The story shows five X-Men (Cyclops, Wolverine, Gambit, Psylocke, and Beast) Their fellow who must rescue mutants from captivity in the Genosha island complex. Initially, Genosha served as an allusion to slavery apartheid regime of South Africa and, later, consequently, a disaster area. Its capital was the city of Hammer Bay. Again as always, Magneto tries to impose its brotherhood, while Professor Xavier does what it can for humans and mutants can live together in peace. -

I'll be popping this title in again, going hard on some rainy days when life goes back to "normal" after COVID. My friend was always exceptional at this game (and games in general) and I believe he beat it as a kid 20-something years ago. Sadly, he lost his life to drugs a couple years back, and playing classics on Super Nintendo is one of my ways of remembering him. This game is even more dear to me, because the cartridge I have, was his.
Damn dude. Drugs take some of the best people way too long. Ive lost a lot of friends as well. Luckily, I was able to get clean before it happened to me.
Hope you're hanging in there man, I'm sure he cared deeply about you
Hang in there, man. Sometimes the best way to remember the good times is to do that which you love. He would enjoy what you are doing in his memory.
Damn... May he rest in peace
And now SAFEMOON
Rip man and never forget those days of childhood memories playing games with friends
Definitely one of the best games on the SNES. Every fight was memorable.
Back when Capcom could do no wrong..brings back so many sweet memories of my youth and spending Saturday mornings with my dad watching the cartoon on Fox. Game is still beautiful all these years later.
this game is an underrated gem
I'm DEEPLY DISAPPOINTED That Wolverine NO LONGER WEARS The SUIT(S) That MADE 'im FAMOUS & PUT 'im ON The MAP.
And war gems too
Lol Wolverine looked so sad at the end
Storm was there. Why didn't she hug Logan?
X men 2 genesis rocks this game. Area of play in this game is very small. Go watch x men 2 genesis and see what blast processing does

The soundtrack of this game... way ahead of its time...
*in its time
orestes samolis lol 👎
Its ok. But every board sounds like boring dream music
David: How dare you insult the legendary Setsuo Yamamoto! 🤬
falcougeoutpost never heard of setsuo yamamoto. Probably a good thing
The music for Beast's stage: SO amazing!
Sounds like a Thursday night out in Miami or something
And Psylocke’s..!💜
I asked my mom to buy this for me as a kid just because I thought the box art looked cool and that I was an xmen fan. Little did I know how awesome the game was until I started playing. One of the best games of my childhood and one that captures the tone of the animated television show so well.
And she bought it for you? You mustve been well off or an only child with both parents well off. My mom could never afford these games back in the day
@@domls1317 I think the game was on sale or something. It was like $30 which was still a lot back in the day. She didn't buy me everything I asked for but she tried her best when she could🙂
@@SuperJumpReviews mothers are the best. You dont realize the sacrifices to spend money on stuff like that until you grow up and are raising a family of your own.
Great past times!! We enjoyed stress free lives as kids, now our brains are overloaded with the stressors of people, traffic, and work forever. But at 41, I still play these games, and it all goes away.😎👍🏿
I love how Cyclops walks around like he can kick anyone's ass. Great playthrough, homie! I used to love this game!
He can though
He is my favorite.
Well, he's leader for many reasons, you know
Cyclops sucks

Gambit - easily the coolest of the X-Men. Total G
diddy1847 TOTAL G. My favorite X-Man too. They did him so dirty in X-Men Origins...made him look like a str8 up bitch next to Wolverine.
My favorite as a kid too. Hos action figure was my holy grail lol
diddy1847 I was 6 I played this game and wanted to grow up to be like him. His swagger 😎
His traits:
-Coolness
-Cleverness
-Cajun Accent
-Mr. Gambling Man ♠️♥️♦️♣️🃏
He's also the one who banged gene lucky bastard
I really can't express with words what this videogame means to me, it brings me back so much memories. I love it and still have it!
And then came X-Men: Children of the Atom that was released a month later in the arcade. Great memory with this game.
Back when Wolverine was short.
And intimidating.
Never forget.
As a short man, Wolverine is one of the only comic book superheroes I have to look up to (or down to?). But of course for the films, they had to make him tall and built like a brick shithouse (Hugh Jackman).
Got the fame for one of my birthdays as a kid, my favourite snes game.
Could never beat this game back in the day. Thanks for this. Poor Wolverine, all alone at the end.
Just the way he likes it.
I have always noticed that Capcom really does make the best games.
Who else played with Psylocke first? Just curious.
