- In today's video, "Why I Stopped Using Google for Cold Email," I dive deep into Google's recent move - selling its domains to Squarespace, and the implications it has on the world of cold email. As we've relied heavily on Google Workspace for our cold emails, this development has definitely stirred the pot. Watch as I discuss the changes, my personal experiences, and the evolving landscape of cold email campaigns.

Great stuff Alex! Purchased and read your book in less than 24 hours. As a new cold emailer, I am trying to absorb everything I can from you in order to build my business. Loyal follower! Keep it up
Glad to hear it!
@@AlexBermancan you answer please. What do you think if for example i want to create my 2nd or 3rd Workspace account so should i put everywhere my personal info like photo, name, business, email etc? Or it’s gonna be suspicious for google?
@@Fsociety-xu4hr Similar names and photos yes not the same photo over and over
@@AlexBerman okay thank you for your response man. So i can use the same contact email and business name as well?
@@Fsociety-xu4hr Same business - not the same contact email
That’s what i call a content. So informative, loved it.
Thank you
Seems like this is going the same direction as bulk mail went 2 years ago. We are going to need to spread our infrastructure across many platforms. Diversity the ESPs that we use and invest in IP blocks. All of this just to play a game of cat and mouse.
Agreed
I knew there will be something , everything good comes to an end , ecspecially with online business'es ... Its allways like that , Seo , facebook ads , cold email .. this is why i think sadly ill have to get a job at some place one way or the other , its just so easy and risky to loose your income nowadays and if you dont have 6 figures laying around from your ventures it can be devastating.
Getting a job to build skills and get case studies is sometimes the best option
I worked for an agency for 2 years before I started my own
Alex, the king of cold emails, I really like your content.
You're the best! Keep up the amazing work. 👍
Thanks!
I like this content. I want to stay updated on this matter.
Keep it coming!
Damn I literally have all of my emails with Google.
They might become more strict but email makes them so much money. I don´t think Google will make such a decision.
They might have way stricter rules but it´s such a cash flow for them it woulnd´t make sense.
We´ll get through it Alex, hope I´m right godamnit
For now yes. Let’s see what happens. Google is in trouble
Bro I also hope you're right I have 400 inboxes in Google Workspaces w/200 domains. Can't set them up again 😭😭
I also have 100+ Workspace accounts. What software do you use to send out the emails? I'm rolling with Instantly.@@kotilabdulkadir
@@kotilabdulkadir Could i host 3 email on one Google Workspaces accout with 1 domain or do i need 3 google workspaces accout to host three email i am trying to figure out pricing?
Thanks for the video, just wanted to clarify my understanding that it was the mailbox servers they kept? So that hasn't changed?
Google Workspace email inboxes are still active yes
I like how you say "it may not be worth my time" to make videos like this... Video has done better than past months videos.
Mental time but yes, this is an interesting data point
Can you please make a vid about how to add outlook onto Omni? Also, I’ve noticed Microsoft Outlook is specifically made for business emails and they have higher sending limits as well as each mailbox added is only additional $6 per mailbox.
Yes, this is coming soon
from everything i see online, it's taking more and more emails to book meetings since more and more people are spraying and praying
i do think the results of cold email will drop drastically but like with any industry those that weather it will come up better
Customized emails will still work
AI is getting better - when you want one person to get an email they usually do. it only breaks down when you send 100s or thousands of emails
Keep on Creating Alex. I'm working on improving my email game and enjoy your perspective and your content.
Such a Pirate

