For me it's Hoegaarden all the way. Has more taste, spices, bit more sweetness than Blue Moon, less carbonated than Blue Moon... Hoegaarden for me it's the perfect beer of this style. 🙂
Completely agree. Frustrating though how its hard to find in bars. BM is tolerable. Certainly better than the typical beers served or the IPAs which are usually served at the wrong temperature (too cold). But BM is not in the same league is Hoegaarden.
Witbier is my absolute favorite style. I would definitely recommend Blanche de Bruxelles from Lefebvre. It can be a bit hard to find here in the US but it’s wonderful and worth the search.
Great idea for a video Dean. Blue Moon along with Punk IPA started my interest in craft beer in the first place. Loving the back drop aswell mate. Cheers 🍻
Great video mate! I'm a 5ft 3" lady from Wales, found blue moon a few years back.....was my fav! Then came across Hoeegarden..... I think Blue Moon is still the fav... Yes I'm the wolley who likes the orange slice 🤣 great vid....watched it while drinking a Hoeegarden!
Hoegaarden 750ml vs Hoegaarden 330ml is a video I'd like to see someone do. The 4-packs of 330ml bottles are darker colored and in my opinion, although they're ok, they're nowhere near as good as the big bottles.
Good review. I just sat down with a hoegaarden and actually thought it would be good to do a drink off between hoegaarden and blue moon, and then I found your review! 🙂👍
Been drinking hoegarrden for years but discovered something amazing in France about 6 years ago..they can add a dash of PICON which is a french aperitif made from sun dried oranges and call it a "picon biere".....it transforms an already great beer into something absolutely amazing, I bring the stuff back every year as it's very hard to get hold of over here.....something you must try Dean if you get the chance👍...I dont touch blue moon, overpowering floral taste about it
@@DeansBeerReviews yeah mate, it turns the beer to a hazy brown colour and adds a superb extra caramel orange taste to the already great taste of hoegarrden Its 18% proof!! so they only add a dash...its so good my mrs loves it and like a lot of women she generally hates beer 🙄
@@DeansBeerReviews if you mean enjoyed the 4 I bought I reviewed 2 and drunk other 2..so had to go try get them again. I've just uploaded little preview of 4 new ones 🙈
Cheers Deano, Hoegaarden hands down for me over the macro alternative Blue Moon...I so like though that you didn’t use the orange. I believe a tasty beer shouldn’t need fruit to make it stand out. Too video my friend, Cheers brother! #GetYourBeerOn
First tried a Hoegaargen in 2015 and thought it was foul, now this year love Wheatbeers in general, Paulaner I thought was very nice, and Rheinbacher is one very wheaty beer compared to some of the others
Hoegaarden is so much better a Belgian-styled white beer 🍺 than Blue Moon. Both beers taste better on tap in an ice-cold pint glasses with a slice of orange. Boddingtons from Strangeway Breweries, England, is the best clear pub ale on tap...huge natural and foamy head on it.
Tried Blue Moon once thought it was a pointless brew. Hardly any flavour at all. Was probably nice before Molson got it, same could be said about InBev but it seems that they have retained some flavour in the hoegaarden albeit its not the same as it used to be if you ask the belgians. Blue moon for me was just flat cloudy lager.
Blue moon took all the pros and cons of wheat beers, they ironed our all the problems and made a mass produced, mass appeal/ non-offensive version Blue moon - cracking beer, get on it
Blue moon is what you find at most bars around here. And its not bad. Hoegaarden is still hands down better, and to date is my favorite beer. ::Edit:: whats amusing. I wrote the above before watching this review and drew the same conclusions including the word for word description of Blue Moon being "Not bad". Meaning..Its tolerable
Hoegaarden Witbier with a splash of lemon on a hot day can’t be beat.

Cheers I may have seen that one around at some point online ?
Both pair extremely well with fresh hot salty fries with cold ketchup and a pool table 😉
👍

Hey as long as you enjoyed it that's all that matters in my book

Thank you
Glad you watched it
I assume I'd choose Hoegaarden, but I've never done a blind taste test with these two items.
You should do it
Loving the background mate
👍
My two fave wheat beers are hoegarden and paulaner.

OK sounds like it amplifies that lovely orange flavour in it

Hoegaarden all the way! The first witbier is thought to have been brewed in a monastery in the 14th century in the village of Hoegaarden, Belgium.
Weinstephaner is the one for me!
Nice comparison review 👍
Also love the set up looks incredible!
Cheers bri
It's nice messing around with new beers ain't it
Did you enjoy that beer?

Good video mate, enjoyed that. cracking set up too

Great video , hope to see more comparison reviews 👍
Yeah a few more in the pipeline I reckon

All day long on this one rod
Cheers mate
Hoegaarden is macro too...AB Inbev
Thanks for the review. Have a 6 pack of the Hoegaarten chillin’ in the fridge as I type this. Have you tried weihenstephaner weissbier?
Yes that's one of the best in the style I think

Great idea having beer versus beer. Cheers!
Good fun to do once in a while

Something in Blue Moon makes me feel a little nauseous afterwards, so I don't drink it.
That is more than likely all the chemicals pumped into the mix?
@@DeansBeerReviews haha too right

I guess another beer that has been wrecked by the big brewers??
@@DeansBeerReviews most certainly
Hoegaarden is AB Inbev
Normally start off with a couple blue moons then finish with the big ol hoegaarden eheheh
Perfectly expectable wheat beers
Have you tried the mango bluemoon ?
@@DeansBeerReviews Not yet. Did catch my eye at the store. Next time..
I thought the blue moon just tasted like a lager haha, love a hoegaarden and erdinger
I get what you mean with that
Try and get your hands on a Belzebuth beer, strong but very smooth.
I've heard of the name strong stuff then

Just Subbed as well 👍
