Thanks for asking. The logic behind it, as explained in the video, is to keep the targets intact long enough to let all the competitors complete the competition. In todays economy, a $35.00 entry fee with included meal is not a money making proposition, it is a contribution to the sport. A couple of folks shooting 12mm steel at full butterfly will destroy $200.00 worth of targets in about 15 minutes. I personally shoot big stuff. I will be the first one in line to shoot a 50cal. lead ball through a metal bucket on the practice range, but for the competitive rounds thats a hard no.
