But still it is a damn good vehicular combat game.
Yea as a kid I was like aw shit sweet tooth is on fire and shit like that. Going back now and seeing the story and atmosphere how the fuck did this game not scare me as a kid lol shit is so dark and edgy is pathetic and amazing at the same time I love it

giftofgab247 I can’t agree more that darker does not mean better. Nothing irritates me more than when people think the dark Knight is a better made filmed in avengers endgame or more impressive in anyway. But they absolutely nailed the dark atmosphere in this game. Especially with sweet tooth performance and his dialogue and the opening cut scene through the destroyed street when paint it black plays and the art design. I just absolutely love it. 15:26-15:47 That's the same problem I have with Grand Theft Auto IV. While I admit that it's a fairly solid and well-made game, I wasn't a fan of the gloomy and depressing theme.
Yes! Someone giving out some Twisted Metal love for once. One of my favorite game series for sure. The PS3 Twisted Metal has got to be the best goddamn online multiplayer game if you are in the know. The community is uber small now. Maybe a couple hundred people at most but the matches are so fun and intense. Such an underrated experience IMO.
Twisted Metal: Black is my favorite Twisted Metal game. When I saw that Minion returned and what he looked like I was ecstatic! He was badass in Black and his character design looked brutal with the bloody bison skin over his head. I'll never forget the morning I woke up and saw Twisted Metal: Black sitting on the table! Man, i was so excited!
I honestly think that Black has the worst Minion design. If you look at his design in the earlier games, he's a freakin' tank on wheels, which makes him terrifying enough, but when you factor in his special weapon and speed, that only makes him more of a pants-shitter. In Black, he's an oil-tanker with a flamethrower; "holy crap, how original and terrifying at the same time!" I don't mean to be a debbie-downer, but there's far more to fear in a quick-moving tank with wheels than an oil-tanker.
@@connorlee3704 sure, it's not as cool as the tank he was in earlier games but it's not a bad design. Minion was meant to be intimidating and that was pulled off well in Black.
@@Deadman_Elit3 But what about the oil-tanker design is intimidating? I didn't feel an ounce of "OH SHIT!" just by looking at him in Black and that definitely wasn't there in the fight with him once the shield was gone.
@@connorlee3704 he was huge, had an overshield, and had a devastating special. If you look at it that simply of course you're not going to be wowed by it
Black is easily my favorite I love the theme the stories and wish the game had a legit sequel. As for the ai hard level isn’t even necessary to say the least lol
shockingly brutal tone and atmosphere, supremely satisfying and fast paced combat, excellent character roster, tons of little details like the way each individual vehicle has seperate animations for each special weapon, plays like a dream, runs at a smooth frame rate, the absolute peak of the series and one of the very best games on ps2
TMB for PS4 shareplay only allows for Co-op or 2 player action. Apparently it does not support 4 player multiplayer like the PS2 version. Mind you, the online portion of TMB (called TMBO) that was separate from TMB is back online via a fan server. That game features 8 players online and has tons of different modes and options not featured in regular TMB multiplayer. Along with gameplay tweaks. And that is only playable on a PS2 or BC PS3.
mcpiece123 , Is there an online source for some sort of gameplay mode chart including AI options for the TM series covering splitscreen multiplayer, PS1 serial system link, PS2 LAN and PS2 internet / NETplay?
I know how you feel about spamming specials. because of this i really hate Axel. Anyway this is my favorite TM game of the series. Head On being a second.
"No supernatural elements" Sweet tooths head is literally on fire Black is an alien No face has no eyes or tongue but can talk and drive Billy ray survived a crop duster spraying deadly chemicals on him Charlie kane and son His son brought him back to life with a machine and remote control and drives a car Yeah "everyday normal people" right? Im sorry but this was the worst point in the video retrospectively looking at it.
