Oh how I miss singing these hymns in the church I go to now. This young generation does not know these old hymns of faith.

Oh, how I wish my church sang hymns! So much doctrine that exalts God and not focus on our emotions or feelings!
Indeed. The amount of doctrine the churches omit through the contemporary worship songs is a scandal. Sigh. God is bigger than our feelings!
As a conservative Presbyterian, my church usually sings this hymn after the opening prayer. So I agree with your opinion.
@@seongjinlim3457 I am a Presbyterian and have been switching to a more conservative denomination recently because they sing more hymns (and sing the worship songs more respectfully and inclusive for the congregation).
Sadly this particular version of this hymn misses out on some of the depth of the Biblical references in the hymn's original words.
Can't agree more with you sir! As a member of Calvinist church based from Dutch Reformation church, If this hymn used as processional hymn, congregation always sing this hymn with a whole heart till the tear fallin down 😭

moving lyrics and it sounds gorgeous no doubt but if i close my eyes i physically cannot decipher whats being said. big problem in choir music i feel you just cant hear whats being said unless youre reading along with the lyrics :-/
