The Malaya Girl represents the mindset of Chinese settlers to other countries 50 years ago. Old Chinese settlers in PH, including my grand father, think they are smarter because they have businesses without considering that the Filipino culture does not surround around money and most Chinese that time were successful because they can trade with Chinese (because they can speak the language and there were cheap things from China even before then) and they did and still do not have problem employing other people and treating/paying them badly. Definitely, It is not a matter of intellect. As part Filipino Chinese, I see this kind of attitude among elders Chinese migrant to Philippines, even until now. The 2nd or 3rd generations Chinese now who understands Filipino culture and adopt the ways, are not as hard @sses. I actually stopped doing business with old Chinese people because I can't accept the business mindset and tight culture that they have that put more emphasis on money rather than fair treatment of human beings. It just didn't feel right as 3rd generation Filipino-half Chinese who is more Filipino. I think around that time of their debate, Philippines were more advance than most of our neighbors. We had a good amount of very educated people, and to be fair, I think compared to traditional Chinese, I think Filipinos at this time were more civilized than most of our neighbors. It was ironic that she shaded the Filipina kid and then said they are civilized. During this debate, the Filipina kid was more civilized and respectful. She really represented the Filipino way. Filipinos in the south are more related to indigenous Malaysians. So if she insulted Filipinos, she insulted the indigenous Malaysians, as well. Now I understand why in Malaysia, they have to label "Malaysian Chinese" the Malaysian Chinese in their passports because the Malaysian Chinese themselves define themselves as superior that ofc the real owners of the land will not be happy about. I hope the new generations right now will change it.
@@renzasss4070 from other comments above, even malaysians (actual natives and not imigrants) do not claim the malaysians chinese and distance themselves from them since the malaysain chinese would consider themselves more chinese anyway and follow cultures and beliefs of their chinese roots. @@HJS2000 No, when we were defeated in a war against the British in Cyprus, which was Turkish territory for more than 300 years from 1571, only the administration authority passed to the British, but the land will still belong to us. After this agreement, Cyprus was annexed by the British and Greeks began to live in the region. However, for many years, the majority of people there were Turks. The Greeks living there wanted to unite with Greece and by forming an uprising they called ENOSIS, they murdered the Turks in the region in a planned way in order to dominate the entire Cyprus lands. For years, they have massacred the people they lived on the same land in peace, their neighbors, with internal turmoil and with the support of weapons they received from other countries such as England and Greece. Their aim is to have full control of the Cyprus lands and to want to unite with Greece. This non-war massacre is considered a regional genocide and is inhumane. @@rabbitazteca23 I'm not sure if you've seen my other comments I've pasted all over this comment section, but here's something to consider why we Malaysians don't claim her. This debate took place in 1958, which is a year after Malaya achieved independence in 1957. Before independence, we live in RACIAL SEGREGATION under the British power. This means little to no exposure to each other's races within Malaya (Chinese, Malay, Indians all lived separately by regulation). Her parents or grandparents might also be migrated straight from China and were not true born Malayans. This could lead to the possibility of her being raised with China values and principles, hence her rather bias viewpoints. We don't claim her. Today, Malaysian Chinese wouldn't wanna associate themselves as China Chinese, we are Malaysian Chinese and want nothing to do with China. If we are attacked by foreigners, we will fight and protect the whole of Malaysia, not just our own race. That's the difference because recent generations are raised by true Malaysian-born parents. Independence gave us freedom to mix with each other's races, don't be surprised if we Chinese and Indians have a huge percentage of Malay in our blood. It's part of our history, we've been through thick and thin together. We are the real Malaysians, not her. Hope it's understandable. Year and events are important to one's representation and attitude here.

Stereotypical Turkish mothers, grandmas and teyzes beat your ass if you don't wash your hands before a meal. Our elders always advise us to say "Bismillah" before taking a bite which is the Muslim way of thanking God. Finally, we have our own saying in Turkish "Ellerinize sağlık!" which means "May health come to your hands!", we use it to thank the cooks for our meal. "May good health come to your hands that have prepared us this meal". I find it funny how people who hate us have come up with these super unrealistic ways to feed their own ego, when they know nothing about how much Turkish culture values hygiene and cuisine.

