Hey, great video! It's always so nice hearing about some dnd adventures and characters. Have fun with your group and tell them they have amazing looking characters! ✨
Man I would love to get a commission from you cause I love your work, but I it's so hard as an artist who needs their own commissions to be paying for commissions :P I keep forgetting that D&D Orcs live in caves, and I love the lore you came up with how Dwarves, Gnomes and Orcs share a civilization all being from the Underground and by the sound of it being a very industrious civilization. I hate how so many series that use Orcs make them "Primitive neanderthal-like savage simpletons" as opposed to the "More civilized races". Our main source for Orcs as a staple Fantasy race came from Tolkien who's Orcs while being brutal and savage were not evil as a result of lacking civilization but because they were hyper industrial and militaristic conquerors destroying the land, slaughtering and enslaving to feed the fires of progress and the industrial war machine. It just makes me wonder why traits of Orcs being Industrious didn't carry over into other fantasy series? The only one that I think kinda does that (kinda...) are The Space Orks in Warhammer. I don't know a lot about Warhammer, I just know that their Orks (with a K) are the best part of the series, cause they aren't wrapped up in any of the Grimdark hopelessness, or complex lore, they are just there to have a good time, they love fighting everybody, and make the most insane ridiculous machines cause they have mild reality altering abilities where if enough Orks believe something then it just works??? Kaida managed to get into the Poker game! I had the Fighter Mercenary talk the Mob boss who was in charge of the game to let Kaida join, probably for the last time though because Kaida was caught cheating. I was rolling pretty well for the most part and have a really high sleight of hand but with the amount of participants over 7 rounds she was bound to mess up eventually. Luckily she had an escape plan! Kaida carries a bunch of small glass balls with Alchemist Fire in them she calls her "Fire Pearls" so when she was about to get punished for being caught cheating "Boom!" Throws down a little burst of fire and makes her escape! She may have lost the Poker game but she had fun anyway and because two of the members of the game are also Pirates she decided to pay their ships a visit using her hat of disguise to blend in among the crew of both pirates to Steal the treasure from one's ship and plant it on the other, and steal the private information from the other and plant it on the first one. These guys already hate each other so I may have sparked a Pirate War! Kaida is definitely going to try to get the best of both of them while they are busy fighting one another.
Thank you and no worries! I totally get it, being an artist is hard 😅 And I actually didn't know dnd orcs lived in caves lol I didn't do any research on them because I always do homebrew worlds. But my idea for the Dendari was that I wanted them to be stone men. In my world's lore there were once a group called the Arii, which were like the traditional nature based elves but with horns, but then they split into different culture groups and evolved to match their environment. I will probably go over this more in a lore dump video but basically there are Kaedari, the wood elf/satyr people with branch antlers. The Sankari which are the snooty high elves. Sunarii which are like tieflings, but draconian bloodline instead of demon. Nonarii which are like the drow and ice elves, and then the Dendari which are the short and stocky dwarves or big buff orcs. They all share physical similarities of pointed ears (though everyone in my world has pointy ears, even "humans") and some kind of horn or horns. For simplicity I took out the horns for the dnd campaign but the Dendari's horns were pretty small anyway. Anyway, long winded way of saying they weren't originally supposed to be orcs but were based on them. Like they were the same race of Dendari but some were just born really big and others were born smaller. The big ones were the defenders and the smaller ones took on the scholarly roles, and that's kinda just how their society has been and everyone is pretty okay with it. The big ones, the orcs and half orcs, have a natural love for fighting and showing power through physical strength, but their not the barbaric kind of orcs like you see in media. And since their favored God is Gidesis, the God of war, victory, and civilization, they've got a pretty well oiled machine of a society ^-^ oh and they're not all green, and in fact green is kind of rare. They usually have more natural skin tones or be reddish. And 33 was born and raised in a mountainous desert continent, and also he hates being underground which is really funny since dnd orcs live in caves xD Sorry for the lore dump lol Kaida's life stresses me out but also it must be so fun to be a pirate! I'm glad you were able to get out of the conflict because oof getting caught cheating by a bunch of mob bosses sounds like insta death
@@SivanasArtStudio Yeah they said going into the poker game that anybody caught cheating will be beaten within an inch of their life by the other players, not dead but they would wish they were. Kaida wasn't going to risk giving them the opportunity so she prepared for the event of being caught. Love your lore, it's so interesting and I love when people do twists on the formulas of classic fantasy races to make them less Same-old. Teiflings having Dragon blood is really cool!
Thank you! ^-^ I wanted to make a new kind of fantasy, but it's hard to make something that hasn't already been done, but I did my best. The other "elves" and "humans" aren't actually elves or humans lol for the sake of dnd they are but in my lore there are no humans and the humanoids with pointy ears are called Airbias and Viraean, depending on where they're from. And yes their draconic origins is actually a big plot point ^-^ I'm excited for my players to eventually get to that hehe
@@SivanasArtStudio I am working on my own Fantasy story centered around a world inspired off of a mix of mainly Mesozoic and other prehistoric periods where Dragons rule in place of people. There are also Dwarves but these Dwarves are Beetles. I was inspired by how in Norse Myth the Dwarves were created from the bugs consuming the corpse of a Giant so I decided "What if they are still an insect?"
