So this video came across my feed and without seeing that it was your video I just noticed the thumbnail and the title, “micro adventure time for a snack”. I thought to myself, that sounds like an interesting video, and I clicked on it to see what it was about, and I have to say I was not disappointed, it was entertaining, artistic, and somewhat thought-provoking without being pretentious. All in all it was a great little video.
😂 That is a very nice compliment! I went for a walk in the woods and shot some video without any plan. Then the idea came to me after I got back. So the whole intro was shot after the hike! (You can see how sweaty my back is when I am walking in the kitchen!)
@@MATTnRACH also your choice of background video that you were watching on the television got me thinking, what really is the definition of an adventure? Is it some gear intensive and complex multi day sailboat journey into the Arctic, or is it as simple and humble as a short walk into the woods to eat a handful of Gorp? I’m also a big fan of the silent film style in the sense that there’s no dialogue, just the natural background sounds which lets the viewer decide the details of the storyline.
@smtitmas I can always count on you to have some valuable and intuitive feedback. I have loved the concept of “micro-adventures” ever since I heard it said first (I think) by Alistair Humphreys. Because “traditional” adventures are so available to watch on social media, read in books and listen to on Podcasts, a walk in the woods can feel like a poor excuse for one. But this concept elevates a walk in the woods…or anything else done that lets your mind be free to wander and create. And it makes me more excited about doing and documenting what I used to view as insignificant.
