@Amber Verdun Sorry To Hear But Death Is Something We Will All Have To Accept And Other People Are Dying And Here You Are Caring About 1/70000000 People On The Earth
my friends and I came up with a parody, Robert's got a rubber band, and then All the kids with the paper clips, better run better run faster than my thumb
Teacher takes figet spinner Kid spins revolver me RUN FOR YOUR LIVES Also me WAIT here's a fidget spinner kid oh thanks I'm killing you anyways me WAIT WHAT *gets shot
Haha I love how he said, "to have a band, to have a g-g-guiitar, god forbid to have a guitar, an electric guitar in top 40 radio." Which is true, it's sad that actual instruments are no longer being popularized. Don't get me wrong I love electronic music and learning how to use it is as difficult as playing an instrument, but I miss hearing the shrill of a guitar on the radio. I play guitar and I've tried to learn how to make music on programs. Trust me it's just as difficult
what spoke to me about the song is how it was mocking our sick society of crapy public schools clicks and bullying and violence. violence today is portrayed as the cost of doing business and not as a real problem. thank you mark for making this song
For anyone wondering, it's actually about a mall shooting which occurred back in 2007. The person who committed the shootings name is Robert Hawkins, who was known to have been in trouble with the police and struggled pretty much for all his life, he also even wrote a suicide note and can be found on the net. The most obvious clue though is literally the first lyric of the song "Roberts got a quick hand."
You're overanalyzing his response. He could simply be acknowledging that he does in fact have the same style. Doesn't have to be vanity, though it could very well be. You're just overreacting lol. No need to spend this much time on the internet
AJ Anims “All the other kids with the pumped up kicks, you better run better run, out run my gun, all the other kids with the pumped up kicks you better run better run, faster than my bullet”.....You don’t get it?
I need him to make an hour long video just talking about the band's music and the meaning behind songs, I love his voice and the way he explains things so much
i thought the song was about the mall shooitng with robert hawkins. lyrics are "robert's got a quick hand, he's looking for you he won't tell you his plan"
Dude I remember when that happened I was 10 years old and it happened in my state only 50 miles away in Omaha that was the first time I realized how anyone could get gunned down and killed by a lunatic with a gun just by going outside.
Danny The Elite yeah I was in that mall when it happened I wasn't in the exact same store but you could hear people screaming and gunshots and everyone was running and I was running and it was really scary.
When I was little, my mom would always play this song. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of this one time her and I were sitting in the car(when I was 6), with the car doors open, outside of the house, blasting the song. One of my favorite memories as a kid
The meaning of the song is that a little boy finds his dads gun in the closet. The thing hes planning to himself (as it says in the lyrics) is that hes planing a school shooting. The reason why in the lyrics it say all the kids with pumped up kicks better run faster than my gun means, that when he starts the school shoot out he's targeting the kids with nice sneakers as nike. I hope this helps with the meaning
Melody in Pumped Up Kicks really matches the feeling of the school hall way in the afternoon. When you are still in your classroom finishing your late works, and most of the students already returned home. You finally finish your work and realize that your realible best friend was waiting for you the whole time. So you walk with him down the hallway with sun lights flashing down upon you.
With this specific song the type of music it's irrelevant, the fact that they are pushing the limits of what can be saying without been banned or extremely offensive, it's art itself, this actually contribute human race self recognition, one of the most important roles of art...
That moment when someone makes fun of a kids sketchers and then he starts singing “all the other kids...” you know you gotta throw your Yeezeez as far away
As someone who went to Douglas i can’t even listen to this song anymore. I use to listen to it all the time when i was younger but now just makes me nauseous. Doesn’t take away that it’s a good song and it’s powerful and beautifully written. It needs to be written and make sure the media listens.
The song is extremely deep and very good. Kids get bullied everyday & they are left at their braking point.. it's not right to shoot up the school thats horrible.. They need to stop the bullying!! Allot of school got shot up In the past few years and it's extremely scary... I love this song so much 💓💓 it's very deep ❣️
He says "that stupid chorus over and over again" Idk I think that people can relate to this song and we can relate to it some how. So I don't think its stupid.
i would actually really like the hear the other version he was talking about in this video, i think it would be really cool to hear how he wanted it to sound, also the fact that so many people have heard this song and haven't listened to their other music is crazy cause all their music is so good and that should be recognized aswell, it's 2019 and people still talk about this song, i still love it

+Assatta Clarke (VinategQueen1253) "OMG EVERYTIME I SEE AN ATTRACTIVE MALE, I NEED TO POINT IT OUT, BUT IF A MALE POINTS OUT HOW HOT A FEMALE IS, HE'S SEXIST"
this song gives me anxiety because there was a school shooter at my school, and after school the day that he was there, i had a nightmare that the guy was in the empty hallway of my school and you could hear his footsteps and he was playing this song. my sister was with me because her middle school is down the street from mine. he found where everyone was hiding and i carried her and and started to run out of the campus. we made it two blocks away, but he followed us in his car and he was going after us. i let my sister off of me and told her to run, take my phone, and never stop until she makes it to the police. he pulled out his gun and started pointing. i pushed my sister into the bushes which led to another street. she tried to stay but i yelled at her to not worry about me. i heard a gun pop and i felt a pain in my chest. then i woke up with a panic attack. i will never feel anything more than 75% safe at school ever again. edit: i still love this song though
I have to wonder if Mark Foster had heard the story of Barry Loukatis, who killed two students and a teacher and wounded another student at Frontier Middle School in Moses Lake, Washington, in 1996. He went to school dressed as a cowboy and carrying a semiautomatic pistol he stole from his father.
The chorus is the best part of the song! I mean, the whole thing is great but the chorus puts it over the top... Glad he doesn't have a chance to re-do it :-)
