  • This is just a simple video showing how Americans treat MR. BARAK OBAMA and How Indians treat MR. NARENDRA MODI , when they are in public . How do both the communities how RESPECT to the most important person of their respective country .
    please don't take this too seriously , this is just a simple video , showing respect factor in both the countries .
    I understand Americans show respect by shaking hands and Indiand by touching elders feet , but Americans should atleast stand up while shaking hands and talking to the president .

      i never touch anyone's feet and i oppose this habit of indians. not that i oppose this cultural aspect of indian culture but because the idea/science behind it has been lost and like most things today in india it is merely a chore. the science behind it was when a younger person touched feet f his elders they would give him blessings and touch his head with their palm and it transfers positive energy of the elder person to younger person. and that rarely happens today so it is basically meaningless and today most indians touch feet of only who they see someone as very important person which is height of cheapness.

    • @theragingcyclone
      @theragingcyclone 7 років тому

      yes sure, i disagree with most of the meaningless indian traditions and customs which serve no purpose other than to inflate egos and to discriminate against others on different basis. why only a woman has to wear bindi and mangalsutra to announce to the world that she is married? is she the personal property of her husband? why are indian married men not required to wear some kind of ornament to announce to the world that they are married too. i'm not opposed to a women wearing bindi and mangal sutra if she wishes but why it has to be a parameter on which to judge her character? and yes i also support widow remarriage. if someone's wife dies at an early age society will expect that man to get remarried because how will you live this long life on your own you need a life partner is what they say but why a widowed women is not allowed this freedom? isn't her whole life in front of her? i also oppose the extravaganza and pompous displays which are typical of indian weddings. i also oppose all that dhol-dhamaka. why can't people simply get married in a silent wedding ceremony? why you have to announce to the world that you are getting married and thus disturbing peace of all neighbourhood and blocking roads with wedding procession? i also oppose inviting just 500 people to your small pompous wedding ceremony as if you have to prove to someone that see how many people you know.
      and as far as taking care of old parents is concerned that should also be on the basis of reciprocity. if your parents have taken good care of you in your childhood then you too should take care of them but there too indian society is number one hypocrite. who takes care of those parents who only have daughters and when all of them have been married off? why can't women who have no brothers are not allowed to also take care of their own parents apart from her husband's parents. basically typical indian mentality is still of treating wife as a personal property and a lifelong naukarani. so from next time, you ask your parents to do their own chores or you help them out with their daily chores instead of expecting your wife to do all that stuff.

    • @kartikgada6782
      @kartikgada6782 7 років тому

      @TheLegend: What nonsense lol.. This things might be happening in your surroundings. At one point you say American culture is better and when it comes to Indian culture you hate it. Why?? Just bcoz you you don't want to touch someone's feet?? You think Indian traditions are meaningless?? Why??
      1. Women is western countries wear wedding rings if they are married don't they? similarly in Indian culture women wear Mangalsutra when they are married. Now will you say women in western countries are personal property?? Doesn't Indian Tradition say that Women is GHAR KI LAKSHMI. isn't it a good tradition. Its you who think that women are personal property not others. Even Men wear wedding rings "to announce to the world that they are married too."
      2. The reason so many people are invited to a wedding is bcoz we Indians have big families.. We only invite those people whom we know and have their contacts no one goes on the road to invite people just to prove his wealth. If one can afford to invite so many people then y wont he invite them and if one can't afford then they still contact them and say that our son/daughter has been married.
      3. Talking about widow remarriage... they are done nowadays.. Sensible families did it in past too.. i don't know about your surroundings :P
      4. Taking care of old parents.. Indians do it better then any western country so plz don't compare it. There are few who don't care about their old parents but you can't judge whole country by taking them into consideration.
      I can't say anything about others mentality but your mentality is totally wrong...

      This is just the cultural difference, and while Obama was out there exclusively to meet people, ModiJi was going to attend an event at the ISKCON temple, while people greeted him(of course they will), doesn't mean ModiJi was supposed to walk in the metro to meet, if he'd been in cafe he would've gone to everyone, but wait, before that everyone would've already stood up and crowded him, that's the difference, while we go to extreme lengths to greet, americans don't even bother standing up and both are not very good, in an ideal situation people would stand up at their own places or go a little close if needed and wait for the 'Hero'(in the case of India) to arrive.

