I gotta say i havent played pvp in years and i have got to say this is the most nothingburger vid ive ever seen on it. "Op biiigggg rayyy" healed instantly. Literally nothing anybody did in these fights mattered
i was a pvp healer many years and DF healing converted me to a pve player. i forget pvp existed and was like: "frosfire is undertuned for both spec rn" then realized pvp still exist and tuning is different :D
There are a lot of bugs tho that are driving me away from frostfire frost mage... Like, frostfire bolt not synergizing with Bone Chilling and Deep Shatter talents. Also, shatter is triggered "on impact" instead of "on cast" when it comes to frostfire bolt... which means you cannot spell-chain it with Flurry to maximise the damage (frost bolt is "on cast") Another thing that has been bothering me is Ice Form PvP Talent. A lot talents benefiting from Icy Veins are no longer effective when you pick Ice Forn, even though it replaces Icy Veins. This was not the case before and right now it ruins my spammy 1-button cleavy frostbolt build.
I leveled a frost mage through the radiant echoes thing, and when I noticed how many buttons they have in PVP, I instantly dumped it. All yours, guys. 🤣🤣🤣

Once again the HP pools are so big the numbers lost its value. Really dont understand why WoW devs are making this mistake over and over again, especially since they did stat squishes multiple time so they are aware of this problem. You really dont need to make the raid tier diff 100% of stats on items, just make it 5 % - you will get the impovent and the numbers will stay on reasonable levels instead of this BS...
So, can we talk about how you did like 60/90/80mil damage and both healers had like between 50% (HPal) and 100% (Pres) mana left still. So... if classes do NOT do Frost Mage damage, you will never get a healer oom? Not trolling, legit asking. Also, Pres mana regen/cost seems broken if this is an accurate example. @_@
Your logic doesn't really make sense. If someone dies before healer is oom then someone usually made mistake. It's other thing if dampening is over 60% and nobody is still losing mana. But if someone dies in opener f.e. then ofc they still have mana left.
@maagi1 Someone died in all of these matches before the healer was oom. Possible they made mistakes, yes, but each match was several minutes long and one healer had over 50% mana and the other had almost full mana. Both of these healers being the one opposite Venruki. I'm just saying, while Frost Mage is overtuned for sure, these mana pools at 80 seem wonky. It's early and this is just some gameplay out of all of the Beta, it was just something I noticed. After several minutes of gameplay now, at 70, even experienced players are usually getting low on mana for most of the PvP ladder.
It's like that since Cataclysm. Healers don't go oom. They're OP af and should be banned from PvP because they only compensate the missing skill of their allies.
As an avid frost enjoyer (not because it's OP, but because it's always the spec I play) I would much prefer if this conversation was around how the damage of skills needs to be balanced between abilities rather than a flat out nerf to the spec. Damage should be moved from Ice Lance, to other abilities like frost bomb and ray of frost, so that all damage isn't instant and there is counter play to it. Rather than just say the spec needs to be nerfed, which will inevitably lead to the spec being dog water. Absolutely bring it in line with overall output, I'm not saying it shouldn't be balanced, but I feel like the framing of it is super important. Just my two cents :) As always, great content Ven! I can't confirm that. I see solid fights without anyone being particularly OP. Of course, if the enemies keep running you around, you'll still be dealing damage. You just won't die... does that mean your healer is OP too?
Frost's total damage looks impressive, but it still took usual 2-3 minutes to kill anyone each round. So I wonder how much of that damage was pad? Or maybe healers are overtuned / health pools are too big / several of that simultaneously?
well, that ret paladin should be the top dmg since it has the least cc / mobility / toolkit overall, all that a ret paladin can do is pad dmg and a bit of a offheal here and there and even there, the venruki did as much healing as him. that spec needs prenerf hard.

How do you expect new players like this? Or what if pvp didn’t have gear? Save that for pve. Then it’s JUST skill based. Quick way to balance too.
Will help so many players learn how to pvp properly though. Too many players that started pvping during shadowlands still blowing their beans all over the floor with 0 set up and killing through cds and claiming to be good because the game is so fast paced; slowing down isn’t always a bad thing 🙂

I don't think this is as glaringly op as people think it is. I mean, it's hardly as oppressive as Unholy Dk or Ele Shaman is it. Sure, scale back the damage by 5% across all abilities, but then you don't really get to the core of why it's broken. The thing about Mages is that over time, a lot of our spells have just become proc based and a lot of them cleave and all of them apply some form of slow, which then chances to root you. They could just make Frostbolt relevant again and make our shatters mean something instead of it being this trickle of constantly annoying DPS. Make frostbolt great again.

Frost mage is even more OP than the ret Rework few weeks, but see how he does not have the same energy...

Problem with this obvious campaign not to highlight frost being stupid OP until the last second is, now the only way to balance it is to nerf it massively pre-season patch, and that’s gonna sting the mage players badly cuz ya know it’s incoming ! Would’ve been a lot better to just talk about it over time and get it to a comfortable spot in the high tier :(
I feel bad for Venruki. Like honestly. Retail is just a shell of its former self and he's trapped in having to keep playing and supporting it cause it's basically his job. I hope he will find peace one day.