In order to truly love TM Black, you have to fully understand the hidden main story that all of it takes place in Sweet Tooths head. It's the way he sees the world. Minion is Sweet Tooths alter Ego "Marcus" Kane, fighting for control, but ultimately lost to his in control ego "Needles" Kane. That's why he speaks in code and tries to hide his identity with the Bison skin covering his face. All of this also helps make sense of everybody's story basically ending poorly for them, while Sweet Tooths story ends exactly how he wanted it to. Some of the other characters stories that involve Sweet Tooths, like Warthogs where he wants to kill Sweet Tooth, end with Sweet Tooth prevailing. Also, if you look at the character selection screen, Sweet Tooth is the ONLY character who sits in the middle of the Unlockables, in between Minion and the others. This could in a way imply that Minion is actually the start of the "Normal" characters and Sweet Tooth is actually sitting in the "Boss" slot. So if it truly all is in his head, it would make sense that Sweet Tooth sees himself different from the "Normals" and in the "Boss" slot. Also the ONE character who basically has no story other than hes destined to kill Calypso, and seems to be a Demon of sort, is ironically named "Black" while driving "Manslaughter" which are basically the two main themes with Sweet Tooths mindset. He doesnt see the world in color anymore, and he always wants to kill people. Also, him and Sweet Tooth share the same end goal, killing Calypso.
They may have later made it that way but their stories are convoluted. In the first game it's clear there different characters with different agendas. They even had their own fmv endings. The best explanation is that there each in different universes and that when they get to black, then that's the universe where it takes place in sweet tooth head.
Twisted Metal: Black was so SICK and TWISTED and I loved it, One of the best games i ever played in my opinion!!! How could you not like the dark and depressing shit this is why most people prefer Batman over superman if you’re into twisted shit twisted metal black is where it’s at!!!
Exactly I don't know what this fool in the video talkin about. His favorite character is sweet tooth who's a serial killer but yet he's talking about this game is too dark, man get the fuck outta here.
You get the fuck out of here! If you wanna know what the Hell this guy is talking about, look at how TM was in between '95 and '00. It was a hair-metal Mad Max that knew what it was and how to treat itself, then Jaffe went and fucked it all up with Black. If you like Black, that's fine by me, but don't blind yourselves and act like this is what Twisted Metal always was and how it should've been from the start; hell, I'm pretty sure snapping "Twisted Metal" is a bit of a stretch as it is.
My favorite console Twisted Metal games from least to most favorite. *Never played Twisted Metal 4 5. Twisted Metal: 2012 4. Twisted Metal 3 3. Twisted Metal Original 2. Twisted Metal 2 1. Twisted Metal: Black
The pure fact that you could drive around with no direction and blow up other enemies or competition, was the best thing about the twisted metal franchise. My absolute favourite character was Mr grim in the purple hearse. His special weapon was a ghost shoot along the ground, and when it got near your enemy of choice, you push the button for a massive explosion. Vigilante eight was also another cool Game with the same game lines is twisted metal driving and shooting your opponents. but not as awesome as twisted metal
I really liked the dark and morbid theme of this game, although at times I did think "Would it kill this game to have some sunlight?" Also you've probably been told this a thousand times already, but Black did have some supernatural moments. Calypso could seemingly take people where they wanted to go, or make the person they wanted revenge on appear. Also Raven was a witch, sure she was more of a goth witch, but she did have some powers judging from Shadows special. Also Black was some sort of demon, although his story was hidden for the most part. Also in Australia, this game was butchered by the censorship board. No cutscenes, no message from the character during the loading screen, no drivers running out on fire, no shooting down a 747 (although that was most likely due to 911 happening, not too long before this games release). Even when 2012 came out, Black was still censord, which I still argue is an insult.