Beating Magneto with Gambit with one life? THAT is legit. If you don't know what you're doing, one of those metal plates will ALWAYS hit you even if you scissor kick through them … and then you have to be fast enough to get under Magneto to up card him … and then you do no damage and have to do all of it again and again and again in a marathon session. Kudos to xRavenXP for making it look pretty effortless.
Juego épico que marcó mi infancia y esa gráfica que parecía de psx, adelantado para la época😱💕
39:03 HM?!?!?! Not HIM again!!!!!! Not Magneto!!!!!!!!
This game had some nice artwork.
Excellent. Still holds up well.
Cyclops is quite destructive for being calm under pressure.
Well is people being in danger would do that to him
Fucking Cyclops man, pure badass
Jubilee and Gambit have always been my favorite X-Men.
I always pause the game when was doing psylocke spin kick. that asss
Mauricio Ayala Oh yeah. 😎😎😎😎😎😎
Oh My God! My brother use to do that too!!!😅
@E N 😐
Mauricio Ayala guacalas! Nalgas peludas y sudorosas.
Her and Mai
I remember getting this game as a birthday gift. My dad took me to KB Toys to pick out a game. I ended up picking this one because I was a fan of the X-Men cartoon at the time
This game was beyond bad ass. I called this the best Xmen game for the SNES. It felt like the comic or the show really was pulled into my SNES.
Absolutely loved the music in this game (obviously the same department who worked on the Mega Man X sound tracks). Especially Psylocke's first stage. This game was pretty cool but I remember feeling a little underwhelmed in some areas.
One of the best X-Men games I have i ever played
This is one of the best Capcom brawlers, period. An absolutely awesome game in every way. I can still remember buying this new, and still have it.
This game reminded me a lot fighting wise of the game "Final Fight", the Mutant Hunters looked like one of the enemies from "Final Fight" with the knife. This game also brought back great memories of playing the Capcom version of "Contra" as well... But I spent tons of quarters playing this in the arcade when there was actually a line to play games like these and Killer Instinct, good times. Those were the days Thank you for sharing and reminding this old bastard about the way great games used to look before everyone got greedy and it became more about money and less about quality.
I had this one when it came out. It is good at letting you guess codes. All sorts of strange things can happen when you do.
Remember when you had to right password down good old days this was a great game classic never got tired of playing it I remember beating the game when I was about 14 or 15 I remember my dad getting me this classic for Christmas one year I was so happy cause I was a huge x-men fan glad they are making a new wolverine game can’t wait to play that
Keep up the good work.. I have such high admiration and respect for LongPlayers.. what you do is a form of speed run, I can't imagine all the tries before you accomplished any LongPlay! It takes skills dedication and passion, Keep it up bro! I support you!
I love beast stage and still have this game on SNES 2020
Omg this game is legendary. Love the soundtrack
I always failed at getting that X at the sentinel's spine with wolverine. Thanks for that!
They need to remastered this X-Men game!
Capcom always has such a cool soundtrack.
Kicked ass in the Gambit stage!
One of the best SNES games.
I still have this cartridge lol. I remember losing so many times but then gradually I began to beat the game so many times. In hindsight, I think this is where Capcom got their MvC sprites from.
A beautiful beat-'em-up. It really does need a remake and a sequel.
I think it's more like an action platformer than a beat 'em up.
SILENTANIMELOVER eh no way would that work today. This game was average.
No it doesn't.
@@youtubeadmin1588 today ghey coukd mame a side scroller with the most beautiful graphics and advanced level concepts and possibilities. Multi player can have the whole Xmen team on screen kicking butt. Imagine a side scroller like Power Stone with the Xmen or Avengers 😍
I loved how satisfying smashing your way through a sentinel was
i never got to play this version of xmen only the
NES and Genesis versions, this looks like the
best version, i mean i shouldn't be surprised
because Capcom made it after all.
Psylocke needs her own videogame
Miss this game. I wish I could remember what age I was playing this. It came out when I was 3 but I have clear memories of the gameplay and missions lol.
Amazing game but sadly too short ._.
I remember playing this when I was in elementary school, although I don't think I ever beat it. Thanks for posting this. :D
It's crazy how far we've come. This ish use to be so hard.
12:13 ah yes, finally some good sprites
sexy sprites
AMAZING GAME!!! i remember that piece was one of the first games that i played in the SNES
Snes
15:56 beast stage 🎶
Hell yes! Wolverine, man! As a kid, I would turn this game on, like, every day during the summer to play his part specifically. I never was the kid who had knives or pencils between my fingers to play Wolverine.. No one ever picked Gambit, so I would, and get to swing around a broom or a big stick. This was usually at school on the multi-layered gym equipment, over that shredded tire stuff.
beat this today, legit. no passwords, save states or game genie. straight through. i didn't get the good ending though cause i lost some x-men. man it's hard. such a great game! best 16 bit x-men game
This game was hard as hell but fun. The music and the art is peak Capcom.
