In this compilation video, we go over multiple clips that range from mountain lion attacks, cougar encounters and even puma spottings. What makes these ''caught on camera'' moments so scary is the fact that they were filmed in remote areas like a forest, the arizona or california desert or even national parks.
We even feature a moment where a man comes face to face with a cougar stalking him. He was stalked by a cougar. Other clips feature police vs cougar moments and some feature clips where turkey hunting adventures go wrong for two young hunters. These wild cats can be very scary. You could almost call this a ''mountain lion vs dog'' moment. Some of these creepy videos even feature moments where people were chased down by these animals, which are known to attack or stalk people who are out camping, hunting or mountain biking in the wild.
These mountain lion vs man moments are sure to give you the chills and the fact that some people were lucky enough to capture these near death experiences on gopros ou on tape makes it even crazier. Some of these have even gone wrong, but some of the hikers were lucky enough to be carrying bear spray and to have their dogs with them.

The hiker being stalked. Glad he was paying attention.

The fist guy made one massive mistake- He turned and ran. Running activates a predator instinct, and turning your back exposes you to an easy attack. That man is lucky to still be alive
Yeah you NEVER run from a predator especially a mountain lion that has you on speed and agility. The best thing you can do is treat it like a bear because they have sensitive hearing. Stand your ground, face towards the animal AT ALL TIMES and start yelling with your arms waving in the air, making yourself look bigger. Also, if your area has bear or mountain lions, either bring a firearm and/or bear spray. Bear spray will most definitely work on mountain lions, it hinders their sight and their ability to smell which they need to attack properly. 9 times out of 10 it will bolt as soon a you shoot it with the spray.
Exactly predators read body language perfectly. soon as he stood back his ground and held eye contact, the cougar didn’t approach him because he displayed confidence
He made another huge mistake before that. Stay strapped when going into the wilderness.

@@BCastless Definitely high pitch. If it bleeds from the ears, you know you are doing it right haha
When that guy ran in the first clip and the cougar followed him I got the chills.

He did the worst thing you can do when dealing with a predator, turning your back and running

But the scars they might leave may be as deep as any !

Haaahahaaa
You're lucky. Usually those cougars are still feasting off the ex husbands money while stalking the next ones bank accounts.
The cougar i encountered was very friendly. We did tequila shots together.

No way I’d go hiking in the real forest/woods without at least a pistol.
I was literally sayin the same thing, never go camping without some sorta weapon at least
Lol u want something a little bigger than a pistol bud. Pistols are for people and weaker animals like rabbits and most domestic dogs, a a cougar is more likely to back off from a good shot, but a bear would be merely stunned but not stopped.

The guy in the first video turned and ran, that is one thing you should never do with a predator like a Mountain Lion. You’ve just turned yourself into a prey item at that point.
"I agree with you kitty, I don't like when they show either" Lmfao best part

You never turn and run away when you encounter one. Only triggers their predator drive more

Can we give respect to people that free the mountain lion In clip #3?
A hell of lot more respect than the cops who showed up with guns. As the old saying goes, when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.
I wouldn't have even bothered to do that; it was foolish bravery. Not that I am scared of a mountain lion. I would kill any of them that tried as much as attempt to attack me. It would be dead in minutes.
@@nickmills8476 reminds me of when an innocent deer traveled from the mainland and somehow made its way to the neighboring off-shore towns, which are about 10 miles away and either traveled through the marsh or the causeway and bridge. I live in south Jersey. What do the cops do.. they fricken shoot and k•ll the thing. Rather than get animal control and relocate it back. That was over 10 years ago and I’m still mad about that
Should of shot it before it goes on a serial killing spree.
Serial killers love it when dangerous animals are set free.
Seeing the mountain lion isn't the problem. It's when you don't see the mountain lion.
If i ever encountered one that's exactly what I'd think. Damn nigga coulda swooped me up from the back. No homo.
I carry a firearm but even so that's useless if it randomly jumps on my back and starts biting my head.
6:11 finding pounds of Marijuana plants and coca plants is probably the biggest fear here
First instinct is to run, I know, but guess what? That immediately triggers the bears/mountain lions natural instinct to chase. Never ever run unless you are running directly toward them. Never ever turn your back either. They are 100% survival 100% of the time. A meal is a meal is a meal, and a meal means survival. You have to become a meal that isn't worth their effort. 1st world humans have never know survival instinct like a wild animal has. Their life consists of eat, sleep, and mate, in that order.
You forgot, drink plus’s piss and poop ect