Even now in 2021, looking at the comments section i can see the hatred of some Greeks towards Turks. As a Turk, growing up, i was never taught to hate Greeks for the conflicts happened in the past (and happening all the time). But this young lady clearly hates the whole nation and this makes me really sad to see that the prejudice is horrible and racism and hatred are even more disgusting than that. As Mr. Onder said; we have bigger problems with bigger nations still due to super sensitive circumstances around our borders. As a Turk, even after i read about the horrible things done to Turkish women, children and men in Cyprus, or before the Cyprus conflict, I don’t hate Greek people nor have prejudice towards them. I am educated enough to know that mistakes or actions of people in the past can’t be related to actions/nations of today.
Hi sena, Greek here. I'm happy to hear that you were never taught to hate the Greeks or any nationality for that matter. Do not mind the greeks that only know how to insult someone for Turkey, they are not worth your time. They are no longer the rule but the exception, you may already have guessed that the older generation plays a role here. Victims of violence warn their kids about a specific group of people to the point the kids learns to hate them. Then that grows up to have kids of their own and the cicle continues . They tend to forget that times change and the people responsible are either dead or that they no longer represend their people. Sometimes it is not even the parents that are fault but the education system itself. At the start of her speech you can see how she boasts about the greek culture and nationality and what they achieved, that is a mindset that is planted in the minds of the youth. A bit of insider knowledge, even the military played their part in this, in the national liberation day (and Ochi day) students from ages 10+ learn how to do military marches, they go on a parade and salute the generals on their way. This sometimes becomes a hot topic as to a kid that celebrates their independece from the Ottoman empire in such a militaristic way can plant ideas in them. They are kids they should be worried more about if they ask their crush out, not saluting some man with a rank. Copying a page from the Turkish lad's book , Greeks today do not really care about Turkey. They are worried more about cracking down on corruption, if they can afford rent, if they can raise a family, Police abusing its power in some areas, companies "accidentally" burning entire forests to build more buildings and e.t.c. Every country has fanatics of any sort, either political or religious. Just don't let them be the voice of your people :)

At a time where Christian Empires forced any conquered people to convert to Christianity or killed anyone who refused to do so, the Ottomans stayed true to their book and accepted different faith' and only made them pay some tax. Despite being under Ottoman Rule for more than 500 years, the Greeks still had their Orthodox Christian Faith, their Greek Names, their Greek Language and Greek Culture.
1/3 of the Turkish population in the Balkans who lived there for 500 years perished during the Balkan Wars. Most of them were either targeted directly or were forced to march and fell to disease. There was no mercy towards the civilian Turkish population because they had been painted as oppressors. The killings were not only ignored but celebrated as breaking the chains of tyranny. Barely documented. Barely noticed. The remaining were forced to leave and a small portion somehow managed to stay. This was a complete ethnic cleansing portrayed as fights for independence. A much repeated slogan of the time was to "drive the turks out of Europe" which implied that any means to target both Turkish civilian and military target was legitimised.
