Wind one 230 volt winding Then power up transformer by puting 230 volts on that one winding No parallel windings needed for this test After powering check with amp meter write down amp reading Then add 10 more turns to this single winding Then power it up again with 230 volts again Then check the idle currant again with amp meter write it down Now compare the two readings If the extra 10 turns lowered the idle current then do the same thing again add another 5 or 10 turns Then check with amp meter again write down your 3 amp reading If it is lower you keep repeating this process until the extra turns do not lower the idle current very much This is the way to find out the very best turns per volt for any transformer core Doing math to find turns per volt will only get you close never NO perfect! My way you get perfect turns per volt every time on any core This makes your inverter run perfect with very low losses from idle current My idle current losses are under 18 watts on my 10k inverter and 12 watts on my 4k inverter! Both are esg002 type low freq pure sine inverters When you first power up the transformer on the single winding it my flip your breaker After you get the perfect turns per volt it will not flip your breaker I hope you try my way of finding the perfect turns per volt The transformer will not make any sounds none! No humming nothing no sound at all if you find perfect turns per volt If you keep flipping breaker when powering up transformer you can add a old style light bulb and light switch in series with the transformer If you add the bulb the switch is wired across the bulb So when powering up light switch is in OFF position After it is powered up you flip the switch to on position this bypasses the light bulb I hope you understand the power goes through the light bulb when switch is in OFF position When you turn switch on the power goes threw the switch instead of the bulb because the switch has no resistance and bulb high resistance The switch is wired across the two leads of the bulb When switch is OFF the bulb is light up When switch is ON the bulb is dark not on The bulb slows down in rush current Then the switch is turned ON the bulb goes dark and your transformer is powered up with out flipping breaker The switch bypasses the light bulb Light switch NOT for turning circuit ON and OFF The power 230 volts goes threw the switch instead of the light bulb when switch is on when switch is off the 230 volt goes threw bulb You only need the bulb and switch if you can not power up the transformer because breaker flips You can use a bigger breaker that will handle the inrush current also thanks for your time my friend