New favorite UA-camr I swear Thank you so much for making these game reviews and they show me even for myself what a really well done review is keep it 100%
I always loved the character selection screen and how the camera zooms from the face of the character, then out of the vehicle. Truly genius and creative. Really made me feel like im playing as that character and not just picking a car
Wow... One of the best games ever, for me. I used to like EVERY possible TM out there, 1 was my least fav, I used to like 2 and 3 alot more, 4 was great aswell for me... Hell even SB was awesome :D Head-On was the best when it comes to lore and very decent play wise back on the PSP. I never tried the one for ps3, my ps3 gave up on life back then and I was cba to get a new one. Back to topic, Black remains my favorite, the theme, cars, guns, sound, music, everythin was just awesome! (My opinion!)
I got it around same age as you but started with 1 and lead up to it. I also didn’t like black only because for some reason like physically it bothered me how dark in color everything was. It made the game a chore to play. Physical game play lighting made me not play this title much
You should check out Motor Mayhem and Vigilante 8 on PS2 and PS1 respectively, those games are meant to be fantastic alternatives to Twisted Metal. Motor Mayhem is a small, but very fun car combat, the gameplay is quite exciting, even though it's thin on content, but its quite fun if you want a different Twisted Metal style experience every once a while. Same thing for Vigilante 8 and its sequel, 2nd Offense, fantastic games and amazing excitement! Go give them a try! I love all the cool car combat games too!
To anyone playing black in 2020: do not pick drive in on your first go if you're new to the franchise; this is easily the hardest of the non boss levels. The amount of enemies in such a confined space and lack of healing stations makes this level borderline unbearable.
Although I've been often annoyed at the fact that enemies only attack you in most TM games, Black takes it to a whole other level that's actually pretty funny in a way. If there's only three or four opponents left, they all will sometimes actually band together in a group and collectively hunt you down. Like a literal finger-snapping gang.
Hey Man, very good review. I am just getting in the franquise now, so, do you think its woth to play the 4 classic PS1 games today, as somone that never played them? Do they still hold up?
Twisted Metal Black TL; DP Sweet Tooth makes up fanfiction about his other cell mates and himself because he misses being outside causing mass genocide.
00:56 - PS1's Twisted Metal III (NTSC-U) enables a 'system link' of a pair of older, serial port equipped PS1s which expands the multiplayer experience quite a bit - like Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 - giving each of two players full screen PoV or on up to 4 players via split-screens - 2 players per console - over the PS1 'network' with, IIRC, co-op play in addition to selecting AI allies, their spawning rotation per round and spawning constraints.
I remember the image of the clown at all kinds of game stores I used to go to as a kid. Whatever it was, I thought it looked cool and I wanted to play the game, but I never did nor saw any gameplay images\videos until now. Thanks for filling in that void.
How does the Playstation 4 version compare with the Ps2 version? Would you recommend other similar car battle games? I’m not familiar with the genre so recommendations are welcome!
This was my first TM and I really love it. However I can respect your opinion being that I too have been dissatisfied when a series changes tone. To each their own.
This has been the deepest, most dense dive into TM:B in a single video I have come across on UA-cam. 'Thanks!' from a relative noob getting to know gameplay and appreciate the title and its context within the series.
12:26 - an interesting polar opposite style of gameplay regarding pedestrians when contrasted to Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 (PS1 title made by the same team?) which has a focus on picking up pedestrian tourists and taking them to photogenic opportunities in exchange for funds to upgrade your vehicle.
Fun fact: Thumper was planned for Black, as they even had concept art for the character, but was ultimately cut due to the developers not being able to think up of a storyline for the vehicle that would be dark enough to fit into the Black universe..
6:32 - No idea Warkawk boss was a nod to another game nor connection therein. Will be enjoying Warhawk with a newfound perspective.... Thought that TM 1 & 2 crew were also affiliated with another, similar title for the PS1 - Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 ?
Though I normally like dark styled things, I have to agree on this one. The only time I ever liked TM Black was when I was 14 playing my first mature rated game. I'd probably still like it if it were fun but even when I was amused by all it's edginess, the gameplay never did much for me. Actually haven't played a twisted metal game in years but I think my favorite was 2. No other game in the series had my heart pumping like when dark tooth chases you around hong kong.
