This legit made me tear up because I had a crush on someone on the internet. Oh, don't worry, I only said had because I actually confessed to them and they said yes! Now we've been dating for a full year and even saw each other in person. But the thing is, they literally live on the other side of the US. But I can admit, having a crush on someone online is agony because you don't even see that person and real life and you're not sure if you know their true colours and you assume they don't like you back because it's the internet. I'm not too sure if I'm Demi. I mean, I guess I am because all my crushes were friends and I had crushes on characters I felt a connection with most of the time.
the fact this song was released like 4 days before my dumbass confessed to an online friend- he apparently had liked me for a while, and i think i liked him way before i realized i did, which is really funny to me. it's been a little over four months and god i could not be happier with him

I'm in love with my closest friend ever and I'll never tell him. We're apart of a friend trio, it's always the three of us, but I spend more time with him (the third of us is always busy, plus with a timezone difference makes it hard to constantly talk) and I just love him. So much. And I tell him all the time and he thinks I mean it platonically lol, and i wont correct him bc I'm not about to ruin our trio because I'm in love with someone across the country I've never met, but holy shit he's the prettiest and the loveliest person I've ever seen. His laugh and his smile and his jokes are just the best, I can't imagine being without him haha. Your song hits me so closely, it's wonderful, the way it's delivered and the lyrics are both just ahhh ❤️❤️❤️
