Im so glad the color inaccuracies in the backpack don't look bad or wrong at all, I won't feel bad for not color matching that off-white and just leave it gray
I'm already wishing for a "rebuild" version ahead in the new series, like they did with the Aerial. Hopefully there's gonna be some really cool designs like the Pharact and Darilbalde in WFM

The pinstripe areas might be recessed, so slipping in red stickers shouldn't be too bad. There's a couple gray spots that look like markers should do it. The white segments on the backpack "links" might suck if you can't separate them and paint each chunk individually. Overall, still damn impressive for a $20 model!
I believe because the Gundam fans are growing exponentially, they must have newer and fresh designs to appeal to new customers and fans alike. Qcuuuuux is rounded and rather simple/light
Holy sheet im so glad I decided to get into Gundam when i did. This'll probably be the next Gunpla i build after whatever I decide to get for Christmas.
I love the curved shaping of the legs, and the thrusters. But I don't feel like the torso's largely flat hard surface feel meshes well with the legs, shoulders or backpack. I think this design is genius though for different reasons, in terms of how it will be animated. The maneuvering thrusters in the shoulders and legs are well placed given center of gravity, and I believe there's powerful thrusters in the feet as well as the backpack, almost like macross mechs. Having four main thrusters, with this positioning and thrust vector potential shows to me a lot of thought went into this design beyond aesthetic. Probably more so than any other gundam.
This basically confirms my suspicions of how much is plastic and how much will be stickers or need to be painted. Rebuild of Gunpla: "you can (not) build a high grade without paint or stickers."
I think I’m just not feeling the colors. This could be a great base to make a custom with. Maybe going for a “bad guy” color scheme and attaching some obnoxious wings and melee weapons…

Mixed feelings about this. I have a feeling that the anime is going to be one of the best in a while. However I hate the design of this Gundam. It’s just because it’s not what I’m used to but even Ariel didn’t cringe me out this much. Ariel grew on me very quickly, I don’t think this is going to. It’s so insect like and I hate insects as it is. I don’t know, don’t think I’ll be getting this one for my gunpla collection but I do believe I’m going to love the anime. I do also think that other Gundam in the story are going to wow me when compared to this one.

Alright, I've made my decision. I like it as a mech design, but I don't like it as a Gundam design. Gundams are normally immediately recognizable as a Gundam at first glance without context. When I saw the announcement, my first thought was "ooh, new mecha anime" instead of "ooh, new Gundam." From a marketing standpoint, this is a good reaction for a new series, but not for an existing franchise. Recognizability is one the most important factors when it comes to advertising a franchise. A Gundam that isn't immediately recognizable as a Gundam is a failed design. Imagine if Pokemon released a trailer and you didn't realize it was Pokemon until the title popped at the end.
@@switchman368 barbatos at least had the color template right. Mostly white armor, red and yellow highlights here and there, all the blue focused in the chest area. Gquuuuux has blue distributed more across the body and a lot more red than most other main Gundams, throwing the color ratio off. It's the first protag Gundam to ever have red horns, and the only Gundam to have horns that aren't sharp points. Also, wtf are those feet?

i hate the half style joints on elbow, knee also ankle...Imagine mobile suit like Banshee coming and stomp on its joints ...like it did to Delta Plus..m

The yellow doesn't seem too hard to color in..its the red decal stickers that are going to be annoying.

The joint is visible without armor, I think that’s what makes it unusual. I hope they do it like aerial with a 2.0 to be more armored.
