Bernado hits the nail on the head. Just like a tiny ant toiling away on an anthill, we each have a role to play in the drama of life. Often without realizing it, we mistakenly view ourselves as separate egos with free will, striving to achieve set goals in the hope that they will bring us happiness. This misconception is a source of much suffering in the world. Bernado suggests a different approach: allowing nature to work through us, much like it does for the ant, and simply observing as events unfold. Our only task is to keep our egos in check and be mindful of our actions. This concept can be experienced and understood through experimentation. Rather than overthinking decisions, we should open ourselves up to nature's influence. In doing so, we become instruments serving a higher purpose, even if that purpose remains hidden from us. I think this is what Rupert is talking about towards the end of this clip.

Beautifully said. It’s so infinitely fascinating isn’t it - especially when one considers there is no false self to keep in check other than a belief in one and the belief in a separate world which we can’t find any evidence for. Thank you 🙏

Discerning what is Ego and Not Ego - -
Can come about if you have struggled with an intense personal problem, (of any kind), and have reached an absolute impasse.
No amount of analysis, no amount of trying, no amount of worry or fretting, no amount of excuses or plans for the future, no trickery or cleverness, no anger or frustration, no self subjugation or self pity, no pleasure seeking or escapism - - - none of these psychological states provide any solutions.
You've tried them all and you give up.
Completely.
With no ulterior motive.
This is not a suicidal state of mind.
But rather the dissolving of the ego and it's machinations.
It is now, with your mind placid, that your own brain can reveal meanings you have never seen before.
Meanings that can evoke the words ‘Yes, wow, that is absolutely True’
Because these meanings appear to come from nowhere, they are often ascribed as the ‘word of God’.
You somehow feel you have grasped the totality of the situation.
This can create a feeling of surrender.
(Which is not normal for western man).
From this - - if you have the good fortune for it to happen to you - -
You can discover that - -
One has to be in a state of constantly ‘giving up’.
This translates into Krishnamurti's statement - ‘Die to every moment’

Intuition happens when you are in a high-frequency level of awareness/consciousness.
How do you know?: observe the quality of your emotions in that moment.
We have always known what to desire.
Where is the full episode??
If we don't really have free will (most nondual teachers seem to imply we don't) and time isn't real, how can the universe have some overall purpose or direction?
We do have freewill but not in the way we think we do. We are inherently free. I’d suggest the Universe as we perceive it is simply a construct from the perspective of the human mind and prior to the mind - the Consciousness / Love that we are has no motive or agenda other than to manifest in the mind and know itself (whilst paradoxically also not knowing itself directly in the mind). Time is a construct through which we ‘perceive’ change - we don’t ever experience time itself, we experience change in now / change within the timeless eternal nature of our Self.
but still dont know how you can let nature work through you...need some more direct guidance here.
First of all, it is to recognise nature is always working through you as you ARE nature. Second, it's to recognise the voice of ego (I, Me, My) and make a distinguish between that and the subtle sense of intuition nudging us in the right path. Fear and love are key distinctions too. But we must all find out for ourselves. :)
The biblical prophet Elijah has returned, as prophesied, and testifies: You are so very correct on every point, man in the lower right-hand corner.....("Otto"? excuse my ignorance; I'm experiencing limitation like everybody else, and names weren't posted).....with one caveat: "The Universe" not only knows its purpose, but time is an illusion, and that purpose was accomplished in the very same "instant" that it was necessitated - by US! And we are but temporarily experiencing an ancient (and very bad) memory. All important mysteries have been revealed, including The Meaning of Life. If you're interested, seek and ye shall find...
