I bought one and it does read below those marks. What i found was that it takes a minute to give a final reading. It will drop below 7.0 for a bit then after a few more seconds settle into a final reading.
Ok, so SOIL also contains WATER, which is required for ion movement. This should be an approximate test. This POS is not approximate. I have the exact one he has. I placed it in a water bottle, which read 6.5-7.0 (it only reads in 0.5 increments). I added sodium bicarbonate, shook, and retested. The pH reading went DOWN to 4.0. I don't care what it is calibrated for. No pH instrument worth its own scrap is going to read hydrogen ions BACKWARDS in any medium. Don't waste your money on this.
Dude you're doing it wrong the instructions tell you not to put it directly in water this specific meter is meant for soil if you're going to test directly in water get a water meter
I mean it's a SOIL ph meter wonder if soil readings and liquid readings make a difference in ph readings, I think you should prepare a soil pot water it with water that has a specific ph and water the soil let it set for a few days check the soil ph and see if it reads the same ph as the water you watered it with
i know it's for soil i know that's not the right way to test it but the company i bought it from said to do this test just like this to prove to them it didn't work . so i did because that's the way they wanted me to prove to them it didn't work so i could get my money back. it didn't make sense to me either but stupid is as stupid does
@MrAbletospeak moisture in soil and water are measured differently. Get a water meter for pH in water; use this soil meter to test pH in soil. Used this for years and works just fine.
If you read the instructions it says DON’T put the soil meter into water. Go get a water ph meter

Thats its a "soil" meter!!!

Trop tard j'ai acheté cette merde
Not intended as a water ph test device. It measures the ph of DRY soil. 🙄
Does it give accurate results in all aspects?

Doesn't work in soil either, got this one and it's junk/scam
I have one and it works fine... It's a (SOIL) PH TESTER... Not a water tester... It's designed for testing (SOIL)...🤦🏾
It's to be used in soil only. Mines doesn't work either.
