The first riff makes me feel like I’m playing portal
Thank you!! Portal is actually one game I've never played. Gotta add it to the list
Great review! And that final music is amazing ...beautiful piece...🙌🏻
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Brooooo!!!!!! You and walrus for the win!!!
Appreciate you dude!!!
This sounds so good, you don't even notice it's mono in the final music
Damn. Reverb should never be mono
@@theouterplanet for $130 to get these kinds of super long modulated decays, mono is pretty much the only way!
I notice.
Sounds amazing... wow... 😮
Thanks!
Sounds great.....but why MONO ?!!
The fundamental series are all mono to keep them at a low price, to get sounds like this in stereo you are pretty much gonna have to pay 3x as much, so it’s a great option for budget conscious people who want these tones!
Because it's 130 bucks. It's a budget pedal. That's asking a lot for a good sounding reverb to be fully stereo at that price
A trick is to put a very subtle no decay stereo reverb pedal in your chain to enhance it to stereo sounds,I have a few mono pedals in my chain including the Lore and I make it sound awesome with this technique...
@@patrickr6505 great tip!!
@@patrickr6505can u reccomend one
Incredible 👌 Wow amazing for the money 💰 😃 Beautiful Demo ❤ 🎶 🤩 🙌
Glad you enjoyed dude! Agreed, this one is special for the price! :)
Sounds great 👍
Thank you!
Sounds very Interstellar...nice!!!
Thanks!
Whoa, was that opening music one of the verb algos? I got the pedal but haven't had a chance to use it. That'll be nice after my Boss SY-1.
Yea ! It was 2 synth tracks running into the Haze algorithm.
Hey Miles Away I've been seeking the best possible reverb unit either physical or digital, this is good timing, would you be so inclined to tell me your favorites, regardless of cost?
I’m working on a video about exactly this! But here’s my quick choices: Meris Mercury X, Walrus Sloer, Strymon Nightsky are my absolute faves, Empress Reverb, DBA Rooms, Strymon Big Sky / Blue Sky are excellent as well
i bought two for stereo and if i need for stereo reamping drums or synths
Very cool! That haze mode in stereo much be just fantastic!
Sounds nice. Maybe they could offer a stereo version like Slo -> Sloer. Speaking of which, I know you have or had a Sloer since your video caused me to buy one. How do they compare, mono vs. stereo aside?
Sloer is my favourite Walrus reverb, I personally would stick to that over this. Haze mode on this is amazing though, if you really love reverb you could go Haze into Sloer, haha. But yea, this is kind of like a budget Sloer/Slo!
@@MilesAwayOfficial Haze into Sloer? Play one note into it and the tail would linger for weeks!!
@@ilovecatsandsynths9702 I am definitely gonna try that!!
Whats the midi keyboard your using?
its an analog synth with midi out, not a midi keyboard! its called the 3rd Wave
Would you advise getting a pedal as an external audio effect when the audio interface has only 2 outputs which are connected to monitors? I'd love to get a pedal but it sounds so tedious to always unplug the monitors, connect the pedal to record and then unplug the pedal and replug the monitors. Is there a workaround for this, except for getting an AI with more outputs? :D
Honestly dude I would wait to get an interface with stereo send and return capabilities first. The joy of using pedals in the kind of daw music we both make is basically having them as real time plugins you can tweak with your hands. I think you would lose the magic if you had to stop your flow state to unplug monitors!
@@MilesAwayOfficial Gotcha, thanks for letting me know! :)
Mono is fine with me. Can u recommend a nice stereo send with MIDI I/O
😅Damien
Late reply man but I use a UAD Apollo interface to do this! Most audio interfaces with 2 i 2 o and midi should work.
@@MilesAwayOfficial thanks!
What synthesizer are you playing?
Just VSTs in this one, DIVA
@@MilesAwayOfficialSounds amazing!!
I was all in until I heard the word "mono"
I mean it is a budget pedal
Fair! If you want stereo you have to spend more, I recommend Sloer for a stereo similar tone
This or walrus slo?
I honestly haven't used the Slo, but I'm a huge fan of Sloer. This one is pretty one trick but it does that trick really well (ambient). Slo might be more versatile, but both sound great!
are these the same algorythms as the ones in the sloer?
no they are different! Haze in particular is super fresh, it sounds like if you mixed ambient reverb with something like Gen Loss V2
if this were stereo it would be an instabuy
It's already an instabuy
Buy two
gotta get the sloer
Mono only ? Seriously ? For a reverb ?
Budget reverb! If you want these kinds of 30 second tails in a pedal, you have to spend $$$. This is an option for those that want that high quality vibe for cheaper
@@MilesAwayOfficialYes of course... If you want a budget car, you get one with 3 wheels only ???
£100 for a mono reverb? 🤔
Oddly, you've then added some stereo in the mix.
The only reverb is the Fundamental, I’ve just panned certain recordings of it’s reverb right or left to give stereo. In the studio you can get away with mono reverb easy
@@MilesAwayOfficialOh, it sounds much better for it, but perhaps somewhat misrepresents the sound of the pedal? You certainly made it sound good. I just wonder how different it is to a cheap reverb or those built into many modern mixers, given some budget stereo reverbs cost much less. The tails seemed nice and long.
@@ld8341 I didn’t mean to misrepresent, I talked about how I use it as a send. That way you can run stereo instruments in your computer, record mono reverb from Walrus, then mix it however you like. Many of the sounds like the guitar and intro synth are full mono source only too.
Mono only ? Seriously ? For a reverb ? Get a TC Electronic Hall of Fame instead...
this is the same price roughly and sounds way better imo. Hall of fame is basic reverb sounds with dated algos. This is more like a budget Chase Bliss Dark World.
Hall of fame is way more powerful (toneprint), the walrus pedal is just a cheap piece of hardware overpriced
