    Welcome to the wobbly wobbly world of LEGO and city building. I’m excited to see what you do with your city as I have the exact same idea of doing the city over two tiers with trains running around the lower section and more buildings on tier two for my city (LEGONDON) . And yes, a LEGO city is a constant MOC and it’s never really finished. Having just discovered you mr channel - I wish you all the best - cheers 👍

      Welcome along! Your starting a Lego city video was one of the first ones I’ve found, so few out there that literally start from an empty room and I found yours really helpful. Definitely inspired the storage drawers, it was your link in your description where I found them!

      @@blockpartyuk that’s really nice to know 👍the city is getting a reboot this year and I’m collating ‘stuff’ for it - Ninjago City is the next building being added ( on MILS as well ) I’ve got an order coming this week from IKEA for two new table tops and then I’ll be adding the wood for the second tier - I’m using kitchen cabinet feet for the elevation off tier 1 - have you thought what you’ll use?

    • @blockpartyuk
      @blockpartyuk 6 місяців тому +1

      I’ve just ordered a big piece of MDF. I’m not certain it’ll be strong enough, if it isn’t I’ll just use it to even out the table tops and try something else!

    • @LONDONBRIDGEBRICKS
      @LONDONBRIDGEBRICKS 6 місяців тому

      @@blockpartyuk MDF will be fine - because mine is in a garden cabin I’ll have to use something a little resistant to colder weather - but having wood to flatten out the surface is a good recommendation. I’d also buy an electric screwdriver as well - but I think you have that covered 😃

    Lighting wise the IKEA mittled LED worktop strips to the underside of the shelf could work really well and give you a constant light source over the city. Each strip throws out a lot of light. The downside would be when the strip lights are on it could make the display pieces on the shelf seem a bit dark

    Stud spacing is 8 mm, so a 32-by-32 baseplate is 256 mm square, hence your 24 mm (3 stud) overhang. Annoying that LEGO doesn’t quote the size accurately!