No it's literally just a theory. Jaffe wrote Minion like that because he was out of ideas and just didn't want to make another 3 part story for him. So he made minion like this because he thought it would be cool for fans that actually gave a shit, but it's not actually apart of the story in any way shape or form. There is NO continuity to Twisted Metal. At all.
I love to black, I remember getting this and rob zombies sinister urge the same day but I will say I prefer the lighter cartoony style of the first 4, maybe because I grew up on those first but either way twisted metal needs a comeback to its roots I think
I really enjoy the fast pace of Twisted Metal Black. My only grips with the game is, as you mentioned, the A.I.. Playing on Hard difficult can be really frustrating when all your opponents like to either run from you while back spamming weapons, chase you relentlessly, or just completely gang up on you. Sometimes your health will already be in the yellow at the start of a match because the A.I. are firing at you nonstop, and it doesn't help either that health in this game takes forever to respawn, let alone give you enough energy to fill confident to get back into the fray. If they'd either fix the A.I. to go for each other once in a while or make health respawn more frequently, then I wouldn't have much an issue. Overall a fun game.
In my opinion - best atmosphere and story goes to TM Black, best soundtrack goes to TM2 and best gameplay goes to TM Head-On. I can totally see where you come from with your opinion on Black, though - a huge departure from the rest of the series. I actually don't like Sweet Tooth in this game, or any other after. The flaming head shirtless slasher clown is meh, I really liked his TM1 character design. I can find enjoyment in the gameplay out of all the games in the series, except 3 and 4 but that's only from my memory. Since you are such a fan of TM3, I will try it out again. To be honest, I used to think TM4 was better but I'll just have to see. Great reviews, though - I'm such a fan of the series and it's great seeing someone give in-depth analyses. I'd love to see you continue reviewing the series, but I have subscribed and will check out any content you upload.
Gaming Pastime I did like Minion's driver in Black, but the tanker truck was kinda lame. Would've been awesome having the classic APC in the game. Sucks that it wasn't in Head-On either.
I know what you mean , Black went a little overboard on Sweet tooth , the original with the iconic Sweet tooth laughing sfx was brutal , I did love the transformation his vehicle did in black though
Yeah I understand what you where expecting, and even more if you always play TM from your childhood I became to know TM games when I was a teenager and I fucking love it, almost all of them. Becoming to a darker tone and mess with more serious themes for me was the natural evolution, and for the first time the characters where not only a comic book funny npc, with some lame fmv to see at the end, they all are broken and messed up-that feelin that they dont have nothing to loose it really flows with me on every car I choose. But you are right in two things, some maps are too gloomy in vain in my opinion, and even the developers wasn't too sure too have a sequel (Harbour City) with this same tone, and the IA sucks, it doesn't have any sense if this is a contest, was really frustating.
Harbor City was to be a mix of light/dark like in TMPS3 except with colorful characters as seen on findings and interviews on TMA, the game had a clear mix of colorful TM2/dark Black vehicles with many colorful Head-On models featured in Harbor City prior to Head-On being conceived, this is also seen on Dark Tooth's ending in TMHO fusing Marcus/Needles (light/dark) together and Black's description in TM: Lost. Even if it wasn't, the game being scrapped had nothing to do with the tone and everything to do with the shit ideas of on-foot segments and interconnected highways, among other reasons.
the issue i had with the campy stories is that never cared or liked any of the characters becuz it was money, fame, or other materialism or self indulgent wish while Twisted Metal Black almost made every character sympathetic or at least understandable. Raven, Dollface, Agent Stone, Charlie Kane are good examples. i doubt any other Twisted Metal will ever come out that was this dark & filled with pathos or brutality
I really enjoyed the dark depressing tone of Black. It has stuck with me all these years. That being said, this was an excellent review and well thought out. Subscribed 🤘
I agree with everything, except You saying about the way the game is. The game actually makes you want revenge and make you understand people with mental issues and I've enjoyed it and they are Fucking crazy indeed.
