Pro Pilkki is an Finnish ice fishing simulator.
ProPilkki is simple to play game is controlled by mouse. First player must select the fishing location on map . Then at preferred place click "Kairaa" (Auger) to drill a hole in the ice for fishing. After the hole is finished, you'll need to place jig/ bait /w rod, and press "Laske" to drop down the fishing rod. During that time, you can use the Return/Enter to lure the fish while fishing. When a fish bites "rod moves ,nods" press "NOSTA!" quickly. Fishes you can catch are as follows: Perch, Roach, Ruffe, Bream, White Bream, Whitefish, Pike, Rainbow Trout, Trout (Ahven, Särki, Kiiski, Lahna, Pasuri, Siika, Hauki, Kirjolohi, Taimen)
"Pro-tip" on DOSBox start the game with "Pilkki 1" to get the sound/options

I found this game while playing My Summer Car. I really enjoyed it actually. I love ice fishing and I also love old basic DOS games so it is perfect fit. Something I find funny about old games is sometimes they can actually be more in depth and more complicated than new games they just lack the graphics. Text based games are a great example some are so in depth they are a pain to learn.

Very low-tech for a 1999 game. These are like 1987 graphics.

This game was made by one or two guys. Try the more modern Pro Pilkki 2. It is graphically scarce, but it's simulation aspect is well done. It has an active multiplayer base.

@@exr879 I grew up with and owned most 80s games. I owned everything from Odyssey 2 to PC games from the era. There's a big difference between 1989 games and games from like 1993.
