I gotta point out something to everyone thats saying that if you put slicks on a FE car it would be able to compete with a F1 car, it wouldnt, think about it F1 has added slicks not to many years ago, and before that all the tires had treads, for example the f-2004, that F1 car with normal tires would be faster than any modern FE car with slick tires
Nice stuff. I think FE just needs some slicks then they'll be sorted speedwise, thats one big thing the drivers have sort of complained about this year is the lack of grip from the tyres. Majority of the braking on these cars comes from the regen. In fact they dont have any rear brakes, just the regen on the rear. Then they have front brakes plus front regen. Probably a big reason why the braking performance was longer.
The problem with slicks is that they increase energy used a lot, atm battery capacity is the real limiting factor to these cars. Once that will be sorted then electric cars will be able to be even faster than ICE cars, it's just too easy to have crazy power electric engines compared to ICEs

They had grooves in them in the 2000s to slow the cars down, but they were still slick tyres made by using a soft compound of rubber which is always going to be quicker than hard road tyres, which are made to last longer, unlike you do in bed. Anybody who has the slightest bit of knowledge about racing knows that slicks make a car hugely quicker. If that isn't enough for you, remember that FE cars still have a fraction of the downforce F1 cars generate. Their rear wimg isn't really a rear wing and the don't really generate a lot of downforce through the floor. And I believe the floor is where most of their downforce comes from

The front brakes aren't used either, they're there as a backup system in case the regen doesn't slow the car down or fails, from what I understand