Best game in the series by far. For context I was introduced to the series 1, 3, 2, black, small brawl, TM 2012. The game play is so refined and the atmosphere and storytelling is top notch. I was invested in every character.
It is unbelievably annoying when the enemies actually go after health in Twisted Metal 3 and 4. It kinda makes me never want to play those games even though I own them. My biggest problem with black is I hate how turbo is no longer the triangle button. I always hit turbos on accident in Black. I also wish that they kept the advanced attack combos the same as in 2. I also wish that they made it a little bit brighter so it's easier to see.
One of my personal FAVs, aside from TM4. The downside in this game for me is the game can be too dark sometimes... Literally, I could barely see shit at the best conditions. I used to got a digital copy on the PSN store for the PS3, then many years later I happily stumble upon a fresh copy of TM Black from my local FIELDS for $5. Also bought Sly 3 for the same price.
I had great memories playing twisted metal 1 on the original PlayStation. Yet, I never played part 2 until the PS3 was out already. After part 1, I went to play twisted metal 3 and I loved it. I spent hours with my brother and cousin playing part 3. Your not alone, I really enjoy part 3 despite the hate lol.
Weird...TMB was my introduction to the series; in fact, I believe it's the only one I've played to date. I loved the dark atmosphere, but what's weird is that I also found a lot of humor and tongue-in-cheek stuff throughout the game. Maybe you have to have a dark/warped sense of humor to get it, but I felt like TMB never took itself too seriously, despite its dark tone and themes.
Black is a classic. The stories were great and that credit scene with “Paint it Black” playing is epic. I wish they would’ve continued with these themes. I loved it
they did in 2012?
Before the 2012 reboot, Black ALMOST has a follow-up, titled Harbor City. But due to the whole 'plane crash' crap, the project was stopped.
Twisted Metal Black is my favorite game in the series. It had memorable characters, well designed vehicles, awesome arenas to battle in, and some of the best and gruesome story lines I have ever seen. I really wished Harbor City was finished. Rachel Zhou how can I buy twisted metal for the PS4?
Marckuss Williams which one? You can probably buy the older ones on the PS Store.
notgonnapay ok thank u
It was part of my childhood even tho I shouldn't have played M rated games lol and yes also loved the dark theme as well
Marckuss Williams you can buy Black though psn store and you can get TMX if you have ps now
This game holds a special place in my heart. I was about 8 the first time I played it, and my dad straight up told me not to play story mode.
Why not? 🤔
Black has the best atmosphere the best characters weapons and battlegrounds it's unique and controversial the stories are really cool and are memorable
Also the ost is the darkest ost I have ever heard
not to mention the ambient tracks
I really wish they would have kept this series going

@@connorlee3704 sure, it's not as cool as the tank he was in earlier games but it's not a bad design. Minion was meant to be intimidating and that was pulled off well in Black.
@@Deadman_Elit3 But what about the oil-tanker design is intimidating? I didn't feel an ounce of "OH SHIT!" just by looking at him in Black and that definitely wasn't there in the fight with him once the shield was gone.
@@connorlee3704 he was huge, had an overshield, and had a devastating special. If you look at it that simply of course you're not going to be wowed by it
@@Deadman_Elit3 Seeing as how you're putting it the same way, what is there to be wowed on the topic of him?
And that is only playable on a PS2 or BC PS3.
mcpiece123 I have an online disc how do we connect
Calm that DOWN and mcpiece123 ,
Did you two connect online for TM:B-O ?
mcpiece123 ,
Is there an online source for some sort of gameplay mode chart including AI options for the TM series covering splitscreen multiplayer, PS1 serial system link, PS2 LAN and PS2 internet / NETplay?
