Mate I love your channel and I’m subbed! I’m a Fraser regular too. Just make sure you keep upgrading your camera as you always have the good content but sometimes the footage is painful! Keep up the good work mate !
Hi Scotty, you’re a legend mate! About ten days ago I was at Ngkala rocks watching you recover 2x cars at once with the unimog (one of the recovered vehicles was the exact same spec as my ute). After the recovery I had a chat to you about the conditions & to seek your advice and you took the time to explain to me exactly what you shared here plus a little bit more that I won’t repeat…. The next day I attempted Ngkala following your exact instructions and I sailed up smoothly and effortlessly first time. You essentially did yourself out of a recovery job. 😂 You’re a great bloke, it was great to meet you, thanks for the advice and wishing you all the best for the channel.
Nice one mate. I prefer different deflators like the Stauns. Sure they take a bit longer but I just don't like the idea of taking out the valve, especially in the middle of nowhere. If it doesn't go back in, you're screwed. 😉 Also, the Stauns are pre set... screw and forget.
Yes. So many people dont understand the basics. But everyone has to start somewhere. Love your channel. Tyre pressures are critical - even in a Unimog. Fellow U1700 Unimog owner in WA. One day soon I'll be over at Frazer Island. Cant wait... but kinda have to, annoying but true. Hope to see you there. Unimog on BKT 395/85R20 on Hutchinson Bead Lock rims, soon to add 3 inch Mog Central lift, Winches front and rear, removable trailer camper on tray, etc...
Hey, love your videos thanks, would love to see what high tide at the rocks looks like from your current position there on the track. Does it ever get so high to reach the track where you were deliberatly bogged?
Nah never gets that high. It probably splashes up to there when there's cyclonic weather but high tide the odd big wave only just reaches up in that little bay area beside the dip where I was parked at first. High tide usually blocks access along the beach about 500m up the beach at the next little rock section.
Hey Scotty, good to see you keeping the Ngkala Action alive😂 we do miss that place.. I like your idea of adsense revenue while making recoveries cheaper. 👍🏼
Nice one Laurence of Arabia, 😂, maybe sit off the barge landing & run this lesson, if you don’t know about tyre pressure management, you should steer clear of K’gari. 😆😉 love yah work 👍
Funny thing is even with all the info out there about tyre pressure and it's critical role some people will still put it in the cant be farked basket... without them we don't have content😁
Mate - I've subscribed to your channel as I like your content and message but you need to get a partner that can use a camera - will definitely boost your cred. Also the tire deflator is sooo ninties tech - I just deflated my tires with some clip -on deflators from Outback Gear which was a bonus when getting their recovery kit. Very easy. Thanks for the effort you put in and the video.
Yeah I use a system I've built into the truck but wanted to demonstrate something other people have. These style deflators are still about the quickest.
Subbed ages ago mate. As others have said, when you can, please invest in some camera and microphone. Will help you grow the channel faster than you think and help that cash to roll in
Awesome Chanel been watching, has been a bit annoying when you are holding th camera please can you invest in a better camera, keep doing it mate you have a Chanel that lot's of people will like 👍
The best way to find the best pressures for your vehicle is to load the vehicle for your trip or load the amount of gear you will have loaded whilst touring during the day away from camp. If you have a compressor, which you should have, you can do this at home or go to a servo and use their air. First measure the distance from the ground to the bottom of the rim, depending on tyre size should be around 150mm. Now let the tyre down until it's about 2/3rds of your measurement, which should be around 100mm and check the pressure. The pressures can vary from 15 to 18psi for highway tyres and as low as 8 to12psi for heavy duty all terrain and mud terrain and dependant on the load. Also drop the pressures down so the rim is half the distance, around 75mm, and record the pressures as this will give you an idea of what pressure you can drop to if you get bogged at the higher pressures. Momentum is not the way to get through sand, it is dangerous and can cause rollovers or running into someone head on, tyre pressure will win always. And DON"T SPIN THE WHEELS, you only go down in sand.
Mate and maybe once you make it rich on UA-cam tow up a crappy ranger or hilux on your trailer and then take it for the test. The mog isn’t very accurate of a normal experience now is it hahahaha
love the videos mate , keep it up!! cant wait to see more

Yeah I'm definitely working on it. Cheers for the feedback. 👍🏼
Hello from Romania, Europe. I have a Subaru Forester 2004 that loves go on the beach and offroading. Thanks, mate! Cristian
Subies go pretty good they float on top like zooks. 👌🏻
Used to have an old L series wagon. Was a little champion on the beach.
Remember passing many a bogged bigboy on rainbow Beach 😂

Glad I could help. 👌🏻
Cheers for ya support and kind words mate. 🤜🏼
Fancy that, running low tyre pressures works. I'll just sit and wait for the 40psi club comments now.
Hopefully, this video helps a few people out.

Yeah I've got some of that style pre set. I only ever use these for other people. I've got a system on my truck to inflate and deflate.
Same here. Staun’s preset to 18psi and haven’t been bogged on Fraser….yet.

Give me a holla when ya coming over. We can talk mog stuff. 👌🏻
Fraser guna be good content, get ya self a gimbal to get the steady camera on the move👍keep it up, good content
When you can give your sidewall a good hit with your palm and see a wave run through the sidewall you have let out enough.
Can't wait to get myself a mog, looking forward to seeing the mog in action.
Plenty of Mog action on the channel. Also look up www.youtube.com/@patandjele

That was high tide with pretty big waves while I was filming.
Good stuff... I won't skip the ads on your vids, give you a few cents or whatever it is 👍

Cheers. Don't miss it for too long. Organize a trip. 👌🏻
What a beast 💪
Yeah I work out a bit. 😝
Oh you mean the truck? 😁👌🏻
Great video, but you did miss one very important thing. Always check to be sure the valve is sealing after removing the tool.

Sorry - that was Outback Equipment

You would be the first person to try to get a Unimog stuck because they're impossible to get stuck

Thanks. I'm working on it. 👍🏼
Maybe you should have used a far less capable vehicle, the Mog is Awesome 👍🏻
Awesome Chanel been watching, has been a bit annoying when you are holding th camera please can you invest in a better camera, keep doing it mate you have a Chanel that lot's of people will like 👍
Yeah I'm working on it. And I've found a better app that has stabilization too. But yeah will get some new gear soon. Cheers. 👌🏻

What a load of bullshit.
I mostly just take the tyres off and drive on the alley rim. Saves on tyre wear!🤟🇬🇧

Concept still works no matter the car though. As long as the belly isn't on the sand and the tyres still have weight on them. 👍🏼
