Laser Cutting Wood Type

Today I’m working of a new version of the Skateboarding Saves Poster. It’s a slightly different design. I found that the wood font I want to use is short an A and a S. I figured I would try and make replacements using the lasercutter. The results are surprisingly good. Another fun day of experimental typography at Old Star Press in Venice Beach.

Why not cut the letter shape out of 5mm walnut and then glue mount the letter on a block? Cutting is quicker, has no raster lines.
