Glad you are not getting Snotty about the Brigg Branch Line on this great DAY 15 of exploring Yorkshire and the Humber travelvlog, lovely vids keep them coming. kindest of regards Mark-Edwyn. 🚂🚃🚃
Great Vblog G as ever, I've spent many hours trainspotting on Barnetby there was a nice fish and chip shop in the village and small food shop too and good b+b to stay at, glad u got the trip in just before that timetable change lucky u got that bit of line crossed off see ya next week again G take care 🙂 👍
Aye up girl what ya doing on my side of country, 😂😂😂 love what you do, Don't stop, I'm intending to get a petition up to make you the first Director of a Re-Nationalised Railway,
Great vlog G, nice exploring of the Brigg Line at least Brigg has got a town to explore while waiting for the trains (which I know are weekdays now) Kirton Lindsey looks abit lonely though. I enjoyed watching as always.
Surprised you didn't include Gainsborough but then looked it up and that Lincolnshire.... nothing to do with Yorkshire or The Humber! LOL, Barnetby back in the day not sure if it still is was the mother of all freight hotspots as it was lovely even with the old semaphores signals. Brigg look nice after watching it from Nick's video, I have rode the Brigg Line on Pacers but never got off there. Great video G!
DEFINITELY a "Squishy Baby" Day!! Thanks for the shots of older Railway buildings too - MUCH better than bin bags & shelters! We'll get you on @4RailTrail before long if you keep going like that 😊
Fantastic video, G! It's not often that every station in a vlog has a different number of platforms. Definitely think Harrington humps are more useful than Humberside lumps though!
What a wonderful vlog, including the stingy bottom moment LOL. Neither been to Brigg but I do know a Signaller who works there. It is one of the least used railways in the UK. Loved the river walk, looks like one worth walking all the way to the Humber. The freeze frame smile at the end of the vlog says it all! Fun fun fun. Great stuff G, Ray xx
You should have gone with Nick when he went to Brigg and done a collaboration. That would have been good. The town at Brigg looks nice. Looks like you had fun G.
Brilliant video G, nice to see you made it up to the Brigg line or the snotty Brigg line lol, it's a shame the Saturday service for Brigg was removed, it looks like a nice place. Don't even get me started on stinging nettles, when I was living in Brighton, I went to someones house and their garden was against the East Coastway line and I tried to walk over to the fence to see the trains and couldn't make it because of stinging nettles all over said garden. Also I see on the destination screens at Barnetby, trains down to my neck of the woods Leicester. :)
I rode this line yesterday (05/06/2023). I think the line would be better served as a heritage railway between Gainsborough Central and Barnetby with daily summer steam running into Cleethorpes.
Another great video G. I'm glad you were able to get off at the stations and did it on a Saturday. At the end of May I did a 4 in 8 North East Rover. My first attempt at the Brigg line was Mon 22nd and guess what... it was cancelled🙁. I re arranged my timings and I managed to ride (bash) the line on Tue 23rd from Grimsby to Sheffield. I also managed the rare Leeds - Goole direct and Sheffield - York direct. Not easy lines to cover. (plus a few other lines up there (north)) . 😀
As a resident of Barnetby, I have often been amused by the station boards stating " for Humberside Airport. There is no physical connection to the airport from Barnetby station. However, a bus service run almost every 2 hours (Hornsby Buses No. 4) although you will have to walk 5 minutes into the village. The fields of yellow is Oil Seed Rape - used in the production of vegetable oil.
Hi G, great vlog, I'm thinking of starting a petition to rename Brig to Snotty Brigg a much better name 😉😉the river walk was very pretty, Kirton Lindsey was very quaint, and those pesky nettles, very irritating. Looking forward to the next one, stay safe.
I wonder why it’s so “Snotty”. And the Brigg branch line is quite short with only 3 railway stations on the branch line in North Lincolnshire. Barnetby is quite a decent railway station with 4 platforms and serves nearby Humberside Airport. And as always I do like your humour as always G. 😁😂
*Since the May 2023 timetable change, the Brigg branch line is now served by 1 train in each direction on weekdays only (no Saturdays) 👍
At least you didn't wait until a weekend after the timetable change
Please can I ask do you have a boyfriend my lovely friend XOXO ❤

Amazed you found any service at all on this line so great work managing to achieve your station visits!
Haha thanks!
Great vlog G, nice exploring of the Brigg Line at least Brigg has got a town to explore while waiting for the trains (which I know are weekdays now) Kirton Lindsey looks abit lonely though. I enjoyed watching as always.
Yeah there is a fair bit in snotty Brigg!

