I found the dr brown's specialty feeding system. It made it so easy for my baby to have his bottle. After the palate repair I used the comotomo bottle I could help him by squeezing the bottle a little since he was not used to or didn’t really know how to suck at first. I hope this helps someone because it was quite a challenge for us to find what worked for him, now I’m on the search for a sipping cup he might like 3 weeks post palate repair.

    Some good information.
My fear of the X cut is the baby being overwhelmed with milk. Silicone may also become sharp if cut. Obtaining a Medela or Pigeon bottle for Special Needs babies is preferable.
Most nipples are made of silicone now, so boiling it won't make it softer. There are soft bottles, like the Breastbottle and the Comototo, but be careful not to overwhelm the baby with too much milk at one time. Parents need to be taught the signs of distress in detail so they will know when the baby needs a break or needs medical help.
Showing a baby being fed would be really helpful. :)
