Hi @Freylife, super happy you finally got to be on the Vertex triple combo. I was actually in all 3 phases of the trial drug studies for it And I couldn't believe how big a difference they made. I'm near 40 and they made a huge difference for me personally. Hopefully it does get FDA approved. Thanks Vertex and CF supporters!
With time we all learned to read Peter's face expressions to know how the things really are, and the light in his eyes makes it even better, cause it's happines for your family! It's so great to both your faces shining with joy :)

Is is just me or do other people struggle to read peters facial expressions.
True, sometimes even when they are both saying mostly upbeat things or not much more negative than usual, you can see a sort of tired grim look in Peter's eyes especially, and you know things aren't going too well at all and are actually quite serious. It's lovely to see him look happier and more truly relaxed! And I take my cue from him on how things are really going :).
I was thrilled to see you cleaning the porch with Peter, without as many (if any?) coughing breaks!! So excited.
I know. She’s amazing. I’m a healthy able bodied woman and I’ve never even thought of cleaning my siding of my house. She is so determined and inspiring. Heck!!!! I might even clean my siding tomorrow!!!
I’m beaming with you Mary. I follow you and Peter since Scotland, so I’ve seen the decline slowly happening. And now in 3 weeks you’re so much better. I hope you’re body keeps tolerating the Vertex.

Practice. You have to keep your throat relaxed when you swallow.
Yes, Mary looks so much better, from everything to her color to her aura. I want to place a bet, I bet 5 cents, LOL, that Mary's next PFT will be the best in a long time. You guys are being blessed, Thank God. Praying it all keeps going this way. Lots of love.

Has anyone else noticed a slight difference in Mary's voice? Like it isn't as hoarse as it used to be. So glad the new medication is making a difference 💖 sending love from Australia
I think many of us are speechless, Mary! It is so amazing to see the transformation in your health. I know it isn't a cure but it is just so wonderful to see how much more you are able to do without having coughing and without having to spend hours in bed afterward. It is so wonderful to think of what this drug can do for many other CF patients and I thank God for giving man the understanding needed to create it. It is a miracle.

I’ve watched your vlog since before you left for scotland. I’ve laughed with you and sometimes felt very sad as I’ve seen your health decline, improve a little, then decline a little more. It is so amazingly obvious these past three weeks just how much your health has improved, even as you’ve been so much more active. It is a blessing to be seeing you doing so well!!!!!!

Yes very important to give feedback of course, will help with the FDA approval. Maybe Vertex will give you some free samples, if you go in there saying how great these meds are. It's a thought. So happy to see you not coughing as you did before, such a blessing.
I have one nephew, no kids of my own. He is the light of my life. I so enjoy my time spent with him. He off to college next year. I will miss him so much!
You should put the rug under your dining room furniture! It'll really define the space. So happy for you Mary!!!

This brought me to tears in the best way possible......I’ve been on this journey with you guys since Scotland and I’m just so excited to see this medication working for you and to see you feeling better. My husband, myself and my 14 year old daughter we all have Lupus and I understand the daily struggle of the disease progressively getting worse. In the past year I've really noticed your health getting worse and worse, and I've been here quietly rooting for you, and hoping SOMETHING would happen to make things better for you. I’m really happy the meds have been helping you. It’s been an emotional roller coaster. Recently there was an improvement in research for my eye disorder and it’s been found iris transplants can help! I’m not sure how I feel about that but I do truly see hope for both you and I. PS. I see my favorite chips on the table 6:19
I'm so hopeful that you continue to see even more improvement and that so many other people have the chance to experience the same thing.
Yay for less coughing, Mary! It’s so ironic, because I’m just “learning” to cough. I suppressed it much of my life and swallowed mucus. Now I do my Vest more diligently because every day I look forward to seeing you two (and Ollie) while I shake for 20 min. You are literally a breath of fresh air.

It is amazing that the meds are making things better. In 2011 I lost my best friend to CF when she was just 20. I am so glad there is a medication out there that will make life that much better and longer to those who have CF.

There's a huge difference in your healthy exhaustion, Mary, than when you work as hard as you can on clearing your lungs and between that and the coughing you're worn out in a very different way. I noticed it also when you were packing things in Massachusetts. You were up late, you were really tired - but it was like normal tired. This makes me so happy. Yay!!
Yay for being able to help move furniture! The couch and chairs look great in the family room. My husband and I found a great solid wood round table that can expand for $10 bucks at Goodwill. Vertex makes me so happy that it makes you feel awesome!

It's like your lungs wake up and say hallelujah, isn't it. I'm on a different one for mucus reduction but I remember how it felt when I could go through without rattling and coughing up bunches of mucus. The best part is I haven't even had bronchitis since I've been on it, so far. We always need to be a little cautious. God Bless. 😀👋
