Just by listening to these music pieces, I am reminded how the Legend of Zelda series in the best game franchise ever created. The story, the music, the characters, the atmosphere, and... everything. Zelda... is.. so... fucking... awesome!!

As someone twice as old as you, check out Frank Klepacki. He did the Westwood Studios games, along with newer's soundtracks. Tribes 1, 2, 3 are awesome too. Oh and, don't get too distracted you forget to make stuff or study spirituality, just bein' a consumer is a drag, I think. It's easy to get lost in Klepacki's tunes :) I tend to listen when dev-ing softwarez

I've played one single legend of Zelda game, and I don't know a lot of the names to most songs, except the most iconic ones like song of storms and lost woods but Ive been hooked on this music for a long time now.
Can't describe what Legend of Zelda series means to me.. to us even! I mean I just look at the Zelda community and its different to any other in gaming, we share a deep set love for this series that really influenced us, i'm 19 now, parents played Zelda since 1990, so when I was 3 years old Dad had me sat with him while he played, gradually I took over ;) Link to a past first game I ever completed, played every game since. They can keep their GTA's COD's etc, Nothing will give me the thrill of journeying with Link across Hyrule. The songs, the emotions, the plots, genius. Best gaming franchise ever made, thanks Nintendo for my childhood :)

The original Title Theme will always be my favorite. It's just hard to beat good ol' nostalgia. I love all the games that've come after, have no doubt about that. But, something about hearing those first few 8-bit notes playing just brings me back to my childhood of finally getting the cartridge to boot and getting ready to wage impossible war. Still gives me instant goosebumps.

I always thought that for a song of *healing* it sounds pretty damn haunting. But then again, everything in Majora's Mask was made to haunt me in my dreams.
I remember around 8-10 years ago I would wash dishes to this video, always rewinding back to the beginning whenever the video ended and would continue on. Most of the songs in this compilation remind me of the smell of dish soap funnily enough, and Midna's Lament specifically reminds me of the time I left the hot water on for too long and burnt my hands haha. Anywho, thank you for uploading this, the memories of doing dishes before playing Windwaker on my Gamecube are rushing back :)

I miss the synthesizer sound from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess. Listening to those soundtracks now make me happy, but also sad because I miss being 8 waking up early in the morning to play those games. Being 15 now, I always feel a small sense of disappointment because games nowadays don't really have that feel of discovery and wonder like games did back in the 90's and early 2000's. I was even kind of disappointed with Skyward Sword. I don't know what, but something felt missing. Here's hoping Zelda U brings that something back. :)
games evolve as they go on, and while i never played the olderish games, i certainly have played quite a few. I personally think each and every game has a beauty about it. To think about the zelda series as similar I think is a bad idea because each one is a different world and love put into it. i agree old ones had different possibly better feelings about playing them but I love every zelda game as it is.
Even though I grew up with the newer games I always loved playing classics like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask but even those games feel so limited when you compare them with the first two Zelda games that had so much freedom where you can defy the story and literally go anywhere you wanted.
OceanTree I agree it wasn't that good but it seemed more like an experiment and a rip off is something made by another company for a profit when Skyward sword was made by nintendo
I felt skyward sword was too confusing and difficult, but figuring stuff out on my own is fun. Though the motion controls were cool, but I am the type of player who freaks out and spams the sword button, so this doesn't help. And they did over hype the game...
I started crying during these songs because I miss when I use to sit and stare at my older brother playing Zelda and get so mad because I wanted to play too I remember those days..

I mean Majora Mask was sooo dark (still its my fav with WW) Rmember that scene with that brave goron guy that died trying to save his family and we had to soothe with Song of Healing... it was to much for a young heart and i couldnt stop crying and dont even get me started on that poor little girl alone with her cursed father in ikana...
OoT was my first zelda game back in 98. i was 6, and there wasn't any other game like it, all i thought was how awesome would it be to be inside the game, and be the one fighting. SS brings you so close to that, it was a dream come true. people i've seen not to like it is because they just want to swing stupid the mote and make everything die. the little things like swinging a different attack pattern for every foe, the bow, the bombs, the beetle, the fucking bird i know it'll never be epona, but it brought something different, that's the point, trying to make each zelda different is what makes them iconic!! Oot, Mm, Ww, TP, SS, what would be the fucking point of making every zelda game feel like ocarina. That's the magic of it, being different, giving you different experiences every time it comes back, but you can't please everyone, and some people don't appreciate that. that's why games like sonic suck now, cause it was always the same shit, did not had the vision to evolve, and now that they try, just don't know what shit to do to make it shine again, ever since ripping off super saiyan, i thought they're desperate now, that shit's so low and embarrassing.

