I have 5acres around my house to play in. I built a small shelter to have overnights in. I went to it a couple months ago to find it destroyed. I suspect the teenager neighbor did it but I felt that it would be too much confrontation to accuse him. I rebuilt it and hung a sign. It said “if you use it leave it as you found it “. I’d rather not have the trespassing but how can you stop kids from being kids. lol. I think the message worked. I could tell someone was there a couple weeks ago and the shelter was fine. All my firewood was gone but at least nothing was destroyed.

What a bloody shame that someone would do that, always leave things as good or better than you find them is my rule ! You worked so hard to accomplish what you did !
Yes, and if you break something, try to fix it or leave a note like: sorry I broke ..... I tried to fix it, but I can't/don't know how. Just a simple note like that could make the difference of being mad or like OK at least you tried. It happens.
In the U.S. those thermometers are sold under the name “MEATER”. They are a real treat to use. A poussin chicken-looks smaller than a Cornish Game Hen. Nice cooking method (and the usual fine job on the video).

I've been going down to Santa Pod for donkeys and in more recent times they wont let you have an open campfire. So an old washing machine drum makes an excellent fire pit. Plus you can put a grill on top of the opening to do BBQ, and/or a wok will fit in it too. Mates were cremating sausages & burgers on disposable BBQs whilst I was doing steamed mussels in garlic butter & chilli in my wok. Yum.
Not far from where I live there used to be asphalt mines. The restaurant there still serves ham cooked in asphalt. I'm not a fan of cooked ham usually, but this is amazing. Slightly smokey and sweet, incredible umami too.
Hi Andy fairly new subscriber here, I’ve been binge watching some of your older content & I’ve been loving it! You’re very personable & unscripted, it’s like chatting with a buddy! So sorry to hear about the jerks you’re having to deal with! 😡 but you have a top fan from Texas that’s loving your channel & wishing you well!!!
Hey Andy, I would try that chiken, but my high blood pressure, Parobaly, go up to the sky, lol .. good food and have a good time in the woods that all the matters
Hi Andy it's a great day here in the Ozarks as well. We always cook our prime rib in salt like you are doing with the chicken. It always turns out delicious. We learned that method from a cooking show. A lady named Sandra Lee. Her show was semi homemade. It was a great show just like yours. Love your hard work you do for us. It is a shame that someone is messing with your stuff. You be very careful if you run into these scoundrels.
Thank God that they didn’t destroy your camp but still a dirty shame stealing your stuff. Love all your videos Andy . ATB Gail from Worcester Massachusetts 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦 ❤❤❤ confusing flags but I’m a Canadien living in the USA. ❤❤❤
I was admiring your cabin when you walked by. Sorry to hear about people not respecting your shelters.😢 Enjoyed the cooking technique and look forward to the clay version. Those potatoes looked so good. Blessings.🤗🪓
Similar idea I learned in scouts a very long time ago wrapped a rabbit in clay and cooked it was told works well with hedge hogs as spines stay in the clay.
Great video. It's a shame that some people pinch stuff and leave rubbish.. Andy does a lot of hard work making video's for us to watch on youtube! and he does not need this, so to who ever took Andy stuff they need to put it back. Look forward to the next cooking video.
That turned out well. I've baked in clay in embers (squirrel, rabbit and chicken. No hedgehog!) many years ago but never used a salt crust. Quite impressed. Sorry to hear about your "visitors".
Nice video Andy, I'd like to try your latest Salt cooking recipe. Sorry to hear that someone has been tampering with your shelters & nicking stuff. Dave B . Thailand.
In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with using a shelter when nobody is there. BUT leave it the way you found it, clean undamaged, refill firewood if u used it, and don't steal. And when something accidentally breaks, try to fix it. Or leave a note like "Sorry i broke .... I tried to fix it, but I can't." Don't even need a name or whatever, just a simple note like that can be enough not to be mad.
If I had something like this set up and somebody used it, accidentally broke something and left an apology note with their number on it I'd 100% go for a couple of pints with them.
Beautiful cooking Andy, the salt almost looked like meringue when cooked. I bet clay baked will be a winner. Camera trap to catch whose stealing from you. Let's get em
Really enjoy your videos! So sorry about the intruders - so disheartening! I have done rib roasts in salt in my Dutch - Just season it as you normally would and place on a good 2 - 3 cm bed of rock salt then completely cover with rock salt to about the same thickness. Sprinkle with a little bit of water. Cooks beautifully! Not salty at all and comes out from a perfectly sealed off shell of salt.
I've cooked fish in salt, but never anything else - might have to try some chicken now that I've got the inspiration! Sorry to hear about the scumbags, but on the other side, I'm excited to see the truck progress. Great video as always Andy!

I just want to say I’m so sorry someone came to your shelter and took things. I really can’t endure a thief. Your & Simons videos are the only camping videos I watch. Thank y’all for entertaining an old woman from Texas. Maybe you can put some cameras up that would be hidden.
Always great cooking videos Andy! Love it! You really put a lot of effort into this and the result looked great. Sorry to hear about your visitors disrespecting your stuff. So sad!
Hi Andy, sorry to hear about the disrespectful intruders you had. However, it was still a good episode and I wish you the best with your future maintenance of the place. Oh, your poultry came out nice.
There is some disrespectful people out there mate. Sorry to here they have taken stuff from your camps. Cracking video as always and love what you do. You and Simon bloke in the woods are the two main reasons I followed my dream with the bushcraft stuff. I am doing a bushcraft weekend where you did the ambulance camp weekend after next and can’t wait! Got a few new bits of kit to try. Keep up the good work mate. You have taught me so much. Maybe you should leave one of your cameras that you use to check the badgers at one of your camps and see if you can see what’s going on. Top video top bloke 👍🏻
Hey Andy, another great video, a damn shame people don't respect things anymore. I have used the salt crust style for poultry, beef and fish. I find this method makes the meat too salty for myself, but my hubby loves it. I like it on fish and beef mostly, though I don't use a bottom crust with the beef or fish. But great job once again!
Should do hangi cooking. So delicious. Dig a hole in the ground, heat up rocks, add food in tinfoil. Cover with old potato sacks, must completely cover with dirt, when done....yum. That chicken looks yum. See the juices running from it.
Stay positive it’s only stuff. Not ideal but you can always improve and move forward. Unfortunately people within the world feel the need to take from others. it’s great to cook fish this way too. the Italians use this method with sea bass (branzino) and very good it is too…but i must say i was salivating when i saw your poussin nicely cooked
