    I got my 4RS 18 months ago. Its one of 2 cars that Ill never sell. Each time I hop in to it I enjoy the trip.... Id consider buying a Manual 981 GT4 to park beside it , i think both of these models are going to be fun for years down the line. As for prices I hope the prices drop to a pointwhere the people who will drive the cars can afford the cars. We need to see these dragons out on the road for all to enjoy.

    I have casually watched GT4RS prices in the US since Nov 2023. Not an expert. Perhaps the prices have dropped slightly, not sure? I do not believe any GT4RS has been offered for sale in the US for under MSRP. Even with significant mileage (5,000 to 12, 000 miles) the asking prices are still above MSRP in my observation.

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  7 місяців тому

      thanks for the input :) I think ours are likely under sticker already due to us having enormous sticker prices in the first place against the rest of the world and having 3 price increases since production. I'd guess there are some in the US changing hands for much less than advertised

    • @ArtemisRat
      @ArtemisRat 7 місяців тому +2

      In US, the used GT4RS market dropped a lot recently, lots of dealers lowered the price for 10K, but still high. For new allocations, dealers work together with flippers and refuse to lower the price, still asking 40K above MSRP.

    I for one was seriously trying to get a 4RS, but glad I didn't, spoken to many owners now and they all say it's TOO much for the road.
    For info, there has been 2 GT3s in PTS for sale, one is still up on cs, signal yellow.
    Also, rumour too is that the 992.2 GT3 will only be in PDK in Oz. Mine is a manual CS, sweet, maybe the last of??

      I did forget to mention I saw a Viola purple GT3 that didn’t last long too, it went for well over sticker and looked fantastic :)
      Unsure what will happen with 992.2 GT3 but every other 911 will be hybrid right?
      Enjoy that beauty!

      @@Driver_88 Correct, Viola was the other. The Signal one, he sold as he was one the first to get a 3RS allocation. Also has a 992 classic and I believe a S/T too(or on the way). Sweet garage.
      Porsche from what I have heard so far is that yes the 911's will all be hybrid and the GT3 will be kept as long as they can as NA. They are working towards the enviro fuels to fuel the 994(?) GT3 series. But it's hard to get straight answers from anyone.
      Got your licence back yet? What's your planned buy? 991GT3RS are now 'cheap', well with in reason.

      991.1 3RS still above 2019 prices though Haha!
      I have a daily coming to play with for a bit next month, tbh I like the look of a 991.2 GT3 with ceramics, too bad the prices and lack of stock suck in Aus.. happy to chill for a bit!
      I remember Andreas Preuninger saying they considered turbo for the 992 gt3 given euro emissions, they may well have to change it by 994.

      yes, I noticed that! A number more GT4 RS were allocated to dealers in the final allocation of 718s which won’t help their prices. It’s only an issue for people wanting to turn a buck so good to see flippers caught out. Disappointing though 0:31 seeing so many GT3s and GT4 RS being flipped. A few GT3 RS too. How does this happen when these cars should be going to serious customers?

    Actually - at least in North America-the upper end cars (Porsche GT market, upper end Ferrari specifically) tend to remain in demand despite recessions.
    True that the lower end models depreciate
    Comes down to the fact that someone with wealth / income buying at that level is and tends to remain financially stable vs the typical upper-middle class mid level executive etc who buys a standard 911 or Cayman etc

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  7 місяців тому

      I have noticed lately that upper end examples at RM Sotheby’s (and only the very best stuff) is still very strong.
      Also the SP500 just hit an all time high.

    One thing I found funny was seeing the price gap between a 992 GT3 and GT3 touring at zagame. From the top of my head, the shark blue PDK GT3 was nearly $60k more than a black GT3 Touring manual. The Non touring also had more than double the kms, and was sitting for I think $590k. Issue is, in a few years time, people are going to scramble for tourings and manuals and the prices will flip around.

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  7 місяців тому +2

      Zagame always has crazy asking prices for their used high end stuff :)
      I think the issue with the Manuals is that a % of people order them thinking they’ll be rare to flip or make money on and then don’t use or keep them, leaving a glut, if one isn’t offered for the 992.2 then sure they’ll be very strong

    Just because Porsche mentioned 7,000 GT4RS units when they first started building them does not mean that was the final number. I understand Australia got around 140. For Australia that might be quite a lot. I have driven 14,000 kms and appreciate the car for what it is : an RS car that is raw and firm. But even around town if offers a good deal of theatre and enjoyable feedback. After the price increases the standard GT4RS was $100,000 less than the non RS GT3 in Australia, though both cars have the same amazing engine. Those who can put the 911 snobbery aside realise that many reviews put the GT4RS ahead of other Porsches for reasons other than just value.

    Very interesting about the use case for the GT4RS. As you have had both the 718 GT4 and GT4RS, based on your experience which would you choose to purchase again?

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  7 місяців тому

      I’d personally take a 991.2 GT3 if I had my choice again, front and rear feel way more planted which suits more road driving, maybe in a country with way smoother roads it’d be better.

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  7 місяців тому

      But GT4 VS RS I’d still pick the RS the GT4 is a brilliant all round car but even in pdk the gearing feels so long and holds the car back.

    Good analysis but the prices you quoted are under MSRP for the seller but for the buyer with government charges and duties they are probably selling at their new price or a bit over. The lower cost cars are very basic spec and many don't have WP or even a nice dash and aren't that desirable for long term owners. There arn't any PTS cars or ones with a hood stripe and very few with carbon ceramics and those type of cars will always be more special and of course their MSRP is considerably more. I think there are a lot more highly optioned 992 GT3's on the market in comparison.
    Just my 2cent of course, good video mate.

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  6 місяців тому

      I made sure to quote prices with 'on roads' paid with both Models in this Vlog for my state of Victoria, so there are still that many in Australia under RRP for the 4RS after on roads, for example weissach pack and light spec is 425k+ RRP now and there are a number of Weissach cars under this amount even with on roads.

    • @Driver_88
      @Driver_88  6 місяців тому

      Keeping in mind the figures are relevant to over a month ago when i filmed this, things can change quickly in a small market, people have generally specced the GT3s higher this is true, there are often a few GT3s that people spec without anything with the mindset to flip them asap :)

    I think your number is very high for the GT4rs and very low for the GT3. Its more like 5-6k of both GT4 and Gt4rs models and 12k for the gt3 in the same time. Gt4rs is about 4 times more rare, in fact both gens of gt4 are likely more rare than every standard 911 version (base,s,gts and gt)

      It seems like deliveries have taken a fair while, off the top of my head I think it’ll hold value really well because…
      There’s not a single Porsche in the entire line up that combines Roof down, 9k rpm GT engine, and pdk..
      it’ll have a very short build time frame, personally I think it’s an absolute keeper and more useable on the road than the cayman.

      I heard the Launch is around April~ June period this year, so cars should arrive for the owners within that period if You've ordered one.
      Matt Watson from Carwow says the dampers of the Spyder RS is much softer than the GT4 RS, so it's definitely more comfortable and usable on the Road. Especially considering Aus Roads have a lot of lumps & bumps and Tram Lines/Railway Tracks that would be a harsh ride for the GT4 RS to go over.
