    I skated when I was 11 but was only able to ride around and couldn't ollie or even ride down curbs, so I gave it up. Bought a skateboard again when I was 19 but still never learned to ollie, only cruising around and gave up pretty quickly too. Fast forward 6 years and I decided to skate again and really try this time. Didn't give up, so here's what I got so far.
    All of the songs in this video are originals by bands I'm in (do check 'em out!):

    Betrayer - Seavision : open.spotify.c...

    I hope this video encourages you to start skating and progressing because watching other people's progression videos really keeps me motivated and excited to skate and progress. Hope it does the same for you. #Skatebooarding #SkateboardProgression #ProgressDaily

      @PHeMoX 4 роки тому +5

      Haha, I wouldn't say you're that old yet man. I got back into it at 35, couldn't do much more than ride around (not fakie/switch), ollie (kind of) and short boardslides on a DIY rails that was pretty much as low as could possibly be, at age 12 or so. Never too old to learn skateboarding I'd say. I'm not yet doing all my tricks consistently moving now, but I did already manage to land a few varial kickflips within only a month or 7 and am about to land my first kickflip any day now, out of which 2 months or so had me skating almost every day (for 1 hour up to say 3 hours). In those two months I've progressed a _lot_ ! I'd say older people can still learn very quickly when they try to skate every single day. And take it slow too, it is better to not get hurt and not have to wait weeks before you can skate again, than to get frustrated about getting hurt over and over. No need to rush anything even when it may feel like progression is taking a lot of time. It's a good work out either way, even when it obviously will take time to get the kickflip and tre flip and stuff like that. Oh and while I think it may not apply necessarily to you yet, it is a good idea to stretch before skateboarding when you get older. That should prevent muscle tearing and such too, even for younger people.

    • @Toolbox_Ty
      @Toolbox_Ty 4 роки тому +2

  • @TheSkateLurk
    @TheSkateLurk 3 роки тому +1

    You learned quite a bit especially for only 4 months of skating. One thing that could help you improve is working to keep your shoulders straighter. When you Ollie I notice often times you land a little crooked sometimes. If you focus on keeping your shoulders square with the board you will be able to straighten ollies out and eventually kick flips, heel flips, and more. When you do a 180 you throw your shoulders to direct the skateboard to make it work correctly. The skateboard always follows the shoulders so when you’re not keep them square you’re bound to land a little bit sideways where your shoulders were when you the skateboard took off. Good luck brotha, keep grinding, you’re killin it. 🤙

But its also kinda a confrontational video. Because some of these clips give me so much anxiety, you attempt stuff that I can't even think of attempting in 1 year time. And you are skating like a absolute lion few months in. You seem to have no fear and your commitment is admirable. And you just seem to have the right mindset and commitment for it.