Is TMB for Playstation 4 a physical copy? I searched for someplace selling the disc and didn’t find it.
@@majorgear1021 To my knowledge there are only digital versions available, nothing disc since PS2
I know how you feel about spamming specials. because of this i really hate Axel. Anyway this is my favorite TM game of the series. Head On being a second.
+DarkMortimer Axel AI was ruthless in TM2, iirc. So was Mr Slam.
@@Gamingpastime64 True
Great review. This is my favorite in the series, even after revisiting it last year. You really did this game justice despite not liking it. Bravo
"No supernatural elements"
Sweet tooths head is literally on fire
Black is an alien
No face has no eyes or tongue but can talk and drive
Billy ray survived a crop duster spraying deadly chemicals on him
Charlie kane and son
His son brought him back to life with a machine and remote control and drives a car
Yeah "everyday normal people" right?
Best twisted metal in my opinion
There is a witch literally. There is time travel, there is a character that can put curses on people and obviously cursed people lol
My favorite console Twisted Metal games from least to most favorite.
*Never played Twisted Metal 4
5. Twisted Metal: 2012
4. Twisted Metal 3
3. Twisted Metal Original
2. Twisted Metal 2
If you could. Could you please review twisted metal 4?
Yes. We plan to review it.
Do a Review of War of The Monsters PS2!
New favorite UA-camr I swear Thank you so much for making these game reviews and they show me even for myself what a really well done review is keep it 100%
3 was fine, and it's why i fell in love with heavy music. 4 was ok black was amazing
Dont pick this up in the uk even on psn, its missing ALL cut scenes.
So is all ps2 versions too
I loved Twisted Metal 2 but the story telling in Twisted Metal Black especially Sweet Tooth man oh man I love it.
I always loved the character selection screen and how the camera zooms from the face of the character, then out of the vehicle. Truly genius and creative. Really made me feel like im playing as that character and not just picking a car
You will have tons of subscribers. Great work!
Black was my first exposure to the series and 2012 was my second. The gameplay is the only thing keeping me away from the older games.
Motor Mayhem looks cool. I've played V8. It's not too bad.
That's cool to know.
To anyone playing black in 2020: do not pick drive in on your first go if you're new to the franchise; this is easily the hardest of the non boss levels. The amount of enemies in such a confined space and lack of healing stations makes this level borderline unbearable.
Black and The original were the best for sure
Although I've been often annoyed at the fact that enemies only attack you in most TM games, Black takes it to a whole other level that's actually pretty funny in a way. If there's only three or four opponents left, they all will sometimes actually band together in a group and collectively hunt you down. Like a literal finger-snapping gang.
Hey Man, very good review. I am just getting in the franquise now, so, do you think its woth to play the 4 classic PS1 games today, as somone that never played them? Do they still hold up?
absolutely. I would recommend the original for the soundtrack alone.
Gaming Pastime okay man, thanks for answer. I think I am going to start playing as soon as possible.
I guess you could say you
"Miss the old colorful world";)
Twisted Metal Black TL; DP Sweet Tooth makes up fanfiction about his other cell mates and himself because he misses being outside causing mass genocide.
Minions character isn’t new he’s Marcus cane. He was a driver in the OG series. Roadkill. He is needles cane or something like that lol
God forbid a series ever change after four plus games lol
TM3 had the best sound track of the series.
Psyrecx and you can listen to it on any CD player, same with TM4 if I'm not mistaken.
Too much whining here.
How do I zoom out gameplay screen?
Cars are too close
I remember the image of the clown at all kinds of game stores I used to go to as a kid. Whatever it was, I thought it looked cool and I wanted to play the game, but I never did nor saw any gameplay images\videos until now. Thanks for filling in that void.
How does the Playstation 4 version compare with the Ps2 version?
Would you recommend other similar car battle games? I’m not familiar with the genre so recommendations are welcome!