Glad to hear it!
I just bought your cold email manifesto book on kindle and I found it very unigue and interesting. I'm new to the email game. I'll keep learning from your UA-cam channel on the updates.. I'm also here to help improve our email community if I can. Thanks for sharing your unique knowledge.
Glad to hear it! For coaching etc check out Email10k.com
Ah shit man, i had just started with the cold emails. But now that Google is cracking down, what do we do man. We can go into the wild west called Microsoft. But google was stable.
The war is heating up. You can still use google if you personalize the emails and follow the principles of great cold email.
Just not for mass sending
@@AlexBerman yeah Alex, of course we have to find a balance between automation and personalization.
Have been qualifying each lead, being hyper specific, and making sure the other guys are the right fit. If u do all of this, spamming becomes impossible 😅
@@AlexBerman
at what point do we label it as 'mass sending'? If I'm dispatching 200 emails a day, does that qualify? 🤔
@@yasserzakaria1140 multi inbox and using spintax to bypass sending with no personalization
@@AlexBermanare you actually personalizing each email by hand or using Open AI at this point? Otherise, how can you scale this? Thx👍
LinkedIn bro, all day long... keep these coming Alex, hope married life is treating you well :)
Thank you sir. Married life is going well 🔥
How is the overall deliverability with the new setup?
Better. I’ll make an update video on this soon
Good content bro! Do you have some sort of social space where we can exchange experiences in cold emailing? Like a disc server or sth?
Yes! Email10k.com
Wow, we just moved all our platforms to Google Workspace and looks like we might have to switch again soon. So unfortunate.
good alex CE is changing...
If we just send 50 emails a day,
Then
Also do i will havr to change if not 1k email.😮
Outlook is having issues last few weeks
Like gary v said marketers screw up everything!
So just to clarify again... from now on we should use Outlook as our primary email provider...?
I'm using outlook for the next 10 domains
@@AlexBerman what should I do if I want to set up everything from scratch for my new biz?
@@forgodani Join Email10k I'll walk you through it
@@AlexBerman Sure, I'll check!
Do you recommend Google Workspace for the main email though? (not sending cold messages, but keeping and managing everything on the main account)
@@forgodani Yes, I still prefer the gmail interface to outlook
the squarespace acquisition was super annoying for sure, great breakdown here!
Do you recomend using Sendgrid, Mailgun or AWS SES with Instantly? Or just outlook + Instantly and no need for another SMTP?
Instantly used to be good but its really become crap recently.
This was so predictable
Times change
@@AlexBerman no people have always behaved like this. Just saw a loom of karsten fox. He looked like a east european spammer with his gmail "strategy"
Now these headlines are so compelling and persuasive!
Thanks!
If you don't use Google for cold email then what is the ALTERNATIVE?
Microsoft365
Awesomee content, didn't know any of this
Keep doing these vid!
Might have to!
Question: how are you dealing with the phone number confirmation issue with Gmail?
Just google "non VOIP phone number verification" and a bunch of sites come up charging anywhere from 50 cents to $2 per number
what you are Goona use now instead of google workspace?
It's in the video
love you man,, thanks
Just getting into cold email got any tips? haven't even bought a domain yet
Hey! Start with cold email manifesto: coldemailmanifesto.com
Do you have any videos that have a full summary/walkthrough?@@AlexBerman
That are up to date
@@JoshElakatt yes! Inside of Email10k. Here: Email10k.com
So your reason for switching is that you don't know what will happen with Google Workspaces and Domains?
Yes - not worth spinning up new campaigns on a platform that might shut us down soon
How do you know if your emails are going to spam?
If you see a severe drop in response rates compared to previous tests. You can also use a site like Mail Tester
man wth I'm just starting out. I got lucky and couldn't get the domain from google so right now Iv'e godaddy, instantly, lemlist and neverbounce.
What do you think about the general future of cold outreach? Dyt more of these companies will start backing out?
❤
Don't you have a cold email platform?
I’ll stick with google workspace until it all comes falling down 😂
Erhm
Can you do a video on setting up cold email with outlook?
Soon yes
i'd love to see this@@AlexBerman
Wow...very informative!
Thanks Steven
was looking for a crm / cold calling cheap way and you helped me narrow my search thank you!
How do you create a custom SMTP?
Might cover this in a future video
@@AlexBerman look forward to it as this seems to be the safest route moving forward

I would like to do automated cold email outreach for a business. The general advice is to use a domain separate from the domain of the business to avoid the primary domain of the business from getting flagged or getting a bad reputation. In other words, use disposable domains. The general consensus seems to be to create a separate google workspace account for each domain that you create. However, another school of thought is to use a single google workspace account (the same account that you initially set up for the business), and then, for each domain that you purchase to send emails from, you add that domain as a secondary/additional domain to the existing google workspace account of the business. From my understanding, this strategy would also work, because even if email activity from one of the domains causes that particular domain to be flagged or results in that domain getting a bad reputation, then it would not affect the primary domain of the google workspace account, or any other domain of the google workspace account either, because each domain is distinct and operates separately.
Therefore, I have two choices: Create a new google workspace account, and add/connect the domain that I purchased for automated email outreach to it. or 2. Add/connect the domain as a secondary account to the existing google workspace account that I already set up for the business. Which strategy would you recommend? and why?
Yes although outlook is preferred now to google workspace. Happy to coach you through it if you join email10k.com
@@AlexBerman Yes what? lol. Also, how much do you charge for coaching?
