    Nice & simple, I like it! Just one thing though. You assume that the cook top is going to be a flat cook top. What about the most common type, coil heating elements? How do you address them?

    • @JLWoodArtistries
      @JLWoodArtistries 3 місяці тому

      I would still make the noodle board the same way. If you don’t like how the coils raise it up off the stove, you could add trim around the bottom edge to raise it up high enough to cover the gap created by the coils. The noodle board is meant to be a decorative accent to the stove and add additional counter space so I don’t think the coils really matter. Does that make sense or did I misunderstand your question?

    hi, love the noodle board! great job. I have a gas stove and would like it to have "feet" on 3 sides to cover the grate. can you do a video making one like that? how would i attach the ledges (feet) to the upper board?

    • @JLWoodArtistries
      @JLWoodArtistries 2 роки тому

      Thanks for the compliment. You could attach them together with wood glue and dowels. You will want the holes in the board to perfectly line up with the feet. Doweling jigs are fairly inexpensive and will help you get the job done easily.

    I’m customizing a 29 1/2 x 19 inches. The boards are #1 white pine. I have cut the boards to 29 1/2 for the width and I’m ripping them down and taking 3/4 off each board to achieve the 19 inch debts. I want to cut the handles on the 45 degree. How close are you putting the ends to the blade at a 45 degree angle? Thank you for the awesome video! You rock and I am a loyal subscriber to your Channel now! Do you have a blog as well?
    Thank you!

      I don’t have a blog but maybe some day if I could ever manage my time better haha. I’m having difficulty understanding what you’ve asked, but I do have suggestion. If you’re using a miter saw and have scrap wood available, you can make a series of miter cuts (45 degree cuts) on the scrap taking a little material off each time until you get the mitered look you’re going for. Then mark a pencil line on the miter saw so you can line up the other boards at the same position you last cut the scrap board at. Hopefully that makes sense.

    • @JLWoodArtistries

      The handles were purchased from Etsy but I don’t have the actual link. You should be able to find similar ones by searching for “Twisted Metal Handles.” Here’s the link for the decorative nail heads: www.amazon.com/Rectangular-Decorative-Clavos-Natural-Finish/dp/B075361JJW. would this work with plywood?

    • @JLWoodArtistries
      @JLWoodArtistries 2 роки тому

      You definitely could use plywood. If you don’t like the look of the exposed plywood edges, you could add solid wood trim or iron on edge banding to cover it.

    • @JLWoodArtistries

    How many boards did you cut

    • @JLWoodArtistries
      @JLWoodArtistries Рік тому

      The size of the stove will usually dictate how big the noodle board needs to be. I used four 1x6 boards but I also trimmed off material on both sides of the boards. That was for the main surface and then I used two 1x4 boards for the perpendicular slats on top. Hope that helps.
