If any one loses the job entirely burden falls on them to quickly find a new job because a single partner cannot be able to pay home emi, household expenses, kids school fees unless they are wealthy people. So your dialogue is no more valid. When my dad taught us this rule of each one of us cleaning our own plates, my mom was a housewife but still my dad taught us this because this is not a gender thing that a woman only has to clean all the family members dishes. He taught us responsibility. He taught my brother and me to do household chores to help mom because everyone knows that a mother doesn't get holidays. Her job is non stop. And these days the mothers are even working women. But husbands have become more lazy and irresponsible now because they know they can depend on their wife's salary as well.