Your t-shirt says I must be a G 😂

Haha good to hear
You weren’t expecting for the change of timetables
Great video G! Liking the turquoise ramps at Barnetby!
Thanks! Ye they a nice colour 😂
DEFINITELY a "Squishy Baby" Day!! Thanks for the shots of older Railway buildings too - MUCH better than bin bags & shelters! We'll get you on @4RailTrail before long if you keep going like that 😊
brilliant adventure along the Brigg line im loving Kinton Lindsey and Brigg & Brigg looks like a lovely town to visit
Thanks, the town was more lively than the station!
I always love these videos.
Thanks!
Great Video . Might see you on the train Sometime.😁
Great video G!
With the May timetable change I think it's now one train a day Monday-Friday and none on Saturday on the Brigg line.👍🙂
Thanks and yeah it is 👍
Fantastic video, G! It's not often that every station in a vlog has a different number of platforms. Definitely think Harrington humps are more useful than Humberside lumps though!
Haha I like the lumps me 😂😂 thanks barrowc
If you look north from Carr Lane Bridge you should be able to see the trains between Barnetby and Scunthorpe crossing the river in the distance
Lovely stuff

Ah damn haha hope you didn't get stung too much 😂
I rode this line yesterday (05/06/2023). I think the line would be better served as a heritage railway between Gainsborough Central and Barnetby with daily summer steam running into Cleethorpes.
Those gorgeous flowery fields and peaceful tinkling waters is always good to see! 😃
Mm yes!
Awesome Vlog, would love to meet you one day.

Yeah few dodgy stations along there, thanks Peter!
Great vlog G yes this route is very quiet and not much there I think that's why there isn't much of a service anymore
Brigg was pretty busy tbf
A very good Tuesday evening young lady how are you today hun x

Another great journey by GLoves a wee on a train :-)
Haha always 😂
"The Sterrs" XD
Very wise giving yourself more time for the connection at Barnetby given the current reliability of TPE.
Have you been to Grimsby yet, if not I will warn you in advance
Hi G, great vlog, I'm thinking of starting a petition to rename Brig to Snotty Brigg a much better name 😉😉the river walk was very pretty, Kirton Lindsey was very quaint, and those pesky nettles, very irritating. Looking forward to the next one, stay safe.
Haha do it! Ima call it that forever

And you may want to sit down for this bit of info, Milk comes from the big brown things you see hanging around beside the Railway, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another great vlog G,love em. I believe the yellow field s are oil seed rape?
Yes they are, thanks!
Great vid!
I know it's off lines but could you review a travelodge super room?
Thanks! Maybe haha
You should have stayed on after Kirton Lindsey, you could have experienced the 'joys' of Gainsborough. (I'm allowed to diss the place, I live here! 🤣)
Haha might come one day
@@GLovesTrains you'd fit in well with your Knickers On Your Head song! 😄
Was that a Shaken Udder milkshake you were drinking in the train G?? They are banging.......
Cant remember tbh 😂
Not sure which name I prefer, Snotty Brigg or Lumpy Brigg
Glad you managed to highlight two more dodgy stations
Haha both are decent 😂

OH NO, I've missed out on the make the first comment competition AGAIN . I was really looking forward to the £5 B&M voucher.
Great vid G as usual. Was that bin tall, or are you short? 😃
The bin is big
Awkward stations - shame they get a useless parliamentary service. Here’s hoping they can get a better service soon!
Train strikes? What, is the UK turning into FRANCE?!
Ditch the coat man, it’s boiling!
I'll wear what I want, man.
Those yellow fields are oilseed rape - increasingly important but at the point of flowering the do stink lol
Trains Station 🚉
Yellow fields are rapeseed mate the flowers fall off latter 👍
