You are extremely lucky to be not injured in a crash like this, and another driver who stopped to help you is a true legend. I had a similar crash when I was younger in Rotax Max Junior. Two drivers were battling in front of me, and for some reason one of them decided to brake early. I bumped him, had my front wheels off the ground, and because I was still on the throttle and out of control, I was thrown into the tire wall. Due to impact, the chassis was twisted in a manner that didn’t allow me to get out without marchal’s help. I had a broken arm, a crack in the rib and a severe concussion. And that’s because when someone asks me “hey, I wanna become a karter, what should I do first”, I answer “safety gear”.
Oof mate! That’s sad to hear😢. Karting is really dangerous.

I am so happy to do sim racing when I see this. Happy for you that no serious injury occurred.
This was my biggest fear while owning my kz2. Luckily we had quite large run off areas at my local track but in some places it could have gone really bad if this happened. Especially scary when someone infront can be leaking fluid and it can happen at any single moment.

Damn it! 😱 The most important is that you're OK, because the crash was horrible as seen on this POV. I felt some cold shivering 😅 In my very small experience with standard karts, my only risk was in a double-kart, when after ending up on the grass, an idiot literally grazed the kart without even slowing down.

Btw: How intense would you say that driving a shifter kart is compared to something like a Porsche cup car or Audi GT3 ? Is a shifter kart more physical to drive?
Glad you are ok! Do you have an idea on why it happened? As a non-karter, everything looked really normal going into the corner. Was it something on the track or the kart that caused it to happen?

It's a cover for the radiator. If the engine temp is low, you can let less air come through the radiator

I used to have a CRG shifter kart in the early 2000’s. One thing that doesn’t show in the videos is how these things drive like they are on rails until you come loose then it’s like your on ice.

The anti skill locking system didn't work lol I feel like barriers on race tracks need their own suspension like on a car or motorbike. As the car or kart or person hits the barrier it has multiple layers of cushioning or really soft springs to protect the driver but also to cause less damage to the vehicle and possibly even give the stewards a reading of G forces recorded from the crash.

Always drive alone. Dying or getting seriously injured due to someone else's fault is the worst scenario possible.
don't mean to blame the victim but you need to be more commited in the entry to that corner
before you get to a liftoff point just shift down and then back up because the engine braking will help the tires grip
