@@etthelost six years and he didnt do what cuban ask! If nash and dirk would have won before then he would have increase his salary every year after that
Dirk, Finley, and Nash should have won a championship together and really just needed a couple of pieces. Nash were just what Dallas needed after Kidd departure. When we had that trio that was the most exciting basketball Dallas had witnessed in a long time.
Thank you for these highlights. I started watching my Suns in 06 mid series vs the lakers. I never realized he was this quick and explosive prior to his second stint with the Suns. Would have been awesome to see him in today's NBA. He would be lethal shooting more while still having his vision
maaannn this guy threw perfectly placed passes dead in the center of traffic still giving his players enough room to maneuver and score and he also drove to lane like a dodge ram , sad to say he never won a ring but the 3 mvps let the world know that he was an elite player hes fckin legendary
The shiftiness, the change of direction, the mental dominance, the floaters, the scoop shots, the fadeaways, the body control... no one can do it quite like he did it. Everyone knows it was frustrating for opponents getting dominated by athletes like Jordan and Kobe, but there had to be a unique sort of demoralization that came from not being able to stop this short, slow dude with the flowing hair.
I'll never understand why Camera quality was actually worse for a couple years in the early 2000s, than it was in the 90s, before ultimately getting drastically better by like '03-04
in the early days of digital filming and lcds, film was superior, and some of the tube tvs were just as good as panasonic and sony lcds. some of what you say may be because the film has been digitised, transfered to computer, etc.
Transition pains from peak analog technology to early digital technology. The music industry has this same issue in the 80s because all the early digital recorders were 16-bit (CD quality). Stanley Kubrick's 1968 film 2001 Space Odyssey shot on 70mm is higher res than 4k digital. Best we can hope for is A.I. tools to fix these low fidelity transition periods... *sigh*
@@coreyt1217 Dirk got injured in the 2003 WCF There's also the context of Nash having prolific back issues when he was let go. Suns training staff was top of the line at the time. Otherwise he probably woulda retired 5 years earlier than he did, and he certainly wouldn't have won 2 MVP's
stop disrespecting him talm bout he was a system player, before he went to Phoenix he was tuff af, and after shaq left for the east, dallas would've got a ring way before 2011
Haha yeah Mark Cuban was always interested in signing international players. Also got Yi Jianlian later on. Jeremy Lin and Ding Yanyuhang both played for the Mavs Summer League team too.
If he and Dirk would have stayed together their chemistry would have kept improving and they would have gotten better together. They would have won a championship.
And he wasn't just a all star player he would had won a Nba championship if it wasn't for the spurs anyways cause if it wasn't for the all them injuries the suns had they would had won it all back then
There's some dumb overdribbling in these clips that he got away with do to his ridiculous penetrating handle and flip no look finishes . In general he was a penetrate and pitch guy . Elbow jumpers and fallaways were deadly . Efg % was high. What this doesn't show is he actually didn't shoot more than 12 shots perg. In fact in only 2 seasons did he shoot more than 13 perg. Much better in transition than 1/2 court game. Ambidextrous dribbles changes of pace reverse turnarounds 50 90 40 10 assists and 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio. Incredible balance used to love his penetrating to baseline and tip toeing it till a cutter appeared . Sometimes he'd cycle through and just come back out to reset frustrated defenders. Still he over dribbled and had playoff troubles because it's more 1/2 court. Circus performer like a unicyclist
They call it Nashting now. Probing the defense. Not over dribbling if you end up getting bucket. You are correct about his shooting. He was so efficient he should have shot 20 times a game, including a ton more three's. Partly coaches fault. They didn't have the metrics back. He'd play like Curry today. He'd probably average 25 and 12.
Steve Nash must replace Majic Johnson as the all-time best point guard . Majic must replace Michael Jordan as the all-time best NBA player . Jordan must become the all-time best shooting forward . Times after times ..

@@babyigotchomoney no. He was a free agent and Cuban didn't wanna pay him and wouldn't match Phoenix' offer.

When Steve & Dirk played together for those few years that was the most exciting time for me in my boring life..lol
Nash on the Mavericks was a story that I didn’t believe was real.
Same here, I didn't believe my dad when he said Nash used to be a maverick
Dirk, Finley, and Nash should have won a championship together and really just needed a couple of pieces. Nash were just what Dallas needed after Kidd departure. When we had that trio that was the most exciting basketball Dallas had witnessed in a long time.

Yep the NBA transition to ESPN was an eyesore for awhile
STILL MAD THAT CUBAN LET HIM LEAVE!
I feel you man.
Same here they just needed help on the defensive end.
I'm with that 100 percent because if he stayed they'd won a chip all the teams that posed threats were pretty much split up other than the spurs
in life at times you have to do what's necessary no matter HOW BAD it makes others feel seriously period no questions asked AT ALL PERIOD
Cuban , how could he let him go . Dirk and Steve could have won championships together. Dirk and Steve, Kobe and Shaq, Parker and Dunkin.
Damn. I though his Phx run was the best but this... he's faster and more explosive here.
What could have been!
His Phx run I still think is his best but you could argue he was just as exciting here
Underappreciated player. Shaq is a sore loser, this guy had game
This needs a Part II.
WOW AMAZING His singles ability is very strong
Man we win at least two if nash stays I'll argue with whoever want to argue
Nope
Nah deadass Nash and Dirk, both in their prime !? Smh I would say two for sure and I’m not even a Mavs fan.

The actual Prime time of Nash but dam where can I finally cop those Nike air zoom; Nash Dallas Mavericks sneakers ??????
Breaking up steve and dirk was crazy
Sho Nashty!!
Biggest mistake Mark Cuban ever made. He stays in Dallas they become the dominant west franchise in the late 2000s and not the Lakers
Yep, for sure all they to do is work on defense.
What could have been...
Yea what could have been I think they could get 1 ring .
@macewbee nah nash wasn't as good in Dallas. He was better in phx. Plus don delson didn't like to utilize nash it was about dirk