lol, I really admire the guy from Turkey about his opinion on Cyprus. He said that obviously Turkey doesn't want to have the whole island, but only northern part where 120k turkish people live. (300k Greek in southern part as well). However, the girl from Greece says that "but look at Pakistan, its divided by India and its still one country, one nation" . She referred to Bangladesh which declared the independence in 1971. In the earlier part of the conversation, Greek girl tried to despise turks in few ways, but when it came to the partition of the Cyprus, she said that its ok to have 120k turks under Greek rule. I really dont understand her opinion. Onder from Turkey clearly said that Cyprus is only 43 miles away from Turkey while it is 150 miles away from Greece, thats why its important for them to have their own 120k people in northern part of Cyprus. Imagine New Zealand being part of USA while its only few miles away from Australia. (Don't give examples from British colonization:))
@@Lisa-zi6hb before that, Cyprus belonged to the Egyptians tho, at some point it belonged to the Venetians. So you got what I meant? Just bcos you had a soil before, it doesnt make you the owner of that soil. Take for example Siberia; it is thought that Siberia was the place the Turkic ppl and the Turkic languages originated from. Today, Siberia belongs to Russia. But can you see any Turk crying to Russia "give us our MOTHERLAND back 😭" no you cant. for they are wise, they simply dont look back as the Turkish guy in the video is. @@Lisa-zi6hb omfg- what does genocides have to do with it? why does every person have to open up that situation, probably thinking this will work! Oh, if you really wanna talk about genocides (you were the one who first talked about it) then let me tell you only some of the "bad things" (I'm not pitiful enough to call them genocide and lying) the Greeks have done during Ataturk's time. Only in the year 1919-1923! According to Justij McCarthy, 640,000 Turks were murdered by the Greeks during the Independence War. Again around 1919, Greek Army murdered around 300-400 Turks! According to Marjorie Housepian, in Izmir, 4000 Turks and Muslims were murdered by the Greeks! In Menemen Massacre, 200 Turks were murdered by the Greeks! According to Kinross, in Usak, Greeks had destroyed the places the Turks lived so the whole city was under a huge fire. In Manisa, out of 18.000 buildings, only 500 stayed strong. In Armutlu, many women were raped by the Greeks! In Istanbul, 5.500- 9.900 Turks were murdered by the Greeks! In Aydin, 385 Turks were murdered by the Greeks! Do you want me to continue all the other vicious things the Greeks have done to the Turks, in only those 4 years old time period? Also you are saying the Ottomans didnt give much to them and also saying they were already rich in ways- you should rethink what you have written. Also, I know the Anatolian Turks are the natives of Anatolia, many Turks know that. They are mostly the descendants of the Sumerians, Hittites, Lydians etc but do Turks accept them as their ancestors? They dont. Why? Simply Europeans wouldn't allow it. Bcos they also know how those people were the backbone of Europe. When Turks say they came from Eastern Asia, people say "nooo you are anatolian, your DNA is different from the eastern asian turks you dont even have slanted eyes" but then when Turks are saying they are anatolian (the turks are both anatolian and e. asian) people say "nooo you are mongol go back to mongolia you were always in eastern/central asia". So that's why The Turks talk about them a lot when people like you open up those conversations. Both the Turkic people and the Native Anatolians are the ancestors of the Modern Day Anatolian Turks; making them way more richer than Greeks; who werent even the natives of Anatolia!
@@Lisa-zi6hb the reason why the religion was similiar is bcos greeks literally took many inspirations from the Anatolians and their mythology when they came and hellenizate them and their culture! Thus leading to a MASSIVE greek dna in modern day Anatolian Turks; partly natives of Anatolia! The Greeks have literally BUTCHERED the dna of the Native Anatolians, and when the Turks came to Anatolia and got mixed with the Native Anatolians, leading to today's Turkish people having a FUNNY DNA STRUCTURE that still amazes me. They have Anatolian, Greek, Italian, Central/Eastern Asian, Siberian (the motherland/origin place of the turks as stated in my previous comment, dont forget it, i'll get to that point a bit later) Finnish (not quite sure how but I have some theories) Irish (the ancestors of the irish ppl lived in the centre of anatolia) Balkan etc! Oh the variation! Also, I'm sure many ppl like you are familiar with the date 1071, people think the Turks came to Anatolia in that year. But this is wrong, the year 1071 was the year that gave hopes to the Turks, saying, you can finally establish here freely, there are many evidences such as Turkic gravestones found in the Eastern side of Turkey that goes way back of 1071, there are also some tablets written in Gokturk alphabet and also one more example, the dna of the Hittite people! (well this is obvious ofc since today's turks are mostly the natives of Anatolia) Now why did I give you this information? Read this carefully, which gives us an information about the dna of the Hittites; "That seems odd to me as the article states, ‘They had some DNA-4% to 16% Siberian -from "northern ancestors" who came either from Eastern Europe or Siberia.’ I was under the impression that Indo-European languages had originated on the Eurasian steppe, not the Caucasus." This person thought the reason why as to hittite people have about 4-16% Siberian dna is origin place of the language. She says "I was under the impression that Indo European languages had originated on the European steppe, not Caucasus" I laughed a lot, that she is thinking siberia was a place in Caucasus, but anways. The origin place of the Indo European languages is indeed the European steppe, modern day Northern Black sea, Ukraine-Eastern Russia region. So why does the Hittite people have that Siberian dna? It is because of the Turks! The Turks have always been going around Anatolia as I gave you the evidences, we can even see that by looking at the 2 Chinese sources saying 1. Some Turks did not have slanted eyes 2. The map of The First Gokturk Khanet So you see, it doesnt give any importance if the Hittites called the Greeks with some endearment words As for the Language, it is the thing that gives the LEAST importance, for example look at Yugur Turks; they are Turkic-Mongolian but some of em speak a Tibetian language. Or look at the whole continent of South America, they speak Indo European languages (mostly Spanish and Portuguese) but they are mostly not European (except for the Argentinians) In the 192-30-40s, when modern day Turkey was established, they gave importance to the Native Anatolians and so, the Turks and the German scientists worked hard on it. (Ataturk was the one who had hired non-Turks to come to a clear conclusion) And Turkish ppl back then already knew their ancestors; both the Turkic people and the Native Anatolians were their ancestor but during the 1960-80s, some civil wars occurred where those scientists were sent from the country and those places got shut down, the evidences got lost (pretty strong evidences compared to their time) People indeed didnt want the Turks to know that most of their dna was Anatolian, and I already told you the reason in only one sentence in my previous comment. But people didnt forget it and they made their names live on in their brands such as "Etibank" (Hittite Bank) "Sümerbank" (Sumerian Bank) and even the symbol of Ankara (capital of turkey) was the hittite sun, but they also changed that... The reason I have written all of this is bcos you seemed that you believe Hittites have nothing to do with em etc
@@Lisa-zi6hb oh my, i also wrote that turks have greek dna, didnt you read? i didnt deny it. also i told you the reason at the end of my comment as to why i had written what i had written. (The turks and the germans already accept that the Anatolian turks are the descendants of the Hittites) but it is not to say the turks are greek, the turks are mostly the descendants of the native Anatolians as ive explained with details and now you are telling me "eh idk what u tryna say bro 🙄" do you think im joking or you are just too butthurt to accept the truth? Also the real reason as to why many turks have a high percentage of greek dna isnt the intermarriges/harem etc At those times, Turks were muslim and if you know islam, you'd also know that islam forbids muslims to marry/have sex/have children with non-muslims (tho muslim men could marry non-muslim women if those women converted to islam) And islam was way more STRICT than today is, actually even today, people are still arguing whether if it is ok to marry non-muslims and you are telling me as to reason why turks have greek dna is bcos they directly had sexual relationships with the Greeks. Wrong. The Native Anatolians decided to become Muslim, while the Greeks etc didnt. When the Anatolians converted to Islam, they started living with the Turks and speaking Turkish. Today's Turkish people are directly the descendants of those. Then why do they have Greek dna? It is because as I've told you, the Greeks came to Anatolia and they Hellenizated the Anatplians in many way- including marriages, thus dna. When the Turks came, The Native Anatolians had already gotten a huge pure Greek dna. Look, im saying pure. Later, Greeks got mixed like the many people around the globe did and do, even today's Greek dna, you can also see the variation but not as much as the Turkish dna. Even in some examples, The Greek dna of a Turkish was WAY MORE than a Greek dna of a Greek. It leads us to a very well known part; today's Anatolian Turks have slightly =~ "pure" greek dna than the Greeks do. But