Swedish opera tenor Rickard Söderberg did 31 short classes during quarantine. He is way cool!

Please, please... watch "Null Positiv" with "Independenz" and " Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Feuer!" - Elli Berlin has such a great voice!
I’ve heard this song a hundred times, dozens of reactions, never heard the layered screaming during the cleans before you pointed them out. Awesome work
Me too! Ashamed to say I never noticed the layered screams with the clean vocals, either, although I can now they've been pointed out!
I was just about to comment the same thing! I need to go listen to the whole back catalogue on headphones now as I feel im missing out lol
Same here XD
That's why I love watching reactions to their content, every time I learn to appreciate it more.
This is why I'm thankful for Chris!
One has to admire your ability to deeply analyze and explain all the voice techniques without laughing a single time about the ridiculous video footage until like 15 seconds before the end. I would have smashed my forehead into the desk 15 seconds in.
Great video - as always.
Fun fact....both Kevin and Nico can sing with clean vocals AND growl-style vocals. I've seen them live. They are good at both. Kevin seems to harmonize well live with Nico.
I find this so funny because normally Chris stays straight-faced even when making the most absurd noises you’ve ever heard, but EC has made him so giddy he can’t help but laugh each time he replicates the screams 🤣
I die a little inside every time a reactor doesn't notice David climbing on top of his drum kit and absolutely murdering the crash cymbal during the breakdown. 😂
Didn’t notice, or didn’t convey to you that they noticed. Very different things
The first time I saw EC live since Nico joined the band, Kevin was sick and it was their biggest concert of the tour in Germany. Nico had to do most of the vocals alone and did a fantastic job.
In general Nico's improvement with the harsher vocals is really remarkable. The improvement from the first concert with Nico to the last one I saw (in August) is sick. 🤯In general Kevin and Nico harmonize very well on stage.
Greatly appreciate your video! As a good next one maybe check out their cover of Cascade's "Every time we touch". Brilliant!
Dude this is like a daily listen for me! 🤘
Agreed!
Yes please, love that song. Listen to it very often. 😁
Your channel belongs to the Electric Callboy fans now. Please do not resist.
Their songs are produced by Daniel Haniß - their lead guitar
They're a deeply talented bunch.
Daniel is a little genius. Extremely talented
HYPA HYPA was so good they made "album" with this entire song with different bands and genres: WBTBWB - Deadcore, Sasha - POP, The BossHoss - country, 257ers - RAP, Gestrort aber Geil - dubstep?, Axel One - Orchestral/classical touch, Saltano Mortis - FOLK metal Can´t wait for more! much love!
I never realized all the different layering in the vocals until you broke it down. Incredible!
Ffs fine I’m subbing. Your positivity is amazing. Also, you have the rare ability to teach in a fun way without being annoying and pedantic
You are Nerding like crazy. I love it
I think this band is probably the best thing happening in the metal scene right now, so much creativity, fun and also great songs on the more serious side.
Wow the growl at the end of light I never noticed before and I’ve listen to this song dozens of times how cool!
You should definitely check out the cover of Hypa Hypa by We Butter The Bread With Butter. They make it so much heavier and the vocal gymnastics are even wilder. Also, the video for it is a parody of this video, filmed on the same set and with the the entirety of Electric Callboy in attendance, lol.
WBTBWB ist garbage. Better listen to a jackhammer during rush hour.
One of the things that is so amazing about electric callboy, is that having 2 vocalists, is that while both specialize at a different thing, they can support each other, and can produce the layerings that help transition from growls to cleans, which makes it easier for them to transition from the heaviest parts to the lightest parts of the songs, and those transitions are imo probably what makes their songs so good.
The transitions allow them to mix almost any genre using vocals which is pretty cool, not sure if you could do that with a single vocalist unless you used a lot of production behind it.
I love your explanation that shows people that metal is still an art of singing, not just people “screaming”!
As a guitarist and singer in a small cover band I have to say I enjoy it so much how you go in the details from all these different techniques, because I just sing and have no training in these techniques and I love to see the joy you have like a little kid getting some candy while you listening to that🤣 I am so happy to see them next year live here in Germany for the first time. You got a well deserved Sub from me❤️
You analyse the singing so clearly and comprehensibly, I could listen for hours. And the way you convey this is fantastic. Keep up the good work. 👍
Totally interesting how you analyzed it. Most people think it's just screaming.
its great to watch your breakdown, i would miss so much detail in the songs .
