- Situated only an hour from Toronto lies the University of Guelph. Established in 1964, after the amalgamation of 3 institutions, UofG has received many accolades in recent years. Including Top 5 university in Canada from Maclean's magazine as well as Top 5 veterinary program in the world from QS World University Rankings, Guelph has a lot to show for.
The Milkman stopped by the home of the Gryphons to visit the academics and while there, students had a lot of topics to touch on including the social life, workload, and even the local wildlife that co-habits the campus with the...humans.

I love guelph I’m in second year, if you branch out and be genuine you’ll find your people! There’s a lot of student influence and a sense of community so I think if students wish to then can use that to their advantage

That surveillance thing is real. I dropped a couple grams of 🌿 in rez and they tracked that shit all the way back to my room. Had to go to some drug addiction seminar 😂

Damn surveillance seems a lot stricter than it was when I was on res years ago. My roommates and I would smoke weed in our rooms all the time and never got busted

I go to Guelph and it’s dope... ppl r rlly nice and if u join sports teams and clubs it’s pretty easy to get to know ppl. Also I recommend actually talking to ppl in your classes and making friends with your roommates. Like it’s rlly easy to be lonely at Guelph if your introverted, but easy to make friends and have a good time if you put yourself out there

1:53 It is so true. Campus police everywhere. As a person who got in trouble with the opps on campus these ppl dont joke around- or dont do dumb shit like what i did
What a change from when I was there, when Guelph was secretly #1 in N. America for about 10 very terrible things. I think I only ever saw one campus cop over a combined 8 years (spread across 1983-2004). I guess administration went extreme.

Guelph is a liberal rural school. If you’re from Toronto Guelph is gonna seem really small but it has a nice community feel in my opinion. Campus is pretty, the residence food is good, and there is a ridiculous high ratio of women to men here. It’s a strange combination of hippy and farm. The students fill up downtown Guelph on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Facts, it’s crazy how many more girls than guys there is, I’d say atleast 70% are women. Not that it’s a problem but I wonder why

Guelph is a great city but they need to take care of their homeless, mentally ill and people with drug problems...downtown (which isn't far UOG)..

I am foreign UoG student and all I can say is DON'T come here if you are a foreigner it is hard to find friends you will be lonely people are racist. Professors and foods are great though. My fav prof so far is kim levere.

University of guelph treats us like shit.
They evicted us from residence and gave us a partial refund.
They're online classes during the pandemic have zero video and audio.