This was my first TM and I really love it. However I can respect your opinion being that I too have been dissatisfied when a series changes tone. To each their own.
Relative to the TM topic here, is a review of 'Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012' and the TM3 serial port link experience pertinent?
This has been the deepest, most dense dive into TM:B in a single video I have come across on UA-cam. 'Thanks!' from a relative noob getting to know gameplay and appreciate the title and its context within the series.
Calypso: "Normally you get one wish but I know what you want so just join my game"
Black is the best in the series no questions asked
Fun fact: Thumper was planned for Black, as they even had concept art for the character, but was ultimately cut due to the developers not being able to think up of a storyline for the vehicle that would be dark enough to fit into the Black universe..
6:32 - No idea Warkawk boss was a nod to another game nor connection therein. Will be enjoying Warhawk with a newfound perspective.... Thought that TM 1 & 2 crew were also affiliated with another, similar title for the PS1 - Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 ?
I believe they were.
"one theory"
Not a theory, it's literally the big reveal via those cryptic messages you referenced earlier in your review dude.
If you watch the second part of the TM Retrospective featuring Jaffe, he smashes this idea to pieces.
At all.
It seems almost every series goes for a super serious tone in a certain game.
my uncle worked for incognito and help develop the 3d models for this game
SATAN 666 that can’t be true, right?
Doom Demon! It is very true!
SATAN 666 Your uncle told you this, right?
My uncle worked for crystal dynamics he put the big boobs on Lara croft's model.
I love to black, I remember getting this and rob zombies sinister urge the same day but I will say I prefer the lighter cartoony style of the first 4, maybe because I grew up on those first but either way twisted metal needs a comeback to its roots I think
I remember I found like 4 Easter eggs by myself
I got this for free on PSN back in 2017, and it's a good game. It the best vehicle combat video game ever, and the best in the franchise. Fact!
Yeah Black was one of my favorite Twisted Metal game and one of my Childhood games even tho it scares me a lot 😂
Okay....which is the BEST version of Sweet Tooth? Original, 2, 3, 4, Small Brawl, Black, Head On, or the most recent one
I like his depiction in Head-On.
Gaming Pastime oh yeah. I feel like it's a good mix between the murderous crazy Sweet Tooth and the more goofy side
Exactly.
Black
Hes more insane
Twisted Metal Black was the best! So dark and depressing just like I’ve turned out.
The dark tone to this game is the best thing bout it man
In my opinion - best atmosphere and story goes to TM Black, best soundtrack goes to TM2 and best gameplay goes to TM Head-On.
+TheKillerDonuts I'm in the minority with three but in my opinion, it has the best iteration of Minion.
Just Some Guy I felt they hit the perfect spot for the Characters of Head on. Like Needles and Marcus Kane, That whole story arc is so cool.
Black was SO FUCKING DARK. It revitalized the series...then it fizziled out. Loved Black. The last CLASSIC Twisted Metal game.
the issue i had with the campy stories is that never cared or liked any of the characters becuz it was money, fame, or other materialism or self indulgent wish while Twisted Metal Black almost made every character sympathetic or at least understandable.
I agree with everything, except
You saying about the way the game is. The game actually makes you want revenge and make you understand people with mental issues and I've enjoyed it and they are Fucking crazy indeed.
The snowfall effect in this game was so cool
I had this game when i was younger but i had no clue what i was doing
Best game in the series by far. For context I was introduced to the series 1, 3, 2, black, small brawl, TM 2012. The game play is so refined and the atmosphere and storytelling is top notch. I was invested in every character.

@@Gamingpastime64 cool man
I like Twisted metal 2012 the best ... Mainly the online and the Story though the story was far from the best I wish it did individual stories
I bet a remaster that replaces the textures/lighting would sell fairly well.
Can someone please tell me how can I buy twisted metal for the ps4?
Solid review that covers pretty much everything and gives a personal point of view, liked it. A lot
I like the camp for the previous games.
