to follow in terms of letting us know how many stitches we have to go to decrease and which way these are so cute maybe next time you can explain more clearer. I followed the link which did help a bit but the written and the video didn't really match up the first one turned out good the second match I had to modify afterwards I did make a pair not sure If I will again though.
The video is a bit too fast. I'm finding myself having to rewind often. Also it is very difficult to see what you are doing with the crochet hook. I'm stuck.Would you mind doing the video again, slowing down, zooming in closer, especially when using the crochet hook. I would greatly appreciate it. I have two grandkids I'm making these for and I would like to finish them.thank you, Dawn
+Dawn S I have plans in the future after this busy season is over which wouldn't be until my dead season. Mostly because videos take days to make. I have plans of redoing a lot of my older videos with the camera that I never knew weather I was in shot and too far away. Although with this pattern I was going to go about it differently if I did redo it, I know that doesn't help now but just don't have the time at the moment for redoing videos.
hey, question- how do you keep your grey yarn from tightening up on that stitch? it seems like no matter what I do, I'm about to break the pegs every time. Decreasing a stitch is sooo hard because of how tight it keeps getting...
I would like to do the Basic booties pattern with sizing from newborn to adult on the long loom but don't see the pattern. I was looking at it one or two day ago. I don't understand the decrease part and can't get the video to come up.
77stangchic Yeah the pattern is written out on my blog, here is the link. theideasandcreationsfromthemuse.blogspot.com/2013/07/tennis-shoe-booties-circular-loom.html
When you do the first decrease, so I counted 6 and did the next one and when I take it off, it's really tight and it's hard to put that yarn on the next peg- is it supposed to be that way? I've followed the video the entire way and find it tough to decrease that part.. Any thoughts?
and when I did the flat row, did it twice as video states, it's really tightt so much it's tough to do the flat after the decrease, I'm using similar yarn and everything. The flat is putting the yarn in front of peg and wrapping it around so I get how to do it but when you did the flat, it seemed quick and not bad tension
Lindsey Gibbs If you are having trouble with the flat knit being tight, you might be interested in trying to do it with a U-wrap, Tuteate does the U-wrap and Loom a Hat also does a video on the different forms of knit in looming. You might want to check them out. I always suggest the u-wrap it the flat knit is giving you trouble being too tight.
My work came out all squiffy? Like the front flap bit didn't line up with the front of the shoe?? And i didn't understand too well the bit at the end were you join it up using the crochet hook? Its really annoyed me as Ive not had a problem making anything else following your other videos before? xx
Hi, can you make another video more up to date, please. I really like this pattern but it's not close enough to the camera and it's hard to see the actual working of the presentation. .
Earline Marini toss over knit is the same as a flat knit. This is before I knew more technical terms in loom knitting. Oh and the edge of the shoe thing, are you talking the crochet part? It is a crochet edge. You can do a sewn edging if you don't know how to crochet.
I'm so bummed out. I made it 12 minutes into this video, it has taken me two hours to get through everything myself. I've made it to the part where i'm supposed to tighten the cast on by pulling the opposite way? what does that even mean? There is no high def on this video, so I can't see what is going on, just that all of a sudden there is a lot of yarn. I've tried googling the phrase "tightening a cast on" and I guess this is sort of something made up and is not a normal thing... What a bummer. Two hours of my life I'll never get back and another unfinished knitting project to go into the box of rejects that I can't get myself to throw away because of all the time invested :(
Here is a trick if you don't get the tightened cast on right and you really are just working with the bottom layer. You can still sew up the bottom and tie off the extra as you are sewing up and just cut the extra off when done sewing the bottom up. I hope this helps. In the future I think I will do a different cast on that might solve this problem. There are many out there just haven't found one I really like yet.
i agree with these comments. it would help to slow down and position your camera and respond to these comment because people I bet feel ignored and don't know if you read them. thanks for trying on your video. have you posted another video. would love to see it.
I don't tend to respond to the video critic anymore since this was one of my earliest videos and have long since improved my video quality from several years ago. I do not intend on re videoing this video as a takes a week or more to create a video. I have more pressing projects on my books then to waste weeks re videoing old videos.
+Earline Marini: simply knitting the stitch without wrapping all the way around the peg; hold the yarn across the top of the peg (above the stitch already on that peg), then simply lift the original stitch that is near the top of the peg.
I like this idea and your video but I really didn’t understand why it stated ten seconds into the video. If the last es a few more seconds longer I was about to turn it off but I’m glad I didn’t
What's with the "tighten up" on that cast off?! I should have watched the whole video before i decided to follow along. I just ruined my whole project ☹
Tightening up the cast on leaves a cleaner line if you do an e-wrap cast on. But if you don't feel comfortable trying this, I would try the drawstring cast on and it tightens it up to clean line and sew up. I have done this option as well.
I'm a beginner. I love your idea and how your booties came out, but unfortunately I could not see a lot of the stitches and steps when you changed to the grey yarn because the camera was too far away and you were going too fast. I suggest moving the camera closer to your project, going slower and going through more of the same steps before you speed up the camera.
+Jesus' Warrior In the End Times This is one of my very early videos, I have plans to redo this pattern and video it in the future. Not near but in the future.
Hi Scarlett Royal, that would be great because I love the things that you make. I'm just beginning so its just a little difficult to keep up with experts like you. I need to see the steps slow and repetitively. Thanks and have a blessed week. :)
I’m a beginner and I can’t see a lot of the video also you’re not showing any of the pegs were you are decreasing your stitches very hard to follow video!!!!😢
It is unfortunate you don't have the camera in front of you facing low down towards what you explaining . As beginner I can not see fully what your doing, so not helpful.. These look so cute. Wish I could see what stitches your lifting and moving.

