    Douglas plush is a higher end quality brand if they are in good condition. I pick them up if they are in good condition and a good theme.

    That’s a great ReStore. Have you ever been to the Goodwill Outlet? I ventured down to one in Richmond, VA and spotted a Christopher Radko ornament box…that was empty. But, in the next bin over there it was in perfect condition and wrapped in its original cellophane. I would’ve never known to look out for that box if it wasn’t for your videos. Thanks again!

    The snow is beautiful. I live in Lexington, Ky. We had 2 inches of snow on Friday night.
    We moved here a year ago from a suburb of Chicago. We had a Re Store there, but it only had building supplies. The one here in Lexington also has mostly building supplies.
    There aren't too many thrift stores here other than Goodwill. There is 1 Salvation Army store, but they price as if they are a department store.
    Are shoes a good item to resell?

    • @AvanteAvenue
      @AvanteAvenue  6 місяців тому

      The snow is gone and getting warmer today. Doesn’t mean it won’t snow again as we all know. Lol. Yes, some restores only have building supplies. We found that out when going in some and other states and areas.
      As to shoes, we sell a few. I think the most important thing is to check how many are active and how many are sold, what the sell thru rate is and how much they’re selling for. I can be hit and miss. Thanks Sandy!

    Good morning! I have a question unrelated to this video, but 💯 related to your channel. 😊 I found several packs of discounted colored tissue paper. Is that OK to use for shipping dishes? 🤔 TY!

    • @AvanteAvenue
      @AvanteAvenue  6 місяців тому +1

      I’ve always shied away from anything but white because of potential risk for bleeding color. You might wet some and test it out as it lays on a paper towel and see if the color bleads onto the towel. Or, wet the paper towel and lay the tissue paper on it. Hope that helps.

    I think reselling is unethical. The whole point of those stores is to provide goods to those who cannot afford to shop elsewhere, or don't have a way to get to other similar stores, or don't use the internet. They're not playgrounds for people who have nothing better to do with their work day, than steal goods from those less fortunate in order to generate a profit. I've tried to change my mind about this numerous times, I even considered it myself for a hot minute, but truth is truth.

    • @AvanteAvenue
      @AvanteAvenue  6 місяців тому +4

      Hum, let's see....Goodwill is a reseller. Salvation Army is a reseller. Why don't they just give the clothes away for free to the needy? Do you know that Goodwill AND ReStore resell the "best of the donations" on ebay and their own web sites? Have you contacted them to share your viewpoint on how unethical it is to "resell" donated items that are meant for those who can't afford to shop elsewhere?
      Do you realize that if it weren't for resellers, the thrift stores "revenue" to donate to their causes would drop drastically?
      There's no changing anyone's mind, not mine, not yours. You fail to see the reality and benefits of reselling and how resellers purchases give "thrift stores" thousands and millions of dollars a year that they can use for their "projects" to help the needy.
      Enjoy your pious attitude from YOUR virtuous playground. What have you done lately to contribute to the money raised by thrift stores for their cause (and pay a hefty salary to the CEO's)? And, when was the last time you've been in a thrift store? Have you seen the prices they are charging on donated goods (free inventory) to the people who are in need? Facts are facts.

      Consider that there is plenty left on the shelves and plenty left on the racks that just goes on to the landfill. Profit is good not bad, you are the one mixed up.