Noah Beier im 21 and never played zelda. Just got an n64 with ocarina of time in a trade but cant get it to start. Kinda curious of how it feels to play it lol
1. Zelda's Lullaby (OOT, TP, SS, AND BOTW versions. They're magical and bring tears to my eyes) 2. Ballad of the Wind Fish (this was a close second and I almost made it #1. Love it so much. So sad, meaningful, and powerful. The ending scene in the remake is defintely an 'cri everytiem' moment. I wish Marin was still alive.) 3. Midna's Lament (YEP, ANOTHER SAD NOSTALGIC ONE. Midna is one of my all time favourite characters and again, like many others, I wish she wasn't dead (because BoTW is hundreds of thousands of years after.) 4. Ballad of the Goddess 5. Dragon Roost Island/Rito Village (because they're practically the same thing. AND I WISH MEDLI, GRANDMA, AND MAKAR WERE STILL ALIVE) 6. Breath of the Wild main theme (piece of art this is) 7. Shiek's theme 8. Song of Healing (Again, I grew very attached to many of the dead characters in MM) 9. Temple of Time 10. Ancient Hero. (Another nostalgic one. It captured the beauty of the entire series. I freakin adore it.) 11. Saria's Song (this character is one of the many Zelda characters which I am emotionally attached to.) 12. Gerudo Valley 13. I play with an xbox 360 controller, you don't need an adapter and it's simple enough to setup. You can get a decent one for around $30

I miss the synthesizer sound from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Twilight Princess. Listening to those soundtracks now make me happy, but also sad because I miss being 8 waking up early in the morning to play those games. Being 15 now, I always feel a small sense of disappointment because games nowadays don't really have that feel of discovery and wonder like games did back in the 90's and early 2000's. I was even kind of disappointed with Skyward Sword. I don't know what, but something felt missing. Here's hoping Zelda U brings that something back. :)
games evolve as they go on, and while i never played the olderish games, i certainly have played quite a few. I personally think each and every game has a beauty about it. To think about the zelda series as similar I think is a bad idea because each one is a different world and love put into it. i agree old ones had different possibly better feelings about playing them but I love every zelda game as it is.
Even though I grew up with the newer games I always loved playing classics like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask but even those games feel so limited when you compare them with the first two Zelda games that had so much freedom where you can defy the story and literally go anywhere you wanted.
Skyward Sword was fucking terrible I thought it was a rip-off of the real Zelda.
OceanTree I agree it wasn't that good but it seemed more like an experiment and a rip off is something made by another company for a profit when Skyward sword was made by nintendo
I felt skyward sword was too confusing and difficult, but figuring stuff out on my own is fun. Though the motion controls were cool, but I am the type of player who freaks out and spams the sword button, so this doesn't help. And they did over hype the game...

OoT was my first zelda game back in 98. i was 6, and there wasn't any other game like it, all i thought was how awesome would it be to be inside the game, and be the one fighting. SS brings you so close to that, it was a dream come true. people i've seen not to like it is because they just want to swing stupid the mote and make everything die. the little things like swinging a different attack pattern for every foe, the bow, the bombs, the beetle, the fucking bird i know it'll never be epona, but it brought something different, that's the point, trying to make each zelda different is what makes them iconic!! Oot, Mm, Ww, TP, SS, what would be the fucking point of making every zelda game feel like ocarina. That's the magic of it, being different, giving you different experiences every time it comes back, but you can't please everyone, and some people don't appreciate that. that's why games like sonic suck now, cause it was always the same shit, did not had the vision to evolve, and now that they try, just don't know what shit to do to make it shine again, ever since ripping off super saiyan, i thought they're desperate now, that shit's so low and embarrassing.
I remember when this video came out, my younger cousin and I saw it only a few days after and we both loved legend of Zelda, we both ended up getting our ocarinas and everything, we listened to this video all the time. Thank you for making it!

In all honesty I think A Link to the Past is my favorite Zelda game, it's the game that introduced me to my now favorite series. It has amazing music and just holds a special place in my heart.

This is a great list, but being an old school gamer, the original theme to zelda should be number 1. It's the theme that just about everyone knows, like the original super mario world 1-1 song.

This not so well known system holds 3 horrendous Zelda games. Shameful editions that not a single person will ever recognize as true Zelda game, stains upon the franchise with no place in the Zelda timeline.
Tenks Skenta does CDI stand for something, i heard people talk about it, but i don't know much about it.
it was a Philips system, look it up. it wasn't just Zelda they got their hands on though they also got Mario. Nintendo doesn't even acknowledge their existence let alone that they allowed it
i just looked up the cdi zelda games, i never thought i'd say this, but the animated series is better than that.
