Tenor Choir Practice: “Gloria” from “Missa Brevis in C major” , KV 220 /196b , Mass No. 9, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in 1775 in Salzburg. The mass is festively scored like a Missa solemnis with brass and timpani in addition to four solists, strings and organ. The chorus dominates, especially in the Gloria and the Credo. This mass is often called "Spatzenmesse" or "Sparrow Mass" because of the violin figures in the Sanctus and Benedictus, which is thought to resemble the graceful sound of a sparrow chirping.

Gloria in excelsis Deo, et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis. Laudamus te, benedicimus te, adoramus te, glorificamus te. Gratias agimus tibi propter magnam gloriam tuam.
