And yes, I've been back a number of times and everyone there's been here (the USA). Even better! But, because everything was so centered on Italy where I lived (Río Cuarto), I really felt it necessary to visit Italy! So, I really appreciate your advice!
My friend lives there and it's a big difference on prices compared to the US. And he told me that the gas is in liters not gallons, never knew that but overall it would seem really nice to live there

Absolutely! The whole of Europe (with some exceptions of course) is way cheaper if we take into account US standards. Rent in Milan or Rome might get to 1200 for a one-bedroom flat which is unheard of in places like New York, for example. Reggio is a nice place to live in but it has its cons, just like any other city. It's just a matter of knowing what you want from a place and, if it's good for you, then that's amazing! Personally, it wasn't my place in this period of my life.

@A R the us homicide rate it soaring. Police are quiting all over the us. Last year over 22000 people where killed in the us. This year will be worse. Us has 335million people. Italy has 61million and 280 people where killed. The people know this in the us. It's going to continue to get worse
are you still living there? how's it as an English teacher there? I was thinking to move there as an ESL teacher as well, but wasn't sure if communications would be easy since my Italian is not good. how do you describe your experience. Hi! I'm sorry, I'm just reading your message. I'm no longer living in Reggio - left in 2022. I have many videos about teaching in Reggio so if you have a more specific question, I would be happy to answer! My company was obliged - I believe - by law to provide Italian lessons to me as part of country's policy regarding foreigners living in Italy. I didn't have an issue understanding Italians since I speak Spanish and some words tend to be similar, but I was able to speak a bit more fluently about basic topics by the end of my stay. Nevertheless, I def recommend taking Italian lessons if you are planning to live there long-term. Hope this helps and best of luck! ♥

A friend of mine used Airbnb to get that first hand experience before living there. There are tons of b&b options as well. Idealista is a website which many Italians use when it comes to renting + Facebook groups. This is a popular one: facebook.com/groups/AFFITTI.REGGIO.CALABRIA/?ref=share .
I would also like to add that this really depends on when you're going. During the winter is dead. When it starts to get warmer, the city sort of comes to life again haha

@@Ananias17 but the minimum wage for a casual job in Oz is around 18 EUR (or 30 AUD). In Italy, it is way less and the cost of food and house bills is more or less the same. Additionally, depending on where you rent in Oz, house services are included with that rent. In Italy, most of them aren't.

Asimismo, cerca de ahí tienes el hospital, paradas del colectivo y un mercado callejero que suele estar los lunes y los viernes. El Coop está a unas cuadras también y es uno de los supermercados más grandes con estacionamiento. Lo que sí queda un poco lejos de la estación central de trenes de Reggio Calabria, pero estas cerca de Lido, que es la estación anterior y te permite tomar los trenes a al norte del país. Finalmente, estás cerca de la zona de embarque de los ferris que te llevan a Sicilia por 3.5 euros (a menos que haya aumentado). Yo vivìa cerca de Via Salazar y Cannizzaro. Espero que te sirva, muchos éxitos ♥
Me olvidé de agregar que te queda a 10/15 minitos a pie de varias escuelas primarias y secundarias (Archi Falcomata y Liceo Da Vinci, por ejemplo) y a como 10 minutos caminando de la peatonal principal de la ciudad.

I understood where you used to live by the description of the trash 😂😂. By the way it isn’t that way anymore (fortunately), that zone is a zone full of bad people. Now they do bill notes to the people who leave their trash there

Hello Andrea I'm about to move to cittanova if you ever heard of it!! It's in the outskirts of reggio! I'm coming from Morocco to work over there. I just want to ask you if I would be able to find a good job!! I master the English language but I connot speak Italian!! What sorts of jobs that I can find there? Thank you
I highly recommend learning some basic Italian before moving, especially if you're going to the South as not many people will hire you if you just speak English. Some of the jobs available are mainly within the tourism and hospitality sector, particularly during summer time as many bars and restaurants open by the seaside.
lived there for almost a full year. I absoluty hated it and couldn't wait to get the hell out. 95% of the people were very rude and didn't want anything to do with an American. The Main Street is nice but everywhere else is filth and garbage. I had a cockroach land on my head walking under a building and had a huge rat run out infant of me on a crowded street. Places don't open until 7 or 8 at night to eat so eating early is very difficult when staying in a hotel. On top of it all it's dangerous. If anyone is thinking of going I would say DON'T DO IT.