that's great! !.. I can't wait .. I was planning on making some for my father for Xmas. .thank you !😄

very creative! loving the video. .what size loom should I use for an adult sizes?

I went to your blog to get the pattern and it was gone, deleted. Could you please put the pattern back up somewhere. Thank you

cute, I wish I cld see better how u work on the loom...the position of the camera doesnt help :(
I have tried but failed 3 times & can not get the bottom to tighten. Would this work with a drawstring cast on?

Love it. I'm going to try. Thank you for sharing
These are the cutest ever
Please do another video of this clearer, i got so far and got lost... esp on the sole and casting off the back i couldnt see what you were doing..
Do you a pattern for these on regular knitting needles I love the little shoes but I don't know anything about loom thank you
I'm afraid not but I could have sworn I have seen someone who has knitted these somewhere but they could have been crocheted.
Scarlett Royal do you have these instructions written...? wanted to pass it along to my mom but she doesn't have a computer.

Do you have this pattern written down somewhere Scarlett?
+Amanda Massia Typically all my patterns written out are on my blog and the link usually shows up in the info box below the video.
Just to be clear,we are NOT tying when moving from the sole to the alternate color?Or are we?o-0
you are tying off when changing to the new color. hope this is helpful.

Can you make another video with a closer view
Should i double up on the red heart or no? I didnt hear you ..
These are so cute..I must try..I have grandson 11 on the way
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.
Is there a way to modify this so it will fit a newborn?
This pattern should fit a newborn if not use a thinner yarn that should help.
this a very cute..please post a video with a better angle and for beginners like me
those are so awesome thank you for sharing this video,,, this is my next proyect
can u try loom knitt a converses plz
+Serena Alexandra Best I got for that style. www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/adult-tennis-shoes
No i want baby knitted converses knitted by loom newborn
To make newborn size, cudn' u just don't make as many cast on stitches in the beginning?
NO MARTHA STEWART DA PRA FAZER TAMBEM? OBRIGADA.
Its too far away I cant see the decreases
Is toss over knit is that just knit over?
Earline Marini toss over knit is the same as a flat knit. This is before I knew more technical terms in loom knitting. Oh and the edge of the shoe thing, are you talking the crochet part? It is a crochet edge. You can do a sewn edging if you don't know how to crochet.

anyone having trouble with the cast off? i cant seem to get it how she does it, mine comes of all wrong
Hey you can do a regular bind off without the crochet hook. You just need a simple bind off.
What is the toss over knit?
+Earline Marini: simply knitting the stitch without wrapping all the way around the peg; hold the yarn across the top of the peg (above the stitch already on that peg), then simply lift the original stitch that is near the top of the peg.
You're a doll! BIG THANKS! :-)
How can I knit this without a crochet hook? I'm not even a beginner in crochet lol
Your going to fast and the camera should be closer so we could see what your doing. I will continue searching until I find a better teacher🤗
What size yarn? Baby yarn or worsted yarn?
MaKayla Blair I used worsted yarn, but also doubled the strands.
Thanks!!
Can you make this slower simpler w more repeat instruction
went way too fast unclear directions

You need to bring the camera closer to your project. The shoes are really cute

I’m a beginner and I can’t see a lot of the video also you’re not showing any of the pegs were you are decreasing your stitches very hard to follow video!!!!😢
awesome
On ne voit pas grand chose c'est dommage
It is awesome but too fast for me to follow
on ne voit rien donc pas possible à faire
Awwwwwwww:-)
This video was very hard to follow along. Perhaps seeing the video from your perspective would be better.
This is one of my older videos, these days I do prefer videoing from my angle.

It is unfortunate you don't have the camera in front of you facing low down towards what you explaining . As beginner I can not see fully what your doing, so not helpful.. These look so cute. Wish I could see what stitches your lifting and moving.
Lost me during the first - I cannot see how you ‘e-wrap’
You video is hard to see. There needs to be more visibility to what you are doing. It is hard to follow along.
