Same car. If I remove the alternator, I can then pull the ac compressor out the same way ? I need to replace the compressor but trying not to remove the fans and radiator.
What you’re missing is that you have to use a top mount engine hoist to lift the engine up so you can clear the alternator to come out,, without lifting the engine the alternator will not come out, I may have to do a video to show how easy it is…
No need, unscrew top ac hose (2 10mm screws) loosen up pw reservoir (10mm screw) then remove coolant reservoir now u have enough room to remove alternator may need a bit of help to move aside pw reservoir n ac hose gently wiggle alternator it will come out.
Sorry for the late reply but that is special tool made for certain honda/acura serpentine belts. If you google Honda serpentine belt tool it should pop up, but it can be pricey for limited uses. A long 14mm wrench can do the same job. Best of luck!
if you replace the timing belt does that impact the alternator? do you just do both at the same time? 2010 MDX with 200k miles trying to get everything i can out of it.

The one piece of info I needed was barely mentioned, and you didn't even bother to show how it was done. How does he plug come off the alternator? Push sides? Press top? Lift tab? Use screwdriver? WHAT? Don't quit your day job.
My advise to anyone doing this job TEST THE NEW ALTERNATOR before installing ,good luck.
Thanks man, looks simple.. I'm going to change Mine today!
It's not horrible but i completely forgot to show how to take it out. Bit of a pain but i hope it went relatively smooth with you
This was a really nasty job. No room in the engine compartment to get to the tensioner. Brutal to get the old one out.

Maybe you were working on one with worn, or sagging engine mounts?

What is the name of the curvy tool you used instead of the two other ones? Sorry don’t know names of tools.

The one thing I needed to see was the alternator coming out of that hole. You didn't show how.
