Fantastic reading. Yes. I have been trading the markets and even became a commodity and Forex Broker before leaving and continuing my quest to be self supporting via the markets. Imho local artists are MOST of thee best films, bands, music, performances (magicians, acrobats, everything creative related!), painters etc., spoken word, street performers and ESPECIALLY THEATER! ... authors, puppeteers, fashion, hair, makeup, costume, props, dancers... it's GREAT you just said the same thing JUST RN/as I wrote that lol!
(And YES, even the well known performances/creatives/artists, too! (Never occurred to me to go DIRECTLY to their own websites/platforms/socials. So they took: get paid DIRECTLY vs., the faceless labels/'wizard behind the curtain'...
I'm pretty much retired from a 35yr career in media and had to ALWAYS work a "survival job" the term is lol... And (only speak for Myself) most public will never know that even the artists who are in a production and know their face/work does NOT mean we're paid accordingly.. if I'm making sense! Not all talents with well heard of/well known/largely followed afford the basic needs of life on their (my) art, alone. There was never a time when was NOT debating whether to create/do what I LOVE... Or quit my hearts desire/miserable without and go from a PT essential worker at any job that would hire me to FT...
I do miss it, EVERYDAY. However, my entire health in every category of the word is worth more to me now.
(I could go on for days about artists and the struggle and life regrets, choices, true happiness etc...lol)..

I always laugh when someone pooh-poohs a lottery win as being unattainable when there is someone winning those HUGE lottery prizes that are given out all across this nation! Why not me? Am I less deserving than those who have won big? The chances of me winning a huge lottery is far more likely than me becoming a novelist, movie star, successful artist or successful musician since I have no talent in writing, acting, music nor drawing/painting! I can't carry a tune! I'm just an average Jane and there are plenty of average people who have won life changing money from the lotteries played across America!
Oh and the huge lottery winners have to work hard not to fall for the scams that come at the winners. Staying real and not letting all that money change them for the worse.