The graphics were great in this game!!
Great game;
It was cool how Wolverine had that "Shoryuken" like move, and Gambit had "Scissor Kick".
Who here thinks Psylocke's stage had the best background music?
Yes indeed
I love this game and his songs ❤
i remember how frustrating this game was back then, but was still fun to play
Man I miss the beat'em up genre...this game & Streets of Rage needs an HD remake
Its kind of crazy to notice how some of the attacks were used in the fighting games ie. the capcom vs series. Its pretty cool to see.
this game is harder than you made it look
55:20 seg - Wolverine Forever alone :( T__T
Aww, this remind me of 6th grade, swiss rolls and beating the street lights home. The golden times
Finally a true boss who can play this game like an OG.
So, I know this is Capcom, but the similarities between this and Mega Man X are staggering.
@DisasterEXE: Well, to be fair, the composer of the soundtrack to X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse is none other than Setsuo Yamamoto, one of the composers that worked on the soundtrack to Mega Man X. In my humble opinion, a significant amount this game's soundtrack could have and should went into either Mega Man X2 and/or X3. Sadly, Yamamoto had nothing to do with the soundtracks of MMX2 and X3.
If it aint broke, don't fix it.
@@jdjohns146Yeah pretty much. They just took two of their more popular franchises and used the X-Men license making this one.
Love Psylocke’s theme song!
I was really young when I first played this and up to this day I get goosebumps on these bosses and the theme.
This game seemed so hard when i was a kid i never made it past everyones first mission but now im older these games are a breeze
It happens with every game we thought was hard at first. For example, I played this game as a kid, and I thought it was impossible to beat, until i managed to dominate the enemies' patterns when I got older; but even now, I still have a lot of trouble dealing with both Exodus and Magneto, which are pretty unpredictable.
It's got an awesome soundtrack, too. This game really takes me back. I used have this game, but I never managed to beat it.
This was one of my favorite SNES games as a kid. Always had trouble with Beast's stage, though.
Those scuba knife guys in Cyclops' stage are why I have trust issues.
gameplay starts at 8:32
Wolverine's meme
Cyclops' optic blasts sound so close to X-Men Legends 2.
love the art in this games. brilliantly drawn sprites.
Trydowave Zod it’s ok. If you wanna see incredible sprite art and animation, look to the arcade X-Men Children of the Atom which was actually made by Capcom.
Never got to play this back in the day played the xmen games on genesis this one looks good
I LOVED this game, best X-Men game I ever played. I would play this over and over and over just to see how fast I could beat it or how far I could go without being hit
This game was the beginning of the Capcom's Marvel license games which eventually leads to the Marvel vs. Capcom series.
X-MEN : MUTANT APOCALYPSE ROCKS SO MUCH !!!
I need a X-Men game that would deliver like Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks play.
For my ps4 .
1
Remake this over for the PS4 with up grades weapons of fire claws & ice claws & after every boss battles auto matic change able out fits.
Believe me its has alot of potential if some important make right Crystal Dynamic 1
Cyclops optic blast must have up grades of different optic blast colors & add in some unlimited granades as weapons.
Gambit is the best for real 1
I love this game, but even after all these years I've never managed to beat psylocke's last level. Damn missle, I always end up falling.
Awesome game. I loved spamming Psylocke's and Beast's air kicks to keep myself in the air as long as possible :)
Sentinel at 15:03 always scared me as a kid. Great game
You're right.
I miss those days...
THIS GAME ROCKS/RULES!!!!!
I never got over that I rocked with Gambit harder than anyone else, then he was the one I had the most trouble beating Magneto with. Seriously, go figure.
this game brings back memories
The soundtrack to this game is one of my favorites of all time. Why Capcom didn't create an easily-accessible sound test mode (there is one available in-game, but only accessible through using Game Genie and Pro Action Replay codes) is considered being between criminal and sacrilege to me. I could play Beast's stage BGM and the Hiverbroods' Deserted Camp BGM for hours on end.
Capcom always made quality games.... :D
Not really
Back when Cyclops was badass instead of being a pushover or a Nazi. And that walk, the "I'm gonna kick everyone's ass" walk adapted to perfection.
55:20 Forever alone.
I think either Wolverine and Beast should have been the ones to battle the enemy out in the forest region instead of Cyclops. There they could use their animal keen senses to their advantage.
Love Psylocke's music
1 of the best X-Men games ever made... Ughh.. Nostalgia...overwhelming...can't....ugggggh
