i use to always think when older i would go back to all the old tracks to regain memories of my child hood unfortunately i left it to late hume weir has gone warick farm to oran park and amaroo as well and catalina is still there but trees are taking over that the one for speedway fan old tralee speedway tragic , seems housing is more important than child hood memories , thank you for the upload helped with so many wonderful memories watching my father race there

To whoever decided to block this video...you have deprived the public from seeing the closure of a piece of Australiana many loved....hope you feel very proud.
Loved doing Supersprints here back in the 90's with Group 7 & the CAMS Speed Event championship. A much better circuit than Amaroo. Did my last event back in 2009, where i dragged the right rear corner of the car long the concrete wall, leaving a scar it still has today. Even helped run a Hillclimb for the NSW Hillclimb championship on the GP extension, using what was called the North circuit. Loved the flow of the track from the exit of the Esses through the left hander previously known as Suttons & over the Dogleg. Almost as fast as on the main straight. Eastern Creek just isn't a replacement, to me. They've named all the streets in the housing development after touring car drivers.
Shame they couldn't get hold of any of the old TV footage. Despite what the script said there was television in the 1970s. TCN 9 used to telecast the old Grace Brothers Toby Lee series. Occasionally, very very occasionally, we would see the odd highlight down here in Melbourne on Channel None News and on at least one occasion they ran the telecast down here as well. Sadly like so much of Seven's old Calder footage and 0/!0's Phillip Island coverage most of it was destroyed.
Imagine this popping up in your recommended 8 years later.👌
Will Hagon...the Golden Voice of Motorcycle racing commentary....brilliant

It's a shame someone didn't buy this track and keep it going.
Legend, cheers for the upload mate.
V8SC can only dream of crowds like the 1971 ATCC round