Love your videos with your analysis and description of the techniques used (I’ve watched countless reaction videos but your videos bring a whole new depth to their songs for me). Also great for people who think screaming is all the same and doesn’t require any talent (looking at my past self 😂). Can’t wait to see more EC!
Also, I’ve seen them live and they are just as entertaining and good in person. Obviously less production to their voices but that makes it all the more enjoyable hearing a much rawer version of each song
I so enjoy the pure joy you show for interesting vocal techniques.
Fantastic, Hurrikan is a must from a vocal standpoint I think!
I'm enjoying your analysis here. I've listened to this song several times, but never picked up on all the layers until you pointed them out. Thanks.
I would absolutely listen to your reactions for hours, great video as always
WBTBWB analysis when? :D
I just said that same! Tobi needs some analysis.
Yes! Tobi is vocal genius .
Now the WBTBWB cover of this song.
I always love watching your videos, Chris! I've bought your vocal course, and I always come back to your videos here on UA-cam for more variety! Thank you for opening my mind and voice to more possibilities! ♥♥
Now I need to see Kevin and Nico react to your reaction (as they've done in the past). I think they'd really enjoy your analysis. 👍
@chrisliepe you gotta do their cover of Every Time We Touch next.
Loved the analysis. That you immediately back up Everything with examples is SO helpful to me!
Headbanging with you!
Great as always. You, Elizabeth, and Will are a perfect vocal analysis team.
Love it that you jumped the EC Hypetrain🤘 would be very interisting to see an analysis to VRSTY. The Singer has a very special voice imo😊
Thank you, you show me a complete new world
I picture your neighbors wondering what's going on in there, with the loud random screaming of various phrases.
I really like your analysis. And I love Electric Callboy!
Seen them live in Denver, and was surprised at how much Nico was involved in the harsh vocals to back up Kevin live. Not a reversal of roles, but it certainly added to the heft and aggression in terms of power coming from the amps!!
Welcome to the fandom. Your brain will never be quite the same again
Great breakdown and one of my favorite bands! Looking forward to more!
As a German myself, Electric Callboy are one of the greatest accomplishments. :D I discovered them 1-2 years ago and it's awesome you fell down the rabbit hole, too! Feels awesome to see you discover similiar bands in similar timeframes! Superb analysis as always. I think around 11:30 the last phrase of "turn the liiiiight" has a highly distorted and compressed fry sliding down. Really sounds like a fry to me.
Finally someone (Chris); explains why these guys are so much fun. 🎶🎯😉
You are so far the best doing the comment you are hilarious but perfect explain just wonderful keep it up 💕💕💕
its so much fun watching you get excited about these guys and their Vocal antics haha :D
I very much enjoy listening and seeing you geek out and deeply enjoying masterfully executed craftsmanship of the artists. Thank you , your joy is catching!
Enjoy the other 7 version of hyps hypa!
Love this! What a great band to feature.
Your giggling is so sweet and contagious ❤
It's so fun to watch your reactions and I'm so glad Elizabeth and Will finally brought you to these marvelous guys! ❤ Can't wait for the next EC-Reaction 🤘
I just love seeing YT'rs discovering Electric Callboy. I saw them live last month and they are just as good live, maybe better!
Their overall formula is just so genuinely fun you cant hate anything they've dropped in the past few years.
Love this band and how much fun they have.
Been listening to Electric Callboy since your "We Got the Moves" analysis video and I'm hooked! Love this band!
Now we need an analysis of the We butter the bread with butter: hypa hypa cover
I can tell you they pull it off incredibly live. They are a truly phenomenal live act.
Hey Chris, I would love to see your vocal analysis on Hot Mulligan. The way the singer slips in and out of screaming is so unique, so I would love to hear some commentary on it. Keep up the great work!
I love watching you jump around in the techniques. I hope to do it at the show so I sound ok in the crowd lol. I've been practising for over a year at this stage so I'm comfy in it
Electric Callboy has made a cover of Everytime we touch! along with a video and it's amazing!
You are a brilliant analyst. Top notch. I'm a lifelong fan for you.