@@243wayne1 I tote a .22 mag with the first 2 loads for penetration, and the rest hollow point for brute force such as a big hog.
After a couple of attempts at a head on heartshot at a charging hog, you want knock down power. A heart shot within about 30 meters won't save you because he'll hurt you even if he's the real walking dead. Those tusks aren't for show. Shoot at his shoulder and legs to break the charge, as hollow points tumble and cause shattering.
It may sound like I'm joking or exaggerating, but a hog is is more dangerous than a bear. If he can ever knock you off your feet, he'll stab you to death with those tusks and then eat your intestines just to remember you by. They have no fear, the adults are always surly and ill tempered, and the females are almost as dangerous as the boars.
P.S. Bear spray seems to just insults them.
The guy ran away and that triggered that automatic chase response. Every predatory mammal has it hardwired into their brain
Hello Marie how are you doing today.
"I'm not afraid of you" that is what backed him off! They don't understand our words, but they understand intension and emotions, spiritually!
The first guy “ I’m not afraid you” “stay back”
He’s lucky the lion weren’t feeling peckish.
In #4 The cat seemed genuinely curious. At one point he actually sat down to have a look at this guy. If you notice his ears are not pointing backwards, which signals attack. Also, the cat's stance is more relaxed not tensed up, ready to leap forward. Once the guy finally raised his voice the cat quickly realized the man as not friendly and turned around.
You just made this up huh ??
I noticed the cat's lack of evident aggression, too. No display.
Uhh excuse me dumbass they pin their ears back when they’re angry not when they’re stalking something to attack it so just stop bruh
Agree, it's acting like someone's pet.
It's acting like a tame, domestic animal. Someone probably feeds it.
Stay back I’m not afraid of you
Dude thinks his talking to a mugger or something 😂

Unfortunately.
"I'm not afraid to you" Yeah, right...
One day I was fishing on my property and was kinda nodding off. About 10 feet behind me was a pile where I would burn trash. I heard a noise and stood up. As I did there was a huge cougar digging in the trash right behind me. It was like he never knew I was there until I stood up because he was just as scared as I was. He snarled at me then immediately shot off like a rocket the opposite way. In 2 seconds he was completely gone. It still amazes me that he got that close to me without me knowing (there wasn't really any cover for him to hide in, the grass wasn't very tall either) bu
They are so stealthy!
From what I read on UA-cam comments he had to have known you were there because apparently they have a crazy good sense of smell. What an incredible story you have though
1:03 damn that panther closed that gap quick.
Thanks for all the red arrows and circles! I would’ve never known what a mountain lion looks like without them
Dude, it's just hard to spot them sometimes so they do that just in case people can't spot then because they blend so well with nature.
Many out doors situations could be fixed by carrying a gun. I never understood why anybody would hike or jog in a wild forest without any protection?
They have fairytale imagination about wild animals bc we live in places where predator species populations are extremely low or all grouped up in places most ppl will never go.
So on occasion when one does run into one they are usually unarmed bc they probably feel like, why bother?
5:03 I agree with you kitty I don’t like when they show up lmao
Fact's
I’m glad those guys saved the trapped kitty. I hope the police didn’t kill the last one.
I though the same thing, it saddens me when cops or people kill wild animals when they enter their property, I know they can be very dangerous but they have a right to a life and to be fair we enter their territory and home. I hope they just chased it away or caught it and relocated it somewhere safer for both it and humans.
@@trixxiedixie6800 you are right

Smart move- see a mountain lion stalking and pull out a camera. We all know the cameraman never dies.
It’s a viable survival technique.
The last one had me in stitches. The guy next door with his cam and commentary 😂.
FINALLY A NEW VIDEO! I was waiting for you to upload one haha my weekly dose
Literally the only thing you have to do when faced with a mountain lion is not run away. Don't trigger its predator instincts and you won't be prey. Face it don't back down dont look away and threaten it if you can.
I agree that first clip that guy running away from The Cougar made the hairs on the back of the Cougars neck stand up and want to chase the dude
Be as loud and big as possible, is the most crucial thing to know when dealing with a mountain lion. Yet I haven’t seen that said once in the comments smfh

Dude I really just love your voice. It’s so soothing
I remember when my friend told me about one Saturday. His wife asked him to check on the dogs, and why they barking so much... Grumbling, stumbling, he walked to garage, opened the door to shout at his hounds aaaaaand came face to face with a mountain lion. Fish & Game said, "Yeah, we thought there was a cougar 'round here..."
"Dude, you didn't tell anyone?"
That's why you don't go out in the woods without an ability to defend yourself.#4
that first clip I just kept having to say "wrong move" over and over again after he started running.
Be loud.
Be big.
throw rocks.
Imagine a video of a pet cat teleporting closer every time you turn your back, only it's bigger than you
Never talk to a cougar, much less back away or run. That only encourages it. Scream, growl, loudly. Throw rocks at it. They scare easily when you do that.
But what all that when they just want you to buy them a drink and give them a good shag?