again, bcos of the Greeks they have an oddly splitted dna structure. Also, do you think Greeks would want the Turks to accept "we are actually native anatolian with much greek dna; meaning we are partly greek" I'm sure many greek wouldn't want that but yet they always say "you are greek/you should get rid of your "turkic history and language" etc, thus shows how hyprocrite they are! Also dont worry, as a person who had mastered from the University of Mimar Sinan; from the part Fine Arts, I already know which clothes/dances belong to whom. The word horon is of rûmi origin, while the modern day dance comes from the Çepni Turks; who were a part of the Oghuz Turks and were settled in Karadeniz region, as to go way back; it comes from the Gokturk Shamanic movements/rituals, just like the many other dances such as Semah, but which is an Arabic word. If many of the dances are of Turkic Shamanic origin, why do they have non-turkic names you may ask. The reason is called in Turkish "arap/iran sevicilik" directly translates into "the admiring to arabs/iranians". Even today, there are MANY MANY Arabic words in Turkish. When the Turks were around Eastern Asia, their culture and langage was protected from the Chinese. They simply didn't want the Chinese culture to affect their culture, even a Turkic Khan (it was either Mete Khan or Çi Çi Yabgu or someone else) had said "I cant dress my people in Chinese clothing" or as of that nature. But when they came to West, they loved the Arabian etc culture and language so much they literally turned their langauge into a trash can with many foreign words. Even the Tradition of Eating Halva after someone's death comes from the Gokturk's but it also has an Arabic name. Turks simply dropped the Turkic names of verbs adjectives words and replaced them with the Arabic/Iranian/French/Italian ones that they admired so much. Or even the word merhaba is of Arabic origin. Does that mean the Turks didnt have turkic names for "hello/horon/halva"? No, ofc they did have names for these but with the reason I've explained, they put many non-turkic words into their language and today you can see many dictionaries that are sold under the name of "pure turkic words" etc and even I had one even tho I'm half Zaza! So, again, linguistically speaking, a name given to a thing does NOT automatically makes that thing of that language's culture origin^^
@@Lisa-zi6hb if you want to compare today's Turkish dances to old gokturk shaman rituals tho, you can find pages and videos about that, but I'm not gonna force ya. Also as I've said, the origin of the word doesnt decide anything. For example today's Indonesian people use A LOT OF arabic names but are they Arabic, does having arabic names make them Arabic? No, think of that way. I've already told you Turks changed many words from Turkic to Arabic Persian French Italian and now dictionaries that only sold turkic words are popular, even in colours, only black green and yellow are of turkic origin, I'd say more than %10 percent of the every day (common) turkish vocabulary consists of non-turkic words so that's why when turkish is being spoken, people often think it is either arabic or french, or people like you think a dance is not turkish just bcos the name isnt. As for the "genocide" if you really really want to call that, then i'll pity you, you deserve being pitied, you deserve to being forgotten and unloved, you ARE and WILL be forgotten and unloved. That's the difference between you and me. We dont cry to Russians and Chinese "noo you did many genocides to turkic ppl (I can name a few if you want) and stole our land you genociders! You did awful things in awful ways!" can you see any Turkic person saying those? you cant. for they are wise, or can you see any African crying "western europe bad they enslaved us uhuhuhu" or any Jewish weeping "Germany is evil this is bad they tortured us they hated us we must also hate them they are bad and evil!" or any Japanese saying "America bad they bombed us twice many people lost their lives!" or can you see any Korean "Japan is bad they raped women, enslaved man, they tortured us and used us in the name of science, they are evil" no you cant. You simply cant. Because wise people forget and take lessons from the past instead of always talking about them, on the other hand, whing people like you cry to the world saying "uhuhuhu turkey bad they did genocides they did awful things 😭" and always dwell on the past, like the greek woman in the video talking about her past they did this they did that, but I don't really mind you dwelling on the past, it comes in handy for us in any ways

It's funny how the Greeks considered themselves so superior. At that time, all countries were ruled by a monarchy, it is wrong for the Greek girl to criticize without taking this into account. This means that even if another country occupied it, the same results would be experienced. It is quite normal for every country to have a desire to expand its territory.
