I only wish this game had more destructible environments - being able to see weapons dynamically shred through some crappy blocks and plaster with heavier rounds, would be awesome beyond the basic wall-banging now and then that we have here. Especially when 90% of the maps are gutted buildings.
Wont happen in this engine, even the last Battlefield has less destruction than the previous BF, developers don't care anymore because it's allot more work and seeing there is less destructible environment and buildings/assets, players also don't care.
It was originally going to have that when it was in development during the late 2000s. In fact, the game had fully destructible environments back then. But after that iteration of the project was cancelled, so too was the destruction feature.

When I went to Fallujah they said it would be two day but prepare for a week. We were in that city clearing buildings for six months.

I cant imagine living this for 30 min. Constant fear of the next minute. Chaos and fear. 6 month is torture. Participation in war is absolute torture.

During my time there (Sep06-Apr07) I did see it that bad, couldn't see past 12 feet, thankfully we didn't have a mission in it.

Dude, I played this game for the first time yesterday & my second mission was the night time mission. Let me share something with people who haven't played this yet...
I got paired up with 3 ex-marines who actually served and fought in Fallujah/Iraq. Getting goosebumps typing this because those warriors were THERE, and the way we operated the missions (played together for about two hours) was an experience unlike any other.
Typically, the media-medium of depicting warfare never really makes you understand just how crazy things can get, and as stupid as it may sound... This game broke that medium to where I became genuinely concerned for those I was playing with & the adrenaline that this GAME can give you is surreal..
In the night time mission, there's this insane tension whenever the flare dies out. You have no clue what to expect, the sounds of gunfire stop, then suddenly RPG's and shots start coming at you from directions you cant even see. Then a new flare would be ignited, to which the plan then changes depending on the circumstance.
One of the ex-marines I played with called this game a "documentary" more so than it is a game, and the crazy part about it is you can have a hilarious time playing this game or you could have the most immersive milsim experience the industry has to offer. For what the game is shooting for, I could easily give it a 9/10 and it'll be a 10/10 further into the future
Once a Marine, always a Marine. Ex-Marine is only used for those who leave dishonorably

They are planning adding civilians at some point in the future
This is very pre alpha gameplay, they already plan on adding civilians and there should be once the full game releases
I went through the sandstorm in 2003. I was using a Porta-John when I felt the whole thing shake. I thought for sure someone was trying to tip me over lol. I stood up and started yelling while pulling my pants up. I hit the lock on the door and the wind caught it lol.
The door slammed open and bent on the hinges. Sand was everywhere. I had no eye protection or any protection. Luckily the tent I was staying in was at an angle from where I was. I just started walking with my hands out. I eventually felt the tarp to our tent. I felt the sides until I found the flap then went inside lol.
After about 2 hours the wind died down, but the sand was still in the air. We all put on our eye protection and walked out into the desert and it was red. Everything was this weird Mars red. We tossed a football for a bit while it was happening then went back into the tent to ride it out. Couple days later I was sent on a C-130 to fly into Bagdad International. Good times 🤣.
This game... This game... I remember being excited for this game back in like 2007, hoping it would come out in like 2013. I was heavily into Rainbow Six and SWAT games at the time. I am glad it is out but sad that it came out right in the middle of me not really paying that much attention to FPS games and instead looking at strategies and grand strategies. I will get to it, I am glad it is out but goddamn it was a wild development ride for this one. And it will take me some time to get that tactical shooter itch again (Ready or not really scratched that one and I have not even tried the 1.0)
1.0 has it's issues, but when the game works, it fucking works man.

Seeing this gameplay reminds me of the recent documentary of the revival of Fallujah. They interviewed citizens, investors, and tourists. Crazy what 20 years changes. One man talks about his service, coming back from fighting the Americans and starting a new business. It's all so, strange. How war is so dramatic and it also doesn't matter.

Damn that was intense! Also as another commenter said, destructible environments would be awesome, like Battlefield 3, even if it's toned down, blowing a hole into a wall or building with a shape charge would be sweet, also the tunnels are cool but it would be cooler if let's say 25% of them were able to be gone into and maybe have it so you need to set a couple charges on support beams to collapse it. So far the Devs have done an amazing job, also Drewski and his friends with the sick gameplay to demo the game!

I like the level design in this game. Aside from RoN and this game, almost every tac shooter I see is so lazy in creating convincing levels and buildings especially in the middle eastern theater. you usually just see some wall and windows without anything inside that even resemble a place that people live in. here you can see kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms and in general houses and buildings that make some sense and not just a bunch of assets randomly placed.

Just curious and weird question I know the PEQ system was made around the 90’s around gulf war or so “pls anyone correct me if I’m wrong lol” but we’re they standard issued or was it a specialty item that was only given to certain individuals/groups. Sorry, I’m just curious cause it looked like you had a PEQ 2 system on your rifle at one point in the video haha.

8:42 was chaos, it’s dark and dusty, shooting coming from every crevice and doorway, endless explosions and shouting. The intensity is awesome in this.

I know this is a cqb focused game, but I think a 240 would be a nice edition to the arsenal(not ideal to clear with one, but use it if ya have it)
I think by default two members get M4s (team lead gets a UBGL), one gets a shotgun, and one gets a M249.
