Ok but genuinely, thank you for posting this. Having an external point of reference for tinkering is awesome and helped me when I opened up my busted pair. Turns out that the little ribbon cable on mine was broken - I soldered a replacement and now Im back in business :)
I'm going to give it a try. I enjoy tinkering with electronics and have all the soldering equipment anyway. We got them as a free gift with groceries so we have no warranty to void and nothing to lose. Don't listen to the haters in the comments. OBVIOUSLY this should only be done by someone who is comfortable soldering and OBVIOUSLY you tried troubleshooting first. I don't care how many times you hit that stupid button, it's not going to fix a broken solder joint. lol Thank you for the informative teardown. It will help me tremendously!
THANK YOU SO MUCH OMG I tried EVERYTHING to get mine to work, and I had even popped the right bud open a few times to see if there was any visible hardware damage. Turned out to just be a wire that was knocked loose -- but I wouldn't have found it without your help. Brilliant!

NO you don’t need to open it up & you shouldn’t. They have troubleshooting
You really think I didn’t go through the troubleshooting guide? No amount of external troubleshooting will fix a broken solder joint. Cheers

Crack it open, solder it, done, how is that not easy? If you don’t know how to solder you learn a real-world skill in the process.