Good to know that!!! Bless you and ypur businesses!!!

If "to eat like a Turk" is used as an insult in Greece, then they know absolutely nothing about us. Do you know how much preparation goes to having a meal in a Turkish home? All of us take our shoes off (some switch to indoor shoes or slippers) right before we step in.

Onder from Turkey clearly said that Cyprus is only 43 miles away from Turkey while it is 150 miles away from Greece, thats why its important for them to have their own 120k people in northern part of Cyprus.

@@Lisa-zi6hb before that, Cyprus belonged to the Egyptians tho, at some point it belonged to the Venetians. So you got what I meant?
They have Anatolian, Greek, Italian, Central/Eastern Asian, Siberian (the motherland/origin place of the turks as stated in my previous comment, dont forget it, i'll get to that point a bit later)
Finnish (not quite sure how but I have some theories) Irish (the ancestors of the irish ppl lived in the centre of anatolia) Balkan etc!
(well this is obvious ofc since today's turks are mostly the natives of Anatolia)
Now why did I give you this information? Read this carefully, which gives us an information about the dna of the Hittites;
"That seems odd to me as the article states, ‘They had some DNA-4% to 16% Siberian -from "northern ancestors" who came either from Eastern Europe or Siberia.’ I was under the impression that Indo-European languages had originated on the Eurasian steppe, not the Caucasus."
This person thought the reason why as to hittite people have about 4-16% Siberian dna is origin place of the language. She says "I was under the impression that Indo European languages had originated on the European steppe, not Caucasus"
I laughed a lot, that she is thinking siberia was a place in Caucasus, but anways. The origin place of the Indo European languages is indeed the European steppe, modern day Northern Black sea, Ukraine-Eastern Russia region.
So why does the Hittite people have that Siberian dna?
It is because of the Turks!
The Turks have always been going around Anatolia as I gave you the evidences, we can even see that by looking at the 2 Chinese sources saying
1. Some Turks did not have slanted eyes
2. The map of The First Gokturk Khanet
So you see, it doesnt give any importance if the Hittites called the Greeks with some endearment words
As for the Language, it is the thing that gives the LEAST importance, for example look at Yugur Turks; they are Turkic-Mongolian but some of em speak a Tibetian language. Or look at the whole continent of South America, they speak Indo European languages (mostly Spanish and Portuguese) but they are mostly not European (except for the Argentinians)
In the 192-30-40s, when modern day Turkey was established, they gave importance to the Native Anatolians and so, the Turks and the German scientists worked hard on it. (Ataturk was the one who had hired non-Turks to come to a clear conclusion)
And Turkish ppl back then already knew their ancestors; both the Turkic people and the Native Anatolians were their ancestor but during the 1960-80s, some civil wars occurred where those scientists were sent from the country and those places got shut down, the evidences got lost (pretty strong evidences compared to their time)
People indeed didnt want the Turks to know that most of their dna was Anatolian, and I already told you the reason in only one sentence in my previous comment.
(The turks and the germans already accept that the Anatolian turks are the descendants of the Hittites)
but it is not to say the turks are greek, the turks are mostly the descendants of the native Anatolians as ive explained with details and now you are telling me "eh idk what u tryna say bro 🙄" do you think im joking or you are just too butthurt to accept the truth?
Also the real reason as to why many turks have a high percentage of greek dna isnt the intermarriges/harem etc
At those times, Turks were muslim and if you know islam, you'd also know that islam forbids muslims to marry/have sex/have children with non-muslims (tho muslim men could marry non-muslim women if those women converted to islam)
And islam was way more STRICT than today is, actually even today, people are still arguing whether if it is ok to marry non-muslims and you are telling me as to reason why turks have greek dna is bcos they directly had sexual relationships with the Greeks.
Önder aslında türklerin ne kadar kibar hoşgörülü saygılı eğitimli güçlü olduğunu söylemekten çok gösterdi. Helal olsun gurur duyduk seninle Önder...