Cougar attacks on humans are extremely rare, especially on full-grown adults. They are 99% very afraid of humans and usually keep themselves out of sight if they see a human.
I'm just glad the last one ran away. They were going to kill it.
Man that mountain lion was just inquisitive it never really charged him , id say it was a young female leopard who had prob never seen a person before
Leopard and cougar / mountain lion / puma are two complety different species, mate.
Never turn your back on a wild animal. Make yourself as big as possible yell ,scream etc. Unless it's a crocodile or gator they don't care lol.
Or a tiger because if threatened they will defined themselves with DEADLY FORCE
@@Studentofbeauty actually it all depends on the animal you're facing. They are unpredictable. They can be like okay I will go this way or like no way you're escaping after doing that 😂. Just start praying when you face one.
@@Nature_is_metal fr everyone acting like every mountain lion is the same. We humans aint the same so why would they be lol
@@nuk3407 i agree. I understand they are like.. trying to give pointers. But i don't like how they act as if it's 100%.
There's family friendly pet dogs that will attack you no matter what lil bs you try to do to deter it. They think a mountain lion won't?!
The thing is. There's way more dogs than mountain lions. And way more dogs living in close quarters with humans so there are more attacks.
I can never get over the victim behavior of people in these encounters. I've worked with tigers, lions, mountain lions, panthers and cheetahs at two different wildlife sanctuaries. if you turn your back or show fear, they take the advantage. That's nature. if you walk towards them purposefully ( having a big stick helps ) they typically take the defensive posture and run. Think of it this way, they see you as neutral, meaning you could either be predator or prey, this is why they're always sizing you up. Will you run or will you go on the offensive? Hint, one of those lives, the other dies while running. Also, the big hiking stick is important. For some reason just about every animal's fear of humans increases when you have a stick. They know it's a tool that extends your reach. Pick up a stick near a mere housecat, see what happens. Cat based animals don't like that at all.
Lmao. So ur a professional handler of wild cats and can't understand how some completely untrained ppl don't do the right thing when encountering a predator?
That all depends on whether it's a cougar or a MILF.
I am a bridge surveyor and can't get over how people don't immidiatly recognize the three top most easily visible marks of critical structural stress on exposed steel which I was trained for months to recognize. So weird.

1:50 It did not simply lose interest but was explicitly told that the person was not afraid of it.
There was a huge dog in my yard. I saw him on the driveway. I open the back door and as fast as I could ran straight towards him! Literally as fast as I could. I promise you this dog probably thought he was going to be eaten alive. I caught him by surprise he didn’t even know I was a human in the first moments of our encounter. I almost grabbed his rear end this dog didn’t even have time to make up his mind on what to do but the law of the wild says if you were being chased then whoever is chasing you unprovoked has the upper hand! That is the language of the wild. I have seen men walk down lions and take a meal away from the pride of lions because they are going to them and the lions are so shocked! Once again the law of the wild says if something is coming to you they know whatever is coming to them Feels like they have the upper hand so it’s shocking to be on the receiving end of that!
Doing something unexpected will always give you the upper hand in any situation, at least for a while
Yeah, but don;t take a pride of lions food away. Whya they have to go and do that? Get their own food. Damn, that ain't nice.
If a mountain lion is following you then you can bet he's done it to someone else before.

Those second video guys did a good thing and got lucky that cat didnt turn on them. They were all scary. Was fun to watch. Great video
Professional nature guide from South Africa here . Do not turn and run, rather stand you're ground make a noise make you're self big, wave your hat in the air. Slowly begin to walk back facing the predator until safe. I have walked on to a few Lions and gotten out safely with guests. Kruger national park, Pilanesberg national park . Drives away in my safari jeep.
For clip #1, you don't need a big red arrow on the cop in the middle of the screen or a red circle around his gun. Unless you are blind, you can see it easily without the arrows and circles.
Hahaha. Imagine asking a mountain lion "how are you doing?"
If you’re a full grown man weighing well over 200lbs (100kg) you shouldn’t be scare of a mountain lion. Square up on it, you’re bigger than it and can easily over power it. It knows you’re a predator too but once you run and show fear that’s when they’ll get you. But if you’re willing to stand your ground and fight it. Ain’t no mountain lion is gonna want to fight a human being for food. It rather run away.
Unless it rips your stomach open with its claws.....
When the cops go into the long grass after the cat I instantly remembered the scene from the lost world where the band of mercenaries get ambushed by a pack of raptors in the long grass

The lucky was in the fact that they saw the lion before it saw them. I’ve been dirt biking around south east Utah and they’ll stalk you from cliffs above for hours.
