Another great video Tim. need to get a hold of the strainrite one now for another test. I have a knot i would like you to test and make the figures for is there a way i can contact you with a photograph of it?
@@FarmLearningTim Yea there are tons of different brands these are sold under dont really care what one you test just want to see if the idea is sound or if it causes the wire to be weaker
Known fact and proven by experience, on any form or wire or cable, a properly selected and installed crimp or swage connector will be stronger than the wire or cable. . Yes the wire or cable will usually break immediately adjacent to the crimp or sawge, as long as the wire or cable is not damaged somewhere else. . This applies to fences, industrial rigging and electrical connections. . Beginners can usualy be more easily taught to make good connections by crimping or swaging, than by any other method, as long as they are teachable.
You really need a proper shield on your testing apparatus. I would hate to see that wire whip back and slice out your eye. Safety glasses won't help if it snakes under them.
Even with a hand crimp gun I've found crimps more reliable than anything we use. Of cause I've found endless problems with the humans using the crimpers so most of our guys won't crip. Battery crip guns are on my list but jesus they are more expensive than a Melbourne coffee.
Thank you for the teaching, dear Tim!
