This piece always reminds of Ngaio Marsh's mystery novel "Overture to Death", where one of the characters, Miss Prentice, plays it as her specialty piece. Thanks for bringing to life a piano piece which at first I had only read about!
Thanks so much, Javid. I had no idea that Ngaio Marsh had mentioned it in her book. I used to enjoy her novels when I was a lot younger. I'll add that fact to my video description.
I work for a restored Victorian mansion, and recently I became "in charge" of a pretty extensive music collection from the 1890s. This is one anthology in the collection. Thanks for uploading this! I hope to hear this performed in our house soon!
Thank you for your straightforward reading of this suite. It is terribly easy for Nevin's music to become smarmy and over-sentimental and too many performers succumb to that fault.
Nicely done. Any chance of performing one or all of Nevin's songs from "In Arcady" - A Shepherd's Tale, Shepherds All and Maidens Fair, Lullabye, and Tournament?

So nice of you to play in front of us. Thanks.
Oh what a beautiful city! Thanks for the Pierce.
My pleasure!

Thank you for that. It is very sentimental music, but the sentiment is written into the music, and doesn't need to be added to too much!
Beautiful. Thank you so much. Nevin is hauntingly beautiful to me and you play it so well.
Thanks, Jason - this is a very affecting set of pieces that deserve to be better known.
The "Good night" part has moved me.. Beautiful!
@Babejuda Thank you - a comment specially appreciated from someone who I know lived for a time in Italy, and knows the country better than I do!
Thanks, Pamela!
Truly beautiful songs. Thanks for the post.
Thank you for that. I too hope that the piece is performed in your house (only wish I lived nearby and could do it myself!).
@paopaomanalansan Thank you very much!
A nice suite of pieces.
@Charbonne1 That's a pleasure - it's good of you to watch!
Charming. Thank you!
@ohyeah217 It's a long time since I played any here!
My pleasure4!
They are!

***** Thanks Bob. I'll have a look at the pieces you mention and see if any would be suitable for me!
@gerardbedecarter I think so!
It is supposed to be sentimental. Arthur Loesser knew just how to play these pieces: sincerely!
Well, maybe I would play it differently now, years later!