I love how you breakdown all the screams/growls! I'd love to see you attack Crystals with their original singer!
I watched your entire reaction. I love your analysis and explanations of vocals. I look forward to seeing more of your terrific vids. What a great ear you have for vocal analysis. Wow. Impressive.
I can't wait for We Butter The Bread With Butter
(Yes that is the band name)
The Song is based on "Scooters Hypa Hypa" a Tekkno Classic from the 90s
Love your reaction! Keep it up! And beware the EC rabbithole... it's deeper then you might think
ahhh love your energy .. ure so excited to talk about vocals ... its great ^^
Chris look like a kid on high sugar listening to Hypa Hypa 😂 I love the excitment! Please more Electric Callboy, I love the insights as well on the production, it is awesome!
Your reactions are simply the best ❤
I love how you break down the technique of the screams. I thought this one ould be an interesting one. I do agree with everyone though the live version is so good. Parasite is a serious one but its such a great song and has got a few interesting things in it.
Oh you're gonna have a field day with Hurrikàn! 😂
Great reaction and voice analysis 🤟 its superinteresting. Thanks
Knew the song already, but never heard anything you mentioned. Thanks for renewing it and changing the way I hear this one from now on! New subscriber here.
Waiting for "Everytime we touch"
Man I love your passion and joy as you talk about this stuff!
If you end up doing "Pump It" (you should!) there's a moment that absolutely dumbfounds me, but that I've never heard _anyone_ else mention, where he does an ascending diminished scale, only every other note is screamed, while every other note is clean. It's _masterfully_ done, and I'd love to hear someone knowledgeable like you talk about it!
Thank you, can learn so much from you, handsome Chris
They're incredible live, they have plenty of full live shows on their youtube channel and you get a much bigger appreciation of their vocals 👍
I'd love to see you break down the WBTBWB version of Hypa Hypa.
Aaaaaah I grew so frustrated because you kept stopping before that awesome dance scene which was done by Kalle koschinsky.
Nice video though
If you haven't already watched it multiple times, the visuals are worth paying attention to. One of my favorite songs from EC for that very reason.
Chris, I love you so much man. You make me laugh so much and teach me so much. Big
somebody make a compilation video of chris making funny sounds pls i need it
They made me longing for Massacration and The Bull
Kevin’s screams get more awesome when explained by you!
Now you have to react to the WBTBWB-Coverversion of Hypa Hypa :D
You should do a reaction to Our Last Night. I think you would love it!
I'd like to see you react to some of the older songs with their old singer, Sushi. Mc Thunder or Crystals.
There are multiple covers for this song in many Genres. Many great music videos for them as well.
I'd like to see an out of context compilation of you making funny noises and faces. 😆
Haha. They are definitely out there! :)
12:32 Electric Callboy overdose in action :D :D
You have to check out their cover of “Everytime we touch”!!
This band for sure uses a lot of layered gang vocals.
Thanks for the awesome analysis!
Since you mentioned throat singing, you should really check out „The Hu“, for example „Yuve Yuve Yu“.They are a Mongolian rock/throat singing band with traditional Mongolian instruments as well. Really really awesome and definitely interesting vocally as well.
Love EC! Thanks for doing this one. Please please please breakdown the voice of an angel that is Ian Kenny of karnavool and birds of Tokyo. sounds so smooth and yet have trouble finding that silky location in my voice
I saw them live last week. Vocally they are great live. They really bring the party too. It was such a hoot.
Welcome to your next month of videos
Electric Callboy - Everytime We Touch
Now you have to listen to the we butter the bread with butter version
Looks like an Alesis SamplePad Pro 8 back there with the drum kit. I just picked one up a couple of weeks ago. I am still working on getting everything set how I want it. ✌😎
I still would like a 2nd analysis of Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons in Dull Knives.
But amazaing to have a second video for Electric Callboy
Nice, fun and educational reaction 😁👍 since you mentioned throatsinging, how about checking out Heilung? Lifa: In Maidjan 😊 have a great weekend.
If you want to be an excellent metal vocalist, learn Tuvan throat singing, especially sygyt because it's all about tongue position and the nuance of small slides almost micro adjustments of the tongue. Also looking forward to when Chris gets to Hurrikan.