But saddly, Indian youth is more attracted towards American culture and following them blindly.. Touching feet of elders is age old tradition and has its own scientific significance. bbn bb i read one incident among many others of 9/11 day. when people were rushing downstairs from those buildings one indian american woman in the crowd was pregnant. the other people around her made her comfortable and also allowed her to right of way. if the same was happening in india people would have trampled upon her and she would have died even before the buildings collapsed.
      and i don't think average american favours wars in middle-east or anywhere else. its just that they are continuously brainwashed in the name of patriotism like muslims are brainwashed in the name of islam.

    For one thing, Obama's the president, not the king. U.S. Presidents are elected and expected to work on bettering the welfare of the people (economy, national security, and such important things) as in a government of the people, by the people, for the people. Our presidents are just regular people. For another thing, The U.S has been a democracy since it's independence, so we don't have the hybrid monarchy/democracy government that some countries newer at democracy seem to have developed. While, we do respect leadership in this country, Presidential performance is key to winning high public approval ratings and admiration. Also, if you jump up, the secret service will probably knock you down. Not only that, Americans are just more casual. Thanks for the cultural exchange.

      And respect is like love the more we share it the more we get it back, here the PM is an elder and he gives back positive energy in exchange of love from people(the feet touch)
      The more the love we give him the more dedicated he will become towards India's development, thus returing the love.
      Remember when your parents love you unconditionally and make you into what you are today and you return it by doing something for them, but say you will forever be indebted.
      The same here ,the people are ModiJi's parents the more the love and support we give as public the more he will work towards our better but will be forever indebted to us, that's how we should use our PM and extract the best out of him for us.
      Remember the one who makes the first move makes the other guy forever indebted, you better do it before the other.

    It just shows how deeply democratic spirit is ingrained in American brains and how deeply colonial spirit still haunts Indian minds! The president is just one civil democratic leader with some responsibilities and duties. Not your Maharaja!
    Ironically, btw the prime minister is NOT the most important person in India. He is just one minister with extra burden of legislative process. The president is the most imp person. But again ironically, while the American president IS the most important person, people don't go bowing before him like he is thei uncle or grandpa (or King).

    I bet Americans respect and loved their ex president Obama, and that's for sure everyone in the whole world with right mind will love Obama coz he is such a humble, kind and great person. And americans culture is different so it doesn't mean that if they don't stand up they don't respect him, and if you talk about our country India, people may touch modi's feet and stand when he's talking or giving speech, but be honest and tell me how many of them don't talk shit about him in his back.?
    Can you prove that they respect him with all their hearts, i bet you can't coz their are only few who will pay respect to any indian leaders, what are they even doing for the country except changing prices.

    If Americans do not stand, they are not disrespecting anyone. They treat their politicians and other military heads just like they treat their colleagues or friends. If something like this happens in India, half of the people would have been behind bar for disrespecting RED-TAPISM. Politicians are not GOD, they are servant of the public. When public comes Politician should stand. It is sad and height of RED-TAPISM to see how people are touching feet of PM in India.

      In India we give respect to any who is older in age by touching his feet.. Whoever he may b... Its our society... Nothing wrong in it.. It shows affection... Belonging... We r social in nature.. Not an individual... We live in combine family not a nuclear one... So its not dependent on leader... Its culture... The way we give respect..

    • @user-xv1ks5qm5g
      @user-xv1ks5qm5g 6 років тому +3

      Its your perspective.Americans are not wrong. If you think touching feet of PM is your primary duty then it is your personal decision. I have never heard people getting beheaded or killed when assassination of kennedy took place. However, story was completely different when Indira Gandhi got killed. Thousands of sikh families and innocent Indian Sikhs were butchered, beheaded and burned alive in Independent India. This is the problem area. Politicians are public servants and not Public is supposed to touch their feet.
