Nice review. I’ve been using one for about six months now and I found a cool tip on UA-cam somewhere. Put a container under your composter to catch the drippings and that’s basically compost tea that you use for fertilizing your plants
Thank you for the update! I ordered mine from Amazon and just received it today. I was wondering how well it was going to work, so now I have my answer. I watched your other video on how to put it together, and it was very helpful. Thanks again.
I have the same. I live in South Dakota and it has lasted through about 5 hard winters so far. Weeks of subzero temps. Also struck by how odor free the set up is.
Great Video! Don’t bury the legs. They will rust quicker. Mine rusted after many years with the bottom bar above the ground. I applied POR 3-STEP STOP RUST SYSTEM. The rust now has a bullet proof black coating on the bottom leg crossbar.
@@mrjonathank92 I just learned that bit of information may be two months ago and yes, I may not be as disciplined about going out and adding water and turning it every three days so I realize that was my problem. Ha ha ha
I just bought this compost tumbler. The instruction manual said not to put it in direct sun. Have you had a problem s leaving yours in the sun all the time?
I have a similar style composter and add any lonely worms that I find around the land. They kind of enjoy the days when I spin the composter... Kind of like a ferris wheel ride for them, I imagine?

That's a great idea!
I was wondering about that, thanks for the tip
@@life_score i’ve been doing it for about a year now and I can’t believe how good the results are. That’s basically my main source of fertilizer

I’m on winter 2 and all is going well! It’s frozen solid now so no compost is happening. Glad to hear yours held up

Good call on the rust. Using a coating is a great idea thank you
thanks you saved me 70 bucks!
Nice review
little tarp on ground tip rotate swing around a bit get a second to help pull out 4 points lift and tip into wheel barrow
You don't want the crank, they break, that's a great model
Great to hear! I'm still jealous of the crank models, but maybe that's misguided
I still don’t have usualbe compost after 1 year using this exact compost tumbler.
Try some coconut coir! It’s super dry and works well if you have too many kitchen scraps
@@HelpAtMyHome Ok, I’ve been adding amazon boxes and leaves too.
how often do you turn it? should turn every 3 days

@@HelpAtMyHome Yes that does work fabulously
I get alot of flies and larvae in mine. Is that good or bad?
Not great. I means your food is rotting not composting. Add more dry stuff like leaves
I just bought this compost tumbler. The instruction manual said not to put it in direct sun. Have you had a problem s leaving yours in the sun all the time?
This one just gets late afternoon sun, which has not been a problem at all.
Do you add worms?
No. This sort of composter doesn’t require them

@@LARRYSCHULTZ1Love that you feel connected to the worms
Wouldn't worms die in heat on composting in a black bin.?
Dump it into a tarp, make it look like a big bowl
2 fence posts and load of u nails will work for height
Push when you spin...easier
